Restaurant - Wolfgang Puck Group - LV with Richardson Wetzel Architects//

A new fine dining concept by famed chef and restaurateur, Wolfgang Puck, Caramá is a tribute to his mother and chef, Maria. RWA worked closely with Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group’s designers, to conceive and deliver a refined yet whimsical dining venue. Located inside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, the design for this restaurant blends the warmth and charm of oldworld Italy with an elevated modern flare. RWA provided full-service architectural and engineering design services for this renovation of the previous much-loved Wolfgang Puck’s Lupo restaurant.

Restaurant - Arts District - Las Vegas with Richardson Wetzel Architects//

RWA was excited when a restaurateur approached us with the intention of renovating an old, vacant building into a high-end burger restaurant. We designed a space with an enclosed entry vestibule for the host stand and an arched opening into the main dining and bar area. The existing ceiling and plaster were removed to expose the original bow trusses and block walls. We paid special attention to wood selection, trim details, and lighting to design a contemporary, yet inviting, space.

Restaurant - Fremont St. - Las Vegas with Richardson Wetzel Architects//

RWA provided planning, architecture, and interior design services to create a vibrant dining experience within an aged, 7,000 square foot existing structure. With a low ceiling and minimal street presence, the original space was dark and uninviting. RWA’s transformative design cut through the roof to create a raised ceiling, with clerestory windows, above the bar at the center of the dining room. The front façade was replaced with wall-to-wall accordion fold glass doors which open to the patio dining area, allowing full engagement with the high volume of pedestrian traffic.

When new management purchased a once loved but now forgotten golf course, they reached out to RWA to design a new event center. The client wanted the space to host weddings, banquets, concerts, and other large events. The building also needed to accommodate golf cart storage and house a new spa and gym facility. The current design includes a restaurant, two full-service bars, and a rooftop garden filled with local desert plans and a golf simulator.

Residential - Desert//

Trio is a two-bedroom home located in a remote desert landscape. The three towering concrete walls, where Trio gets its name, help to both nest the house within the landscape, as well as protect it from the harsh desert sun.

The tallest concrete wall on the west side of the house takes the most abuse from the sun while allowing the house to be in the shade during the hottest part of the day. The thin south facade is equipped with a perforated metal screen held off the building to provide shade and prevent heat from entering the building.

The house is equipped with a car port, and exterior patio space off the main living floor with two bedrooms on the top floor.

_Desert Hut

Residential - Desert//

This is a small weekend getaway in the middle of the Nevada desert. The hut is lifted off the ground to have minimal impact on the landscape and its modular design allows for easy transportation of materials and assembly. Sleep sup to three and has a full kitchen. The structure is positioned facing north with a large attached deck to allow for the living space to be expanded to the outdoors. The large perforated metal screen is designed to hold the solar panels on top and also shade the building from direct sunlight.

_House In The Woods +

Residential - Forest//

This single-family home provides a remote living space tucked within nature. It is elevated off the ground to provide spectacular views of the surrounding area as well as accommodate a covered car park and outdoor space.

The middle living space is where most of the home is. The kitchen, living room, dining room and family room exist in a large open “U” shape that bends around a massive existing tree. The third floor is where the master bedroom and office are as well as the roof deck when you can spend time outside, within the tree canopy.

[11] _The Revenant

Residential - Downtown Henderson - NV with TSK//

Water Street in downtown Henderson NV is in a revitalization phase. New restaurants, businesses and with that, housing is currently in development in an area that hasn’t seen much attention in decades. At the city’s main intersection this multi-use building houses young professionals and provides the street level with public amenities like retail, dining and more.

Working closely with the city, it was important to keep adequate parking on the site and provide more green space while still meeting the clients budget. Composed mainly of single and double living units with a two penthouse units on the corner, The Revenant boosts city life and provides a fun and youthful environment.

[12] _Living Brooklyn

Residential - Downtown Brooklyn

Pratt GAUD//

How are individual buildings perceived in the urban landscape? What role do buildings play for those who do not occupy them, and what living condition does downtown Brooklyn need? Located in Downtown Brooklyn, this tower proves both living and work environments to the area. Its unique form stands in stark contrast to its context. Where you look and expect to see a building, it simply isn’t there. The building holds to the ends of the site creating a tensions void at the buildings center. The towers are composed of two story living units with multiple bedrooms and large shared spaces. The towers have nested work spaces to give the occupants the option to work from their unit, or with others in communal and collaborative work spaces that occur throughout the tower, many of which face towards the inconspicuous void that occupies the center of the larger tower.

[15] _W2E + Museum

Civic - St. Petersburg - Russia with Mor Segal at Pratt GAUD//

Located in Saint Petersburg, Russia this Waste to Energy facility hybridized with a Museum of the Senses sits on the district line separating industrial park from commercial and residential sectors. Pulling from vernacular brutalist architecture and elaborate Russian palaces, the building blurs the line between object, machine and museum.

Through a carefully planned processional sequence, visitors of the museum seamlessly experience the energy factory and the art exhibits cohesively. By using an architecture that is industrial and mechanical, but also detailed and of precious materials, it challenges the viewer by never quite allowing it to be fully understood. This ambiguity ties back into the buildings program to create a cohesive piece of architecture and experience for people to reflect on.
