EXCURSIONS: Brixham Battery Heritage Centre, Brixham, Paignton, Dawlish,Teignmouth, Babbacombe Model Village and Wells Tuesday 21stin keeping with our 40’s theme we pay a morning visit to Brixham Battery Heritage Centre, one of only seven remaining original 116 Emergency Batteries built in 1940. Set across a 14 acre site with outstanding panoramic views of Torbay, Battery Gardens is home to the now abandoned bunkers of the Battery, which was first used in 1586 during the war between England and Spain. Around Battery Gardens can be seen the various emplacements, and the training room has been turned into a small but interesting museum. In the afternoon free time will be given to explore the old fishing port of Brixham before spending some time at leisure in Paignton. W ednesday 22nd today we visit Georgian Teignmouth, pretty Dawlish and popular Babbacombe Model Village. As you stroll through the award-winning gardens, marvel at the miniature creations representing British life and culture over the last five decades. Animated scenes, along with touches of very English humour bring it all to life.Thursday 23rd a day at leisure to enjoy Torquay. Friday 24th on our return journey home today we visit medieval Wells, the smallest City in England.

We spend the rest of the day in charming St David’s, the smallest city in Britain. Spend time strolling around the lanes and browsing the little shops before visiting St David’s Cathedral. W ednesday 20th we drive east to Bronwydd Arms Station to take the morning service on the lovingly restored Gwili NarrowGauge Railway as it winds its way north beside the River Gwili before returning to Abergwili junction and Bronwydd Arms Station. In the afternoon we travel to marvellous Aberglasney House & Gardens. With history dating from the 1600’s this partially restored mansion features a sub-tropical indoor garden as well as 10 acres of exquisite landscaped gardens. Thursday 21stthis morning we visit Saundersfoot, a small seaside resort with a charm and character all of its own.

The Anderton Boat Lift has earnt its nickname of Cathedral of the Canals for a very good reason, not only does it still do the job it was designed to do of lifting boats and barges the 50 feet from the River Weaver to the Trent and Mersey Canal, but it does it with the most ingenious and endearing character of any structure on the canal system – a truly impressive sight!

Tuesday 16th we spend time today at Devon’s most magnificent historic gardens, Grade 1 listed Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Spanning nearly 300 years of horticultural history enjoy the colourful gardens containing many rare plants, the parkland that features historic glasshouses, a countryside museum, mini golf, restaurant, shop and a woodland railway on which we enjoy a 25 minute journey through the parkland. W ednesday 17th a day at leisure to enjoy Sidmouth. Thursday 18th we travel to Coldharbour Mill, where wool has been in continuous production since 1797. On our guided tour relive the sights and sounds of the industrial revolution and discover the craft in making traditional textiles. We continue to the Honiton Lace Museum where we have a short introductory talk followed by time to browse the museum. Friday 19th we start today with a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary at Slade House Farm which provides refuge to over 500 donkeys. We then continue to the resorts of Seaton and Lyme Regis where you can spend some free time. Saturday 20th on our return journey home today we spend some time in lovely Bath, a unique city famous for its Roman Baths, beautiful Abbey and Georgian crescents.

Explore the site at your own pace, with twenty buildings and six acres to enjoy. Tuesday 30th at Whitby we board the morning steam train of the North York Moors Railway for a nostalgic journey through the moors National Park to Pickering. On arrival you have free time to explore the lovely market town of Pickering before boarding our coach for the return to Whitby. W ednesday 1stwe travel via Robin Hood’s Bay to the seaside resort of Scarborough, Scarborough has retained the charm and style established in its Victorian heyday. Its elegant architecture, many interesting little shops and attractive gardens make it a resort to relax and potter in. Thursday 2nd we first call at the market town of Guisborough before a drive through Bilsdale – ‘Little Switzerland’, passing Rievaulx Abbey to delightful Helmsley where you have some free time before we continue to Kilburn, under the famous White Horse visiting the wood carving Mousey Thompson Visitor Centre. Friday 3rd is a free day for you to enjoy at leisure. Saturday 4th on our return journey home today we visit historical York for free time to explore the sites.

W ednesday 8th this morning we visit the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum, a fascinating museum containing several smaller museums including the 446th Bomb Group Museum, the Royal Observer Corps Museum, Bomber Command Museum and the Air Sea Rescue Museum, as well as the main site. It comprises over 65 aircraft and cockpits and over 30000 artefacts of various sizes. We spend the afternoon in the timeless and delightful resort of Southwold, little changed since Victorian times. Thursday 9th after breakfast, we make our way to Sandringham, the much loved country retreat of Her Majesty, The Queen. The house, set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens, has knowledgeable guides in every room and the museum houses collections of Royal vehicles, rare ceramics, photographs and memorabilia. We spend the day exploring the house, gardens, museum and Visitor Centre. Friday 10th today is spent in the traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth with its glorious parks and gardens, sandy beaches, a town steeped in heritage, lively pier and more.

