Leadership course

“Organisation and Leadership (O&L)”

Target audience The main objective of O&L is to improve the knowledge, attitude, insight and skills (competencies) that are needed to manage a group of employees at a professional level. By improving knowledge and skills and becoming aware of their attitude as a manager, participants increase their span of control and span of coaching. The participants manage a group of employees, will start to manage in the short term or fulfil a coordinating role. Instructional format & learning environment “As a manager, you are often faced with the following dilemma: doing it yourself or having it done, as you are experienced in that practice.” The course uses theory, exercises, role-play, peer review, group discussions, self-reflection, video and knowledge transfer. The formula of theory, supported by lots of practice, gives the participant the opportunity to learn vital leadership skills. Approach & method of operation The course times are from 9am - 12 noon or from 3pm to 6pm or from 7pm to 10pm. The times have been chosen to follow shift work times as much as possible. These times may be deviated from, subject to consultation. The training is preferably organised at one of the participating companies or institutions.

Description of the course The internal coach & the Netpoint Coach The internal coach Each participant is, preferably, coached by his/her immediate supervisor or by a course coach appointed by the organisation. In order to maximise the effect of the course (transfer), the coach guides the participants during the course. This coaching process is managed from within the course using practical tasks. The role of the internal coach: 1. Point of support and reference for participants during the course 2. Contributing ideas on how to implement the newly gained knowledge and skills 3. Facilitating participants in the execution of practical tasks 4. Monthly meeting with the participants on progress, the subjects dealt with and the application of the newly gained skills in practice 5. Having a participant prepare, chair and evaluate a team meeting 6. Offering the participant the opportunity to keep minutes during a team meeting and to evaluate this with him/her 7. Facilitating participants in conducting formal discussions (if the participant is not yet doing this), such as performance reviews and leading team meetings, holding a presentation etc. 8. Formulating the course objectives and evaluating progress with participants 9. Supervising participants in the execution of practical tasks 10. Assessing the practical tasks If required, a Coaching workshop will be organised for the course coaches in preparation. The course coach is an important link in the realization of a successful learning process of key tasks and work processes. The Netpoint coach During the course, the Netpoint coach will conduct three coaching interviews. These interviews will be attended by the participant, the internal coach and the Netpoint coach. Subjects in these coaching interviews include: 1. Formulating the training objectives 2. Evaluation of learning results and the internal coaching process 3. Assessing the transfer of the training for the participant. The execution of the key tasks and work processes are discussed in the final coaching interview. External coaching increases the transfer and yield of the course. Course themes Main theme through all modules is gaining insight, leading by example, flexibility, management and entrepreneurism. This will result in a positive attitude change of the participant. The course contains four principal themes: 1. Communication & behaviour 2. Situational leadership 3. Organising & working together 4. Managing changes & conflicts

We carry out analyses, (needs) assessments, consultations, training programmes, courses and (personal) coaching routes for teams and individuals from top to bottom in the organisation. Thanks to our no-nonsense approach we have been making a name for ourselves in the supervision and execution of projects and processes in relation to training & education, consultancy, organisational advice, coaching and interim management ever since 1997. We are a flexible organisation located in the Eastern part of the Netherlands and operate throughout the country. We use the head to deliver expertise, insight and professionalism, whereas the heart brings out our passion, emotion and commitment.
