MOVING `IN THE SPIRIT' (Continued While my focus will come to the events of December 1-4, 2010 in the "CRY JERUSALEM" Prayer Operation and what followed, it is well to review something about moving `In The Spirit' to have some perspective about the reality of moving `In The Spirit' and how we have seen it reflect in this world in ways that are obvious to us.

As a refresher, the chart below gives a pancake view of the 12 dimensions of God's

Creation. In moving `In The Spirit' over the years the HOLY SPIRIT imparted an understanding of these things.

MOVING `IN THE SPIRIT' Continued it looks like). Those demons gather and form up into fighting armies and advance towards the GAP, which is their entry point into this world, into our four dimensions where we live.

The FATHER GOD set me and the forty Legions of JESUS' Warring Angels. He assigned to me, to stand in the GAP, to withstand that demon horde. At that time (1982) JESUS joined to me Nancy-TONI, with her forty Legions of JESUS' waning Angels. I did not know who she was at that time. Together we covered two thirds of the GAP. The lack of the third prophet and his Angels was due to a want of prayer in the body of Christ.

The lead beastman of antiChrist, whom I saw face to face in The GAP (and months later recognized in a magazine as Senator Gary Hart), led that demon army to move through the GAP and attacked us when he realized we blocked his way. Standing in Christ, we withstood him for something like 70 days before he broke through the open end of the GAP we could not cover.

By the SPIRIT OF GOD I knew that this beastman intended to run for president of the U.S. and that we had in effect defeated him, he would not become president. The second beastman to follow Hart, was not known in 1982 but again, he was already defeated and his presidential bid would also fail. In 2008, when Obarna appeared on the scene, 21 years from the GAP battle of 1987, as JESUS revealed he would, I realized that the second beastman of 1982 was John Kerry.

From the GAP to `In This World': We learned by observation that it took TWO YEARS for events in the GAP to begin to surface in this world. Thus Hart, who moved to come through the GAP in 1982 to become President would actually declare his candidacy for President in 1984.

Demons moving into the third dimension of this world: From the time demons broke through the GAP, they'd move to enter into this world and when they reached the third dimension, though invisible to the naked eye, they would move to cause all sorts of trouble: suffering, death and destruction.

The work of The Net of Prayer picked up: The battle in the GAP waged by JESUS' prophets and His Angels was not the end of the work of prayer-warfare.

From the time demons entered into this world, the Net of Prayer would seek God's

Commission through prayer and when obtaining it, would move `In The Spirit' to

MOVING `IN THE SPIRIT' [Continued) wage prayer-warfare with the invading demons. Unlike battles in The GAP, battles with demons in the third dimension of this world reflected /surfaced immediately in often time obvious if not stunning events.

The following is transcribed from the JOEL 2 REPORT of February 20, 1985:

"After the NET OF PRAYER withstood the Beastman of anti Christ in the Gap `In The Spirit' from May to July 1982, the Lord required that we stand aside. The demon armies of hell would now burst through into the spiritual version of USA...

The Lord led the NET OF PRAYER to go over to intercession, praying for God's help and mercy against this man of perdition and his hellish powers. Then in February 1983, the Lord Jesus called the NET OF PRAYER to the attack, for the Beast's demon armies lay over two-thirds of the spiritual version of USA. In His name and power, looking to Jesus, we swept away and destroyed one third of the demon host, but the last third part was nestled on the West Coast Areas. A third of the Church was in outright rebellion against God, and by that rebellion the Beast and Satan-Lucifer had grounds here. Jesus told us to expect a massive attack by the enemy.

Moving `In The Spirit' in the third dimension the Net of Prayer formed in front of the demon armies led by two beastmen out of the book of Revelation. They were as one, yet two. I cannot explain more than seeing this. In its hands was a ball of lightning and fire. The NET OF PRAYER stood in one great line behind shields of faith, with Jesus' Angels standing with us. The Beast hurled the fire-lightning ball.