There will be free time to wander the beautiful gardens and grounds which lead to a rocky cove. On our return to Barnstaple we stop in the delightful quayside village of Appledore. Located where the Taw & Torridge rivers meet you will be able to discover its quaint, narrow streets which boast a small, but impressive range of shops, pubs and art galleries. Thursday 23rd a day at leisure to enjoy Barnstaple. Friday 24th we start the day with a scenic drive across Exmoor National Park, before arriving at the picturesque resort of Lynmouth to spend some time. Next we take a two mile round trip through some of the loveliest countryside in North Devon on the Woody Bay Railway, Woody Bay Station is the place we board our little narrow gauge train for a journey back in time. In the afternoon we spend time in the charming seaside resort of Ilfracombe before returning to our hotel via the spectacular North Devon coast pausing at Woolacombe and Saunton. Saturday 25th our first destination today is RHS Rosemoor Gardens. This 64-acre garden, lying in the Torridge Valley, close to Great Torrington, offers something for all garden lovers. In the afternoon we visit Quince Honey Farm where we gain an educational insight from the hive to the finished product.

EXCURSIONS: Black Watch Museum, Scone Palace, Scotland’s Secret Bunker, St. Andrews, Stirling, Falkirk Wheel, Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Tattoo* (*Access to the Tattoo is via a steep gradient, which may be a problem for people with walking difficulties)

Tuesday 4th this morning, we enjoy a visit to the Black Watch Castle & Museum in Perth. Located on one of Perth’s most beautiful parks, the North Inch, the museum castle dates back to the 1600’s and tells the story of Scotland’s elite military regiment. Lunch can be enjoyed here or in Perth city, before visiting magnificent Scone Palace, once the crowning place of the Kings of Scotland. W ednesday 5th we take a scenic tour to the town of St. Andrews, famous for its golf course and university, on route we visit the ‘Secret Bunker’ for a guided tour of Scotland’s secret underground command centre hidden beneath a Scottish Farmhouse. Thursday 6th after breakfast we depart from Keavil House and make our way to The Westerwood Hotel, stopping on route to visit the historic city of Stirling, with its Old Town and Castle, which was once the residence of Scottish Kings. Friday 7th this morning we enjoy a trip on the famous Falkirk Wheel, the world’s only rotating boatlift, used to connect the Forth & Clyde and Union canals. An exceptional feat of engineering, the 60 minute journey lifts the boat up to join the Union Canal 35m above and allows the boat to sail smoothly onto the Union Canal. We return to our hotel for the afternoon where we can relax and enjoy the facilities. Saturday 8th after a relaxing morning at the hotel, we depart for Edinburgh. Enjoy some time for shopping or sightseeing in this captivating city before we make our way to the castle and take our seats for the 7.15pm performance of the military tattoo (Please note that an evening meal is not included today).

Hauled by a vintage steam locomotive we enjoy a special journey back in time enjoying a unique view of some of the Island’s unspoilt countryside. In the afternoon we visit the elegant Victorian resort of Ryde, offering an attractive esplanade, miles of glorious sands, bustling marina and views across the Solent. M onday 17th we travel along the scenic ‘military’ coastal road of West Wight to visit Mottistone Gardens (NT), a magical five-acre Elizabethan Manor garden. Later in the day we visit the picture-postcard village of Godshill, full of pretty thatched cottages set around the quaint village church. Tuesday 18th free day to enjoy at leisure. W ednesday 19th we begin today with a visit to Whippingham Church with its connections to Queen Victoria followed by Osborne House, her magnificent seaside residence, enjoy exploring both the splendour of the house and the glorious grounds and gardens. Thursday 20th a morning at leisure before an afternoon visit to Calbourne Water Mill. Set in 35 acres of stunning rural landscape, we discover a working Water Mill dating from the Doomsday Book, a small War Museum and many rural exhibits.

