The Emissary
The Bitter Cup
On March 20, 1971 the Lord's Angel appeared to me during my prayer time bearing a golden cup which the Angel presented to me, saying, "Take, drink; it will be bitter in your mouth, but sweet in your stomach." I received this golden cup and drank, and indeed it was bitter in my mouth, but lastly I was swept by a sweetness. This Angel appeared with that Bitter Cup every day thereafter for more than a year. I would come to know by the Spirit of God that this had to do with intense persecution. More I did not know. I was yielded to God's Will in this and continued receiving this Bitter Cup day after day for well more than a year's time.