We stood in Christ and withstood 90% of the force of that deadly ball. There was a fiercesome explosion `In The Spirit' when the fire-lightning ball hit the NET OF PRAYER wall of shields of faith. The ground heaved and quaked. A great fire was largely quenched by the shields of faith, but again, there were not enough intercessors. Four (4) streams of lightning and fire moved past the NET OF PRAYER, impacting the land to the east of Denver (generally). Great fires and explosions swept the land east of us, leaving vast areas of the land burned and ruined.

EVIDENCE OF THE BATTLE ENGAGED `In The Spirit' in the 3 Dimension Within twelve hours, the first reflection of this battle was heard and felt IN THE

EVIDENCE OF THE BATTLE ENGAGED continued WORLD, for a vast area from Cleveland, Ohio to near the Pennsylvania border, was shaken by a strong tremor. Just before this tremor, a blast was heard in a clear night's sky. Within another six days, three more such blasts and shakes were heard on the U.S. Gulf Coast. Windows cracked, chimneys toppled, and some people were knocked off their feet by the quake. Yet scientists were perplexed. Earthquake instruments showed "ZERO" earth movement, and no sonic booms from aircraft breaking the sound barrier could be found as the cause.

So we could see another stunning manifestation of battles `In The Spirit' having direct effect IN THIS WORLD. It was seen `In The Spirit' February 19, 1983, and the initial effect of this attack by the Beast was visible IN THE WORLD with booms and quakes shaking people and the land on the same day(s). (Unquote)" Note: The two beastmen seen February 19, 1983, who appeared as one, were manifested in Senator Gary Hart and Senator John Kerry. These were the two beastmen who would come through the GAP in 1982. Today we recognize that the re and lightning that got past the Net of Prayer line `In The Spirit' four streams of fire was the first evidence of the coming accidental nuclear attack (4 nukes , . These demon driven men would lay foundations for that terrible event.

This also tells us today, that the two beastmen who came through the GAP in 1987 (Bill Clinton and Barack Obama) are like twins, two working as one. Evidence of that is seen in how former president Bill Clinton came to beastman Obama 's defense when he extended the George Bush tax cut at the end of 2010. "(Quote continued) ...THE NET OF PRAYER IN 1983 AND 1984: A major prophetic work was completed in 1983, along with a strong intercessory effort which, in effect, nullified the Beast's plans in 1983. Again Satan attacked the ministry and the Net of Prayer. Again, Christians believed Satan's Ties. Nearly a full third of the intercessors of the Net of Prayer quit.

JESUS directed the Net of Pra y er to get ready to stand in two "gaps" to withstand a fresh demonic assault. One gap was given as Houston-Galveston. Texas, and here Prayer Army North was deployed in prayer to stand in the gap for the nation. The other gap was given as San Francisco, and here, Prayer Army South was deployed in prayer to stand in the gap for the nation. The loss of over 100 intercessors in 1983 left Prayer Army South seriously undermanned, and I discerned that without at least 100 new intercessors it was likely the gap in San Francisco would be overwhelmed. Financial support for the ministry was at a low ebb. Though

new efforts were mounted to find new intercessors, it was too little and too late.

The Beast, who I had seen face to face IN THE SPIRIT in May 1982, I identified months later, and Jesus affirmed that this man was indeed the Beast of Antichrist USA. We shortly saw how things IN THE SPIRIT could take on a real dimension IN THIS WORLD. On February 14, 1984, Jesus told me that demon power was breaking through the prayer defenses at San Francisco. The gap here was being broken through for want of intercession. On February 15, Richard Sydor, Lord's General Overseer for Prayer Army South at San Francisco, received Joel 2 from Jesus. February 16, Muriel Wilson, an intercessor with Prayer Army South at San Francisco, had a vision of black clouds coming in and was also given Joel 2 by Jesus.

On February 19, 1984, it was confirmed: a definite full-fledged breakthrough by demons through the San Francisco gap. Following a judgment pattern seen for years, a vast storm system swept into the USA through the West Coast areas that killed and destroyed for a full month with blizzards, floods, tornados, and high winds. But most startling, the very man seen IN THE SPIRIT in May 1982, the Beast of Antichrist USA, suddenly emerged in the presidential primaries and swept into first place. Right behind this came major earthquakes and strong war threats from Russia.

