Play Events Throughout the year, our events on The Square provide fun activities for childen of all ages. Every Wednesday in school holidays and selected Saturdays. This year our Saturday events include special activites for: National Science & Engineering Week - March 10th Curious: A Meeting of Science and Art May Day - May 5th Maypoles and Mayflowers Museums at Night - May 19th Film: ‘A Night at the Museum’ at the Museum Barnstaple Elephant Day - July 7th Family activities and our Elephant Parade Heritage Open Days - Sept 8th Find out how to make Paper Buildings The Big Draw - Oct 6th Chalk and drawing on the Square Bonfire Night - Nov 3rd Remember Remember, storytelling and more All events are free, but donations of £1 per participant are welcomed.

If you have particular access requirements please get in touch to let us know how we can help. The ground floor of the museum is wheelchair accessible, the first floor can be reached by stairlift. Disabled parking is available close by the museum, please call for further details. Mon - Sat, 10am - 5pm (closing at 4pm in winter) Closed from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day inclusive.

Tea Room Regulars Come in and enjoy Reminiscence Mondays or Crafty Fridays. We also run Kids’ Wednesdays so you can bring your toddlers for a fun time at the museum.
