During these months it is good to visit the European hotspots to get the best of the hot weather. Scandinavian days are long so you can get the most out of the sunny weather. Alpine lakes and the off the beaten track Greek islands are also worth a visit. It is the best time to do the Inca Trail and explore Peru. It is the chilliest months yet it is still warm and dry. The northern part of Australia is still dry at the moment so visiting Queensland is good.

North America’s weather also starts to improve so ideal to visit some of the cities such as San Francisco, Boston and New York.

September – November

For somewhere a little different, Morocco has plenty to choose from.

The monsoons in Asia are starting to leave. Vietnam, Laos and the Philippines are worth a trip.

Monsoon season is starting to hit Southeast Asia but Indonesia is a superb alternative.

Japan becomes exceptionally pretty in the spring when all the cherry trees come into blossom.

Central America and the Caribbean are still fine but can be a little cheaper than other months. The rains are approaching but Antigua and Cuba should be fine.

With the temperatures still warm but not so hot and prices being lower, it’s another good time to go to Europe. Good recommendations are Barcelona, Sicily, the Croatian coast and Provence vineyards. Drive along the East Coast of the USA and marvel in the spectacular autumn colours.

It is spring time in South Africa so make the most of the lovely Garden Route. The wildlife in Namibia is in abundance at this time of year as well.