Jesus now instructed the NET OF PRAYER to relocate to new prayer positions centering in the Midwest. In a lot of ways the NET OF PRAYER had its back to the wall. As troubles erupted in the nation, the NET OF PRAYER looked to Jesus in daily prayer, asking God's help—and prevailed. But the Beast USA swept primary after primary, gaining the attention and imagination of the nation and news media.

He was polled and found to be the only man who could unseat Reagan in the election of 1984. But when his campaign entered the Midwest areas where the NET OF PRAYER was in position, his campaign began to falter, and then it failed.

ANOTHER EVIDENCE: 666 Most interesting was what developed in April 1984. Jesus had instructed me to go to Wisconsin on a given weekend without saying why. The day before we were due to leave for Wisconsin, a fierce thunder-and-lightning storm struck Chicago, and I discerned a spiritual battle. Then I saw that the Beast's demons were attempting to pave his way into the city, and the Lord's Angels with me battled them IN THE SPIRIT. That battle IN THE SPIRIT reflected IN THE WORLD with fierce displays of lightning, and I commented to my family, saying, "The Beast's demons are trying to come in; he's trying to enter Chicago, but so long as I 'm here, he won 't succeed ".

The day we left for Wisconsin, the morning news indicated the Beast had tried

ANOTHER EVIDENCE: 666 (continued) to fly into Chicago, but the fierce storm forced his airplane away and into Indiana, so he had to come in by bus the day I was leaving. As if to confirm it, the Illinois lottery drew number 666 the day he entered Chicago!

DESTROYING COMMUNIST SOVIET WAR AIMS IN 1984 As the Lord Jesus had revealed since late 1983 that Russia was building up for a surprise nuclear attack on USA, the NET OF PRAYER returned to deep intercession asking God's help in stopping this planned attack. We specifically asked the Lord GOD to destroy the weapons of war. By late 1984, news reports reached us, indicating that Russian ammunition stores had begun blowing up all over Russia from that time, with a massive explosion and destruction of an entire naval port city.

Its destruction was so great that it crippled the Russian Navy for at least a year. ...It was on the point of faith and enduring prayer with love that most intercessors would fail. To continue to love and care, we had to look to Jesus for His love to renew us. To endure in prayer, we had to learn a discipline of daily prayer.

This has been a fiery test for all of us in the years from 1981 to the present day. .Since the battles IN THE SPIRIT of February 1983, a number of times the demons we had battled in God's armor came to dread us, being fear-struck, and would draw back. It was at times like this that I discerned they were seeing Jesus in us. Terrified of Him, they would be paralyzed with fear and trembling. Without understanding it, we were experiencing I John 4:3, "And every spirit that confessetli

not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of Antichrist...

Out of years of prayer and looking to Jesus, the more we looked to Him, the more we began to look LIKE HIM. This the demon spirits saw IN THE SPIRIT. They could not and would not confess it, buy they feared and trembled, terror-struck, when it was apparent to them. Indeed, they were seeing Jesus Christ come IN OUR FLESH. Following the prayer battles of July 1984, Jesus answered our prayers for new intercessors in a way not expected. On July 24, 1984, JESUS added, by His Spirit and `In The Spirit', to the NET OF PRAYER some 28,000 new Christian intercessors, each with 100 of His Angels. The added weight of this fresh influx of prayer power became evident to all of us as we moved again by faith and employed these new IN THE SPIRIT intercessors. Pastors and false prophets had driven away one third of our intercessors, now God added even more by His Spirit whom they could not touch.

The "BURNING FIRE" Prayer Campaign of 1984 and SAN FRANCISCO On August 30, 1984, Jesus called the NET OF PRAYER to a new Prayer Campaign.

He gave me Jeremiah 20:9, and from this I was to select the name of the Prayer Campaign... "Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name. But His Word was in mine heart as A BURNING FIRE shut up in my hones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. " So I selected "A

BURNING FIRE" for the name of the Prayer Campaign.

