MANIFESTING CHRIST A CLOSER WALK WITH JESUS
PRESSING IN TO JESUS by Nancy-TONI Youngbrandt Over the summer, Jesus kept saying to me, "PRESS IN TO ME." I especially felt that draw and even need to do just that as the demands of outside work in hot, 90-100 degree days began to take its toll on me. I never felt so miserable as when I lay in bed with heat exhaustion, feeling nauseous and like I was about to blackout. It was then that the Holy Spirit came upon me and I began to calm down. I then prayed to bring my soul and body to rest, and to draw closer to Jesus in my inner being. It was then I saw Jesus extend His Hand out to me, as if from behind a veil or curtain. I could feel Him beckoning me to take His Hand, to press forward, upward to Him, to draw close to Him and take His Hand. From this point on, I knew the Lord was calling not just me, but all of His people to "press in" to him. To me, this meant being more faithful in my prayer and abiding time, and really practicing quieting my soul to where I rest from my soulish work and efforts, and then press in closer to Jesus in my inner, spiritual man. And while I know not everyone will understand what this means, I believe the call is for all of us, no matter where we are in our walk and relationship with Jesus, to make a bit more effort in our hearts to get closer to Jesus, to set aside time to really give ourselves up to Him, to let the Spirit of God do His Work in us.
CONFIRMATION Then, without even looking for confirmation of this message, I would hear it through a CD put out by Dan Bohler entitled, 'CARRIERS OF HIS PRESENCE." In his cd, he was sharing how he had been praying to be filled with God's Glory, His Light, His Presence. Brother Bohler quoted two Scriptures in particular, which are Isaiah 60-1-3 and Matthew 17:1-2. They read as follows: Isaiah 60:1-3 "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen
upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising."
