LETTER FROM GREG LANE

reetings from The Club at Rock Creek, an entirely new kind of private community, located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. What makes Rock Creek different? Recreationally, we focus on a

broad range of fun and healthy outdoor activities. Let’s face it, most communities with a great golf course tend to revolve around golf. What sets Rock Creek apart is that, yes, we have a great golf course (a sensational one in fact, designed by heralded architect Tom Weiskopf ), but we understand that many men, women and children do not live by golf alone. They also like to hike, bike, run, waterski, kayak, canoe, sail, ride horses, bird watch, fish, hunt, climb mountains, shoot

skeet, skate, cross-country ski, ride zip lines, take pictures, draw, paint, cook and bask in the utter breathtaking beauty that surrounds them. Did I miss anything? Probably. Rock Creek and Coeur

d’Alene offer all of the above and more in a remarkably beautiful setting. The Lake Coeur d’Alene region is among the most gorgeous places not only in the United States, but the entire world. Meanwhile the city is healthy and its culture is thriving. Downtown is alive with restaurants and bistros, art galleries, antique shops and apparel shops. There’s nearly always something interesting happening – a festival, fair, farmers market, concert, art show or special events like the Car d’Lane auto show, the Coeur d’Alene Marathon, Oktoberfest and Dog D’Alene. Of course, a critical element of any great community is the people who chose to make it their home. If you enjoy living an active, outdoor life, if you love the type of energy emanated by a quaint yet cosmopolitan city, you’ll find like-minded neighbors here. We invite you to visit and find out for yourself what makes living at Rock Creek so extraordinary on so many levels. Sincerely,

Greg Lane

Coeur d’Alene…

Many Nicknames, ONE BEAUTIFUL PLACE

T

he lake and city are named for the Coeur D’Alene Indian tribe, which was named by French-speaking fur traders. The traders

considered the Indians especially shrewd and savvy businessmen, thus ”coeur” means heart and “alene” means awl, meaning their hearts were as sharp as an awl. Today the city is known as a friendly, thriving center of recreation, culture and commerce. Community activities abound year-round including the Downtown Street Fair, Oktoberfest and the cleverly named Car d’Alene — a classic automobile weekend held every June. The Coeur D’Alene Arts & Culture Art Alliance sponsors numerous free events including the ArtWalk, and Music Walk – each one a stroll through downtown to celebrate the work of local artists and musicians, with numerous galleries, restaurants and shops lending support.

Looking for Adventure? Look No Further.

I

t’s a myth that the denizens of Rock Creek don’t own couches. They do. But they don’t use them much, not with the multitude of adventures

waiting right outside their front door. On land, on water, out in the country or in town, there’s always something great to do, and nearly all of it involves being outside, under the sky, in the breeze and sunshine. If you aren’t lacing up your spikes for a round of golf, you’re no doubt slipping on a pair of walking shoes. If you aren’t pulling a golf cap onto your head, you’re likely tightening the strap of a bike helmet under your chin. Biking, hiking, walking, bird watching, sailing and waterskiing are all in easy reach of your front doorstep. For the more adventurous, we’re installing a zip line, and of course for the more sedate there’s an 800 foot stretch of community beach for unparalleled relaxation.

Imagine the home of your dreams in a superior setting.