Jesus' instructions were clear. The NET OF PRAYER, moving by the Spirit of God in His name, was to sweep into the Northwest areas of USA (Oregon, Washington, and Idaho states), demolish demon power present here, and establish Seattle, Washington as a prayer position. This was to be done on September 18, 1984, and then on September 19", the whole NET OF PRAYER was to sweep south through California to San Diego and destroy demon power all along the West Coast areas. ...On September 19, 1984, the NET OF PRAYER began its sweep to the south. .As the NET OF PRAYER moved by the Spirit southward, we moved like a FIRE. Demons encountered along the way were cut through instantly in ways we had never seen before. The sense of being like FIRE was very evident to me. When we came to San Francisco, we saw again the same trunk-like formation of demons first seen in 1981. Demons by the tens of millions were pouring into the spiritual version of USA, moving relentlessly east and south.

Looking to Jesus, the NET OF PRAYER moved as fire through this massive formation of demons with a swiftness like we saw when Jesus intervened IN THE SPIRIT on December 14, 1981. We cut through them instantly and shortly reached San Diego. On the return trip north, as we passed San Francisco heading back to the new prayer positions of Seattle, we could see the smoldering remains of demon forms crumbling into dust. The demons to the west and east of the area we had cut through as fire were in disarray and panic-struck. As we had seen for so long in battles IN THE SPIRIT, demons broken with the Sword of the Word of God would fall into ashes thereafter. It had become such a common sight IN THE SPIRIT, we hardly thought of its significance until a time after the San Francisco battle.

"Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall p r epare the way before ine, and the Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly come to His temple. ..But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appeareth? For He is like a refiner's FIRE, and like fuller's soap... (Malachi 3: 1,2,1; And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ASHES under the soles of your feet... (Malachi 4: 3). "

"BURNING FIRE" Pra y er Campaign 1984 & San Francisco (Continued) What happened in San Francisco on the night the Net of Prayer swept through the demon armies is akin to what happened in Chicago when Hart tried to fly into Chicago. The Angels with me battled his demons, not allowing them to come, and so his airplane was turned back by a fierce storm filled with lightnings.

Now, in San Francisco, the movement of the Net of Prayer in the third dimension had a like effect but more dramatic.

San Francisco: September 19. 1984 "Satan eiT to the earth as iig inning ' - (Luke uke i O:18) SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: SEPTEMBER 19,1984: A local news report said: "It was a dark and stormy night, as the legends say, and the night of September 19,1984 was legendary by anyone's standards. For hours the gusting black curtain of the sky was rent by electrical charges that provided the most spectacular light show seen over the Bay Areas in decades. Cracking bursts of

thunder shook the sleeping from their beds to gape in awe at the pulsating

One NET OF PRAYER intercessor named Richard, who lives in San Francisco, wrote of this night, saying: "Here is a picture of what A BURNING FIRE Prayer Campaign looked like on the night of September 19` x • I and hundreds of thousands of Bay Area residents were awakened in the middle of the night by what indeed sounded like a battle in Heaven. . During this time NET OF PRAYER warriors were moving from Seattle to San Diego and back again. . .We ever looked to Jesus all through, keeping our eyes and heart on Jesus, and went forth as a burning fire of His cleansing love. Jesus did the rest, and was it ever impressive!"

He also sent a color photo of the lightning that night. The artist redrew the lightning (see cover page and above) and overlaid it with what was happening IN THE SPIRIT. Thus, the lightning in the sketch on the cover page is literally what it looked like in San Francisco on September 19 `h • When I read the news account, two Scriptures immediately came to mind, as given by the Holy Spirit:

"Satan feel to earth as lightning. " "And there was war in heaven. ..and that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ..and when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man-child. "(Revelation 12) Indeed, in April 1983 Jesus had said, "A BATTLE NOT SEEN OR HEARD, THE ECHOES WILL BE SEEN AND HEARD BY MANY WITH WONDERMENT." (Unquote)

Co ninent/question: Why couldn'tHart ,fly into Chicago in April 1984, beingforced back to Indiana by the violent storm? In the GAP, in 1982, we withstood every attack of the enemy led by Hart, thus he simply could not gain ground against us directly.

When he tried to fly into Chicago where I was living, the warring Angels of God assigned to me would NOT perinit him to enter while I was there. He had to back• off.

