International Business and Business Administration, Class of 2013 Stephanie was a double major and had an internship that she considers a perfect match with her career plans: she was an International Trade Associate with the U.S. Department of Commerce office in Philadelphia. This internship provided both career experience and job contacts — especially valuable in an era when networking is crucial. She will pursue a career in international trade or corporate management.

Robert Fisher Sport Management, Class of 2010 A Sport Management graduate, Robert came to Neumann unsure of his academic abilities, but found a personalized environment in which he could thrive. In his fourth semester he made the Dean’s list and never looked back. Through cross-enrollment with area colleges, Neumann students may enroll in ROTC and, upon graduation, earn commissions as officers in our nation’s military. Both the Army and Air Force offer assistance programs, including full-tuition scholarships.

Christine had always been interested in broadcasting and wanted to gain experience. In addition to getting an internship at BEN-FM, one of Philadelphia’s major radio stations, Christine worked as on-air talent with her own show on Neumann Radio every Thursday evening. It’s one of the many ways Christine was involved in campus life, and one of the many ways she’s growing — as a person, and as an emerging professional in her field.

Alicia Anglin

Serving as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Staff for the City of Wilmington, DE, G. Stephen Williams knows hard work pays off. He credits the work he did and the people he met while a student at Neumann.

In a perfect follow up to her education, Alicia works at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) in the toxicology lab. She participates in community service through various activities. It’s a balance — of work and service — that she learned at Neumann and will carry with her the rest of her life.

Illuminating.

STUDENT FACULTY RATIO 14:1

Engaged, Passionate and Responsive. You’ll spend a lot of time intensely focused in class – and that’s not a threat. Academic life boils down to the dynamism of the professors and the passion for which they teach their particular topic. Neumann professors are well known for their depth of knowledge on a given subject. They are also known for a few characteristics they share with their students: unbridled curiosity, unlimited energy and an open mind. Neumann professors know that the success of their students — and their success as educators — will be based on the strength of the personal connections they make with each of their students. That’s a very Neumann thing.

Making Waves. Service and Good Works Are How We Breathe. Giving back is so ingrained in our culture at Neumann that it transcends being a student activity and is part of the flow of everyday life here. We don’t measure or qualify service by the scale of any particular project. While we do national and community service missions — it’s also the small personal measures of kindness and giving for which Neumann students are so admired. They seek to have a positive affect on their world and they understand that every selfless act of kindness ripples out to touch someone who might need it. Elizabeth Blevin

Elementary and Special Education, Class of 2014 Elizabeth Blevin is one busy young woman. When she’s not focused on preparing for her teaching career, she is immersed in a variety of campus and community activities. She coordinates the University tutoring program at Drexel Neumann Academy, a Catholic school in Chester. She is also the newly elected president of Ally, the campus club that promotes equality for students regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. Through Campus Ministry, Elizabeth volunteers for the Heart of Camden project, giving hope to the poorest city in America. “I want to teach on the elementary level when I graduate and become involved in the community, just like I have been at Neumann.”

Whitley Kels

Business Administration, Class of 2014 For Whitley Kels, a junior business administration major from Philadelphia, it’s all about giving back. And she sees Neumann University as the perfect place to start. Through service projects offered to Neumann students, Kels has been able to experience the plight of those in need. “I just want to give back. I’ve been blessed my whole life and I’d like to give back to those not as fortunate. In my future, I can see myself running an organization to help the homeless.”

BY THE VOLUNTEERS. CHILDREN LEARNING AND REACHING EXCELLENCE, THE C.L.A.R.E. PROGRAM, IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS TO GIVE A HELPING HAND WITH THE STUDENTS IN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS IN THE CHESTER AREA. STUDENTS HELP THE CHILDREN WITH HOMEWORK, AS WELL AS MODEL DESIRED BEHAVIOR BY TAKING PART IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. THE MISSION OF HEART OF CAMDEN IS TO RESTORE THE DIGNITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE WATERFRONT SOUTH COMMUNITY THROUGH PROGRAMS FOR HOUSING RESTORATION, ECONOMIC EXPANSION AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. WE VISIT TWICE A MONTH —TYPICALLY THE FIRST AND SECOND SATURDAY.

INTERCOLLEGIATE TEAMS COMPETE IN THE NCAA DIVISION III

It’s an expression of tough love when we hit the field. We have all intentions of winning big — but not at any cost. The value of sport is held within the heart — and spoken through sweat, practice, more practice, teamwork and comradery. We have no sport without spirituality, and Neumann athletes are as intense with their compassion as they are with their competitiveness. The most important moment of the game is always the cross team handshake when it’s all over.

Money Logic. Your Calculations Are Correct: Neumann Is a Good Value. Neumann University is committed to making a great education affordable. To that end, our tuition is among the lowest of all private colleges in greater Philadelphia and the Northeast. More than 98% of Neumann students receive some form of financial aid. The University awards more than $15 million in institutional aid and processes more than $48 million in financial aid each year. We’re good at it. Our webpage has many answers; if you do not find yours, please submit an inquiry. The following are some typical scenarios for families trying to get an overview of the financial aid landscape:
