CONNECT For 30 years, Toronto’s Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre has informed and inspired hundreds of thousands across Ontario through its museum and a vast array of resources and dynamic programs.
RESOURCES The Frank and Anita Ekstein Holocaust Resource Collection consists of nearly nine thousand volumes of books and an array of films, pedagogical materials and oral and written testimonies. We provide schools with Educational Resource Trunks which contain books, films, lesson plans, maps, and artefact kits. commemorative and educational programming including Holocaust Education Week, Raoul Wallenberg Day, International Holocaust Remembrance Day and Yom HaShoah. We offer unique programming for students, youth and young professionals.
our Centre are artefacts from our collection, as well as a photographic exhibition of Holocaust survivor speakers at the Neuberger. Every year, thousands of students experience Holocaust survivor testimony, either in our museum or during educational symposia, workshops and Holocaust Education Week programs. Our Student Symposia on the Holocaust offer opportunities for senior and middle school students to experience important new pedagogical developments in Holocaust education. Our Bar and Bat Mitzvah of Remembrance Program is an opportunity for Jewish youth coming of age to incorporate Holocaust remembrance into their milestone.
HOLOCAUST EDUCATION WEEK is an inclusive week of educational programming each November. The Neuberger’s annual signature series, HEW features distinguished presenters from international centres of excellence, Holocaust survivor testimony, and artistic, music, literary, cultural and academic programming exploring a central theme.