The clash between his demons and JESUS' warring Angels with me was reflected in the violent storm of wind, lightnings and heavy rain - the elements literal/y• resounded from the spiritual battle. I remember my dog, at the time, was wrapped around my legs (I sat at table) and was terni feed. She, (the dog) could see the battle being waged, and it was fierce, and was clinging to me for safety. The pattern in the GAP surfaced in this world.

THE POINT OF SHARING THIS?!?

When we battle demons in the GAP and `In The Spirit' it generally takes two years before what was done begins to surface in this world in real terms. But when demons reach into the third dimension of this world, having passed through the GAP (Ezekiel 22: 30), they are literally over head. Thus identified in the Bible, 'Satan as prince

of the air.'

It has been our experience over the years that when we engage (do battle) with demons in the third dimension there is usually some event that surfaces in this world that can be identified with the battle. We have given several examples of that here among a collection of other such events.

The demons threatening Christians in their own ground in 2010 were operating in the third dimension at ground level, not in the air. When we obtained God's Commission and Anointing to attack and destroy the threat, we obliterated scores of demons from December 2-4, 2010 which crippled their plans and effectively shut down the majority oftheir operations. They had violated our ground, broken boundaries where they had no right, but we were watching and caught them in the act.

The evidence of this prayer operation ("CRY JERUSALEM") came in a way we did not expect and it was Nancy-TONI who caught it on TV out of the mouth of the Secretary of Homeland Defense, Janet Napolitano on January 12, 2011.

"CRY JERUSALEM" Prayer Operation and January S, 2011 Tucson, Arizona: The January 8, 2011 massacre at Tucson, Arizona: Those who knew the shooter referred to him as a "left- leaning pothead " - and if we want to strip away the carnal viewpoints it is simple: this man was driven by demons to murder those people in Arizona.

Again, theyhad "license to kill" from the rebellious/prayerless church system of man.

When we prevented them from killing our own, they did what we saw in the GAP in 1987 - deprived of God's people to kill (whom we evacuated from the GAP) they turned on those in the beastman's camp, those in support of him. The bcastman's demons butchered them in our place.

were there any innocent among the victims (dead or injured)? Probably; however, we need keep in mind what is given in Revelation 18: 4: "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."

The paradox is this: The demons doing the killing were beastman Obama's demons doing his will - and he now ascends to the stage to make a heartfelt presentation in memory ofthe dead and injured, winning over many Americans who had turned from him.

Moving `In The Spirit' with the OMEGA Rapid Interception Group day by day I've noted a sudden sharp increase of demons present in the enemy ground areas - the demons are back on their feet/hooves and working to win over Americans to Obama's side.

Tragic Irony: The nine-year-old girl shot to death by the shooter (Jared Loughner)

was born on September 11, 2001 - the day of terror that plunged our nation into war.

Significance? The day of the murders, January 8, 2011, saw the Washington lots draw #198 - a known indication that masses of demons are entering into the U.S. and Canada. That aside, the most obvious is this: September 11, 2001 was a day of "terror", and so January 8, 2011 was also a day of "terror" - the source-power was the same: demonic.

The Paradox: On December 1-4, 2010 the Net of Prayer moved `In The Spirit' and

dealt a serious blow to demon power, destroying large numbers of demons and more, destroying out of this world dozens of demon principalities. This alone (destroying demon princes) would have a paralytic effect on the enemy's ability to co-ordinate and execute murderous/destructive plans.

The demons had trespassed and invaded our ground without cause and in Christ we brought them to account for their sins against all of us, Christ's children. Again, the name of this Prayer Operation was "CRY JERUSALEM", the name drawn from a scripture JESUS gave me, Jeremiah 14: 2d.

Here is the paradox: When on January 12, 2011 Homeland Security Secretar y Janet Napolitano arose to speak at the Tucson Memorial Service for the victims of the January 8 shootings she opted to quote scripture reading from the book of Isaiah 111

"CRY JERUSALEM" Prayer Operation(Continued) Chapter 40.

