Mission:
To be the premier publication source that bridges the gap between young athletes, their parents, coaches, teachers and life through awareness and education that will help lead them to a successful future.
Goal:
At UnderRated National Youth Magazine, our goal is to build up youth football and its coaches around the world, forming a youth covenant with teams and coaches everywhere, helping to deposit character and self-esteem in our kids before society does. We believe that one day youth football, from coast to coast, will be bigger than high school football and that kids will have more opportunities to play in nationally televised games. One day every youth football player will be able to quote our UnderRated creed.... “UR SOMEONE. UR SPECIAL. UR A BELIEVER. UR THE ONE LOOKING AT U IN THE MIRROR, SO THAT THE ONLY THING U HAVE TO OVERCOME IS U.” We will feature kids from five years old up to 12 years old on the cover and through out the magazine. This national magazine is dedicated to them.
Programs: Under Rated Programs are designed so that each team and state that’s featured will receive several hundred copies of our magazine for the month for a fund raiser for their specific team. UnderRated Programs are designed so that each team and state that’s featured will receive several hundred copies of that issue to be used as a fundraiser for their specific team. Yes, this magazine is totally free and will be sent to whichever team is featured for that month. Each team will have the option to sell it, for $5 a copy, to support their organization. The option to subscribe online, or by mail, will be available soon.

Makes Winning Easy! Introducing world-renowned dropout expert and philanthropist, Stephán “Coach Q” Askew, and his latest book How easy is it to win? Is it something you’re born with? Or can it be taught? In the new book “The Mindset of a Champion,” renowned dropout expert and philanthropist, Stephán “Coach Q” Askew, teaches his readers that winning is fundamental. This self-motivating booklet (23 pp., $5.99) makes it easy for any young athlete, or student of life, to understand and apply simple principles to beat the everyday challenges they may face.
Coach Q’s resume boasts of many accolades including being a two-time recipient of the “National Youth Coach of the Year” Award, and being named one of Essence Magazine’s “Do Right Men” (2006), just to mention a couple. Currently, Coach Q is marketing other motivational products such as his first manuscript, “Destined to Succeed,” and his latest audio product, To My Young Men. Additionally, Coach Q will continue hosting his national youth-focused radio show, Ask Coach Q Radio, and the soon-to-come television show, Teens Talk.
By comparing the five starting players of a basketball team to five characteristics, Coach Q’s teaching method displayed in “The Mindset of a Champion” is simply brilliant. “Just like it takes five key players to form the starting team, it will take five key characteristics to make the most important team: Life’s Starting Five.” This short read is equipped with an instructional workbook that will challenge the young reader to be confident in developing a purpose and plan for their lives even when the odds are against them. Whether purchased for a faith-based or secular youth group, summer camp, school organization, or individual, “The Mindset of a Champion” proves to be a winner! Coach Q is the Founder and CEO of the Q Foundation, Inc., which is best known for mentoring, youth athletics, after-school and summer programs, as well as GED and job placement assistance.

T
he name Daryl Gardener is a familiar one to NFL fans, as well it should be. Gardener’s football career as a Defensive Tackle began at Baylor University and took him on to play with the Miami Dolphins, the Washington Redskins, and the Denver Broncos, before he retired. Besides his love of football, Daryl has always had a strong passion for kids and he volunteered at Big Brothers and Big Sisters and at the Juvenile Detention Center during his off time from the NFL. The Guardian Ad Litem, voices for Florida’s Abused and Neglected Children Foundation, Inc., recognized Daryl R. Gardener, in October 2000, and awarded him with the prestigious Phillip Hammersmith Award for his outstanding contributions to abused and neglected children. Daryl’s commitment was more than just spoken words when he said, “Every abused or neglected

Proud of both of her boys, Cheri says football is in their blood. “Both boys started football in Kindergarten and we’re now in our eighth year with Jenks Trojan Athletics. My husband coaches, and I get to do all of the other stuff that goes along with being Team Mom for both boys’ teams. Thankfully, I have another mom who helps out immensely! On Saturdays we’re usually gone from home for ten to twelve hours, often hitting four or five games (our games, our friend’s games, or scouting the next week’s opponents) and riding in the car for four or five hours. Luckily, I’m one of those moms that can’t sit still—I cheer for everything, and my boys tell me that I yell ‘Go Baby!’ way too much! I help Coach Allen Trimble, from Jenks High School, gather JTA info for the Trimble Show each week during the season and have served on the JTA Board as website coordinator. Football fanatics?
