Through its museum and programs, the Sarah and Chaim Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre generates knowledge and understanding about the Holocaust and serves as a forum for dialogue about civil society for present and future generations.
THE HALL OF MEMORIES in our museum offers an opportunity to pay tribute to loved ones killed during the Holocaust by dedicating a tile in their memory. A space for reflection, it illuminates one special artefact within: a Torah scroll rescued from destruction during Kristallnacht, on November 9-10, 1938. For information about dedicating a tile, visit us online at holocaustcentre.com/Museum/Hall-ofMemories. For the most up-to-date info on current and upcoming programs, visit us at holocaustcentre.com

REMEMBRANCE
REMEMBER For 30 years, Toronto’s Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre has informed and inspired hundreds of thousands across Ontario through its museum and a vast array of resources and dynamic programs.
THE NEUBERGER HOLOCAUST EDUCATION CENTRE MARKS DAYS OF REMEMBRANCE at a number of commemorative programs annually. Join us to ensure that the victims of the Holocaust are remembered, and that future generations will never forget this rupture in the history of humankind.
YOM HASHOAH V’HAGVURAH (Holocaust Remembrance Day) is designated by the State of Israel on the Hebrew date of 27 Nisan. The community joins together in our annual memorial service, presented with the support of other committed organizations throughout the GTA. KRISTALLNACHT Each November, the Neuberger’s Holocaust Education Week culminates with our annual Kristallnacht commemoration. It marks the destruction wrought upon the Jewish communities in the German Reich on November 9-10, 1938, with a lecture and solemn candle-lighting ceremony.
RAOUL WALLENBERG DAY was designated by the Government of Canada in 2001. Wallenberg is honoured for with working collaboratively with other diplomats to save the lives of tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews. He disappeared on January 17, 1945. The Neuberger presents an annual film program in recognition of Wallenberg, Canada’s first honorary citizen. INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY January 27 marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated this day as an annual day of commemoration to honour the victims of the Nazi era. Each year the Neuberger coordinates programming to remember the victims of National Socialism.

BAR/BAT MITZVAH OF REMEMBRANCE Approximately 1.5 million Jewish children were murdered in the Holocaust, many before they reached the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The Neuberger’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah of Remembrance Program gives students between the ages of 11-13 a way to honour the memory of those children. REMEMBRANCE ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS The Neuberger’s Legacy Committee provides important opportunities for young professionals (ages 20-40) to gather, remember and learn in a stimulating, collaborative milieu. In addition to the annual Legacy Symposium, a highlight event during Holocaust Education Week, the group presents film screenings, lectures and a study tour. EXPERIENCE JEWISH LIFE IN VIENNA is a study tour for young professionals to encounter Vienna’s current Jewish community in the context of the city’s dark past while dialoguing with community members, civic leaders, academics and peers about the future.