Nancy-TONI and I make it a point to listen to these kind of speeches to see what they are saying because sometimes there are hidden messages; sometimes there are not-sovery-subtle hidden meanings. Nancy-TONI immediately pointed out that Secretary Napolitano had just stated: "Jerusalem...Cry." That got my attention and so I read Isaiah 40 and noted this: "...Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and M unto her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is accomplished; for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins.. .But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew

their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40: 2, 31) Nancy-TONI and I discussed this and came to some conclusions: (1) This Scripture was wholly inappropriate to read at a Memorial Service. We believe that Secretary Napolitano simply took the word "comfort" and went to a concordance and drew out this scripture. If any of us were among the grieving families who lost loved ones killed, to hear Secretary Napolitano imply that they died for "their iniquity" and that it was the Lord who handed down this judgment would hardly be a "comfort."

(2) In the "Cry Jerusalem" Prayer Operation we completed the "warfare" by December 4, 2010, destroying numbers of demons and demon princes out of this world. The "iniquity" or "sins" of the enemy were that they violated our boundaries `In The Spirit' and we got occasion to deal them a severe blow. Before anyone knew anything past that there was a shooting January 8` h and that Congresswoman Giffords was shot, the left wing media began accusing and holding Sarah Palm, the Conservatives, the Tea Party members, the Republicans, Christians and Radio Talk shows and TV right wingers as being responsible for the act of violence on January 8, 2011. Their commentaries supposedly drove this shooter to do what he did. CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, (and others of the left wing media) began beating the drum of the dangers of the right wingers, pro-Constitutionalists, etc as being responsible for what Jared Loughner did. The assumption by the left wingers was that Loughner was a right winger, a member of the tea party and militia, etc.

THE TRUTH: Turns out that Jared Loughner did NOT watch TV or listen to political talk radio . More, he worshiped a skull in his back yard - was into some kind of occult belief system. Added to this, his favorite books were the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kamp (Hitler's book) so if he had any political leaning, it was clearly left.

Truth, facts mean nothing to the radical leftists - they continue to spew out their hatred and false accusations.

WHAT IS AHEAD: Attacks against Christians, Conservatives, Tea Party members, and Republicans are going to become common in 2011. Though the far left is lying, there is an old maxim that if you tell a Iie long enough people will begin to believe it.

Isaiah 40: 1 clearly identifies "CRY JERUSALEM", our prayer operation, that beat the pulp out of the demon armies. When Janet Napolitano read: "her iniquity is accomplished, received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins" - the enemy was referring to themselves not us. The enemy of our souls was literally "eating crow", not something they would do willingly.

WE GAINED ONE THIRD OF THE ENEMY GROUND As a result of what the enemy did, JESUS gave us ONE THIRD of the territory the enemy occupies in North America (Canada and the U.S.). One good effect of that has become visible in obvious ways. Vast, destructive and killer storms have swept the U.S. starting in 2011; however, news report distinctly mentioned that these storms are hitting 2/3rds of the U.S. - 1/3rd is untouched, spared. That is the third we hold right now. JESUS did allow me to learn that Lucifer is asking for this third back but has been told to wait. Then on January 19, 2011 JESUS spoke to me saying this:

Chuck-JOHNEL'S Health I've recovered most of my health and vitality since the surgery of June 2010 and like to say that, 'Tm about 98%", which is to say that there are a few small issues slowly resolving. Recovery is a gradual process. Thank you to all who have expressed concerns and hold me in their prayers. Your loving kindness is deeply appreciated.

The one area that is not so fast to heal has to do with all the accumulated woundings of the past years. These tend to hollow you out. As it says somewhere in scripture, "who can bear a wounded spirit (soul)?" Healing in this area takes time.

(Page 7) ...They restate the principle, first asserted in the Declaration of Independence, that God gives man rights and that the only legitimate purpose of government is to protect those rights.

Men create governments by consciously surrendering a portion of their Godgiven rights to government with the charge that such government is to protect the bulk of their rights. As Madison said, "Individuals entering into society must give up a shard of liberty to preserve the rest."

The danger that arises is that the government might go beyond the voluntarily granted powers and begin to exercise powers not granted, creating tyranny. (Page 146, 147) ...One radical voice that grew in popularity was that of Robert Barnwell Rhett of South Carolina. Following the election of 1856, he began to espouse independence for the South. He had a vision of the South achieving its "high mission" as an independent slaveholders' republic, larger in geographical size than all of Europe and enriched by its production of cotton. And Rhett had a vehicle to broadcast his views: control of the Charleston Mercury newspaper.

