STRATEGIES
1. PROGRAMMATIC (top) Volumes are grouped according to the relationships in program. Like the Site Construction Strategy, this model is built to maximize views into the valley from high-traffic areas. It is further arranged according to sun paths. 2. TYPOLOGICAL (bottom) In this iteration, the two units are further engaged with the topograpy of the site. The first level of each is partially submerged and the driveway is carved from the ground. The topography is repeated on the second and third floors, as well as the rooftop, in the form of stepped green spaces. 3. URBAN An outdoor seating area unites the house and its two neighbors. 4. TECTONIC (next page) Corners are emphasized by placing windows near them, but not allowing the edge to dissolve. The windows also emphasize various vertical alignments between levels.