Sunday 6th this morning we visit the Hush Heath Winery, home and heart of Balfour Wines, we enjoy a tour and tasting at this family run English wine Estate set within the rolling hills of Kent. The afternoon is spent in Bexhill-on-Sea, a town steeped in history since the Napoleonic era, where pavement cafes now line the streets of this popular seaside resort. M onday 7th this morning we explore the wonderful historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, with its elegant architecture and the pretty colonnaded 18th century walkway known as the Pantiles.This afternoon we visit the National Trust’s Scotney Castle. The beautiful gardens, bursting with rhododendrons and azaleas, form a glorious backdrop to the fairytale castle. There is a wealth of treasures to be found in the Victorian country mansion, where three generations have made their mark, adding possessions and character to the home. W ednesday 9th we begin today with a nostalgic train journey from Bodiam to Tenterden on the Kent & East Sussex Railway, taking us through the unspoilt countryside of the Rother Valley. Spend time then in Tenterden, known as the 'Jewel of the Weald', offering a fascinating history, a wealth of architecture and excellent shopping. Our day finishes with a visit to medieval Rye, considered to be one of the best preserved of the ancient Cinque Ports, with its quaint cobbled streets, historic half-timbered buildings and smugglers’ inns. Thursday 10th we take the coastal road west this morning passing Beachy Head, Seaford, Brighton and Worthing before going inland to visit the WWT Arundel Wetland Centre, set in the splendour of the South Downs adjacent to the River Arun. This gorgeous wetland reserve is home to a collection of over 50 species of wildfowl from around the world. Time then to enjoy the ancient town of Arundel, built on a hill Arundel is quite spectacular having a cathedral and castle together with cafes and shops. Tuesday 8th & Friday 11th free days to enjoy at leisure.

BOOKING CONDITIONS PLEASE READ CAREFULLY YOUR CONTRACT IS WITH EASYTRAVEL (MALVERN) LTD 1.

When you make your booking you must complete a booking form accepting these conditions on behalf of all persons on the booking form and pay a non-refundable deposit of £60.00 per person,You will then be issued with a booking confirmation.

2.

The balance of your holiday is due 6 weeks before travel. Bookings within 6 weeks of travel require full payment. If the balance is not paid on time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and apply the cancellation charges set out below.

3.

You or any person on the booking form may cancel your holiday at any time providing that the person making the original booking does so in writing. Cancellation charges will apply as follows: Cancellation more than 42 days before departure date – loss of deposit. Within 8 - 42 days before departure – loss of deposit and a £50.00 charge plus any charges made by the hotel. Less than 8 days before departure 100% of the total cost. If this is an insurable reason this may be recovered from your travel insurance policy.

4.

Financial Protection – The Package Travel Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the package holidays booked from this brochure and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency. We provide this security by way of a bond held by ABTA.

5.

If after booking you wish to change to another of our holidays within the same brochure we will do all we can to accommodate you, providing the request is made in writing from the person who made the original booking.

6.

Please advise us of any special requests at the time of booking on the booking form under special requirements. If you have any disabilities or special needs please consult us as to the suitability of your chosen hotel. We must stress clients needing any assistance must have a responsible companion with them.

7.

If you have a problem during your holiday please notify your courier/driver and the relevant supplier hotel/Easytravel who will do all they can to put things right. Easytravel is a member of ABTA with membership numbers 26458 and W2204, ABTA & ABTA members help holidaymakers to get the most from their travel and assist them when things do not go according to plan. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s code of conduct. Changes in transport costs i.e. the cost of fuel, government taxes or exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. However there will be no change within 30 days of your departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges.You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £3.00pp together with an amount to cover agents commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option to cancel your holiday with a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on your final invoice.

9.

We reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may have to cancel it. An alternative holiday would be offered in the event of cancellation or a full refund would be made if the alternative were not acceptable. No holiday will be cancelled less than 28 days before departure. Minor alterations will be given to you at once. Any major changes will give you the option of cancelling without charge. Force majeure: we will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control.These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, epidemics & pandemics, unavoidable technical problems with transport.

10. We accept responsibility for ensuring that the holiday you book with us is as described in the brochure and that the services provided reach a reasonable standard. If any part of the holiday is not provided, as stated in the brochure, we will offer you compensation up to the cost of your holiday. 11. We accept responsibility for death or injury caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of our employees and subcontractors, servants and/or agents of the same whilst acting within the scope of, or in the course of their employment in the provision of your holiday. We will accordingly pay to the client damages as may have been awarded under English law. In respect of carriage by sea and land travel and the provision of accommodation our liability will be limited in the manner provided by the relevant international convention. 12. In the unlikely event of a travel delay of more than 4 hours i.e. breakdown or traffic conditions, Easytravel will do their very best to ensure passengers comfort at all times. If necessary this would include alternative transport and/or refreshments where possible. 13. This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions, which are governed by English law and both parties shall submit to the jurisdiction of English courts at all times. 14. Data Protection: In order to process your booking and to ensure that your travel arrangements run smoothly and meet your requirements we need to use the information you provide such as name, address, any special needs/dietary requirements etc. We take full responsibility for ensuring that proper security measures are in place to protect your information. When you make a booking, you consent to all the information you provide being passed on to your suppliers, wherever they may be based.