He and others who embraced radical views were known as the fire-eaters. Their creed was not just the protection of the right to own slaves but a view of democracy that was very foreign to that of most Americans. The fire-eaters believed not only in the superiority of whites over blacks but in the superiority of a handful of whites over all other whites, teaching that the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness were endowed to white Anglo-Saxons alone. They believed that men's natural condition was to be subjected by their betters, and that civilization rested on the ability of the superior few to enforce such inequality. In order to see this happen, they were willing to completely reject the notion of democracy and majority rule.

L.W. Spratt expressed the fire-eater position in this way: It is obvious that two distinct and antagonistic forms of society have met for the contest upon the arena of this Union. The one assumes that all men are equal and that equality is right, and, forming upon that theory, is straining its members to the horizontal plain of a democracy. The other assumes that all men are not equal, that equality is not right,

(Page 161, 162) ...In the North, John Brown took on the status of a Christ figure, his death provoking images of a hero willing to die for a righteous cause, his hanging generating fury against slavery and slaveholders. Notables such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Victor Hugo praised him as a hero and tried to obtain a pardon for him.

The response in the South to the hero-worship of a "murdering madman" was predictable. To the fire-eaters, it reinforced their argument: Democracy was not meant for those crazy enough to worship John Brown.

The fire-eaters became even more belligerent. They demanded that Congress pass a law guaranteeing slavery's protection in all of the Western territories as well as, unbelievably, the renewal of the slave trade. (Page 170) .The Russians became convinced that the United States had the ability to create a missile shield and that they did not, generating genuine fear in the minds of the Kremlin. At the time, the communistic leaders actually believed that the United States was an imperialist nation and that Ronald Reagan was an unstable man. For two years after the 1983 Strategic Defense Initiative speech, a surprise attack by the Americans was anticipated and an intelligence alert was in place. (Page 273) ...In a democracy, the government will never be better than the people who populate it. A government will never be better than what is expected or demanded of it by the people.

The Founders certainly understood that, in order for the government they were forming to be successful, a moral and virtuous people would be required. A sample of their thoughts on the subject includes: John Adams: "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

James Madison: "Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks窶馬o . form of government can render us secure. To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical* idea. " * Impossible/fooIish fantasy.

Benjamin Franklin: "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."

Finally, George Washington, in his farewell address to the nation, stated: "Of

In sum, a nation cannot live in freedom and liberty unless it is populated by a moral and virtuous people. That is true for any form of popular government, be it a republic, a democracy, or a mixture of the two. Government "of the people, by the people and for the people" demands a people possessed of private morality.

What does private morality consist of? Around that question there could be a lively debate; however, there are certain private virtues that seem to have been uniformly viewed as the marks of the moral person throughout history and in all civilizations. Ms. Luce's study and analysis of history revealed: "The `universal morality' is based on these virtues—truthfulness, honesty, duty, responsibility, unselfishness, loyalty, honor, compassion and courage." "Private or Universal morality" "Private or universal morality"is based on these virtues: truthfulness, honesty, duty, responsibility, unselfishness, loyalty, honor, compassion and courage." The Founding Fathers of our nation understood that any form of government that would secure liberty and happiness required that the people of that nation possess "private or universal morality." Lacking that neither freedom or happiness could survive.

GLENN BECK, in his book: " Broke" (Quoted)". . .Pcrhaps the most eye-opening warning about America's precarious position is from Tocqueville himself in 1840: (Quote) Having thus taken each citizen in turn in its powerful grasp and shaped him to its will, government then extends its embrace to include the whole of society. It covers the whole of social life with a network of petty, complicated rules that are both minute and uniform, through which even men ofthe greatest originality and the most vigorous temperament cannot force their heads above the crowd. It does not break men 's will, but softens, bends, and guides it; it seldom enjoins, but often inhibits, action; it does not destroy anything, but prevents much from being born; it is not at all tyrannical, but it hinders, restrains, enervates*, stifles, and stultifies so much that in the end each nation is no more than a flock of timid and hardworking animals with the government as its shepherd....
