Above: Jenny: Ag Awareness Day
October 10th, 2024 our Nevada FFA Chapter had our annual ag awareness day. Days in advance we took time to select presenters who would present over different animals, this year we had rabbits, pigs, cattle, chickens, and horses; along with those, we had non-animal topics such as ATV safety, farm machinery, FFA knowledge, farm and tool safety, and fishing, hunting, and trapping. We brought the kids over on a hay ride with Mr. Eric Scheider driving the tractor, and the kids were also assigned a group leader who would take them around and stay at their station for 5 minutes.
Above: Sydnee Baldwin: Area 9 Chapter Officer Training
On August 29th, 2024 the Nevada FFA Chapter officers went to Carl Junction and attended Area 9 officer training. While all of us officers were there, we learned a lot about how to lead our FFA chapter to be the best and most functioning it could possibly be. We did a lot of activities to help us open our minds for this 2024-2025 school year and just get a different perspective on how we could run our chapter.
During FFA Week the Nevada FFA Chapter will participate in a host of activities.
Feb 17th – Fun day at the Trampoline park at CJ and dinner as a chapter Feb 18th – Teacher appreciation breakfast FFA members will prepare and deliver breakfast to Nevada R-V staff as a
thank you for all they do Feb 19th – Businessman’s Luncheon – This is a thank you lunch for parents, boosters, and community members who support our members though out the year. This year is a chicken strip dinner with fries and slaw.

THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE IS OUR YOUTH
We salute our local FFA chapters for all of their hard work and dedication in the field of agriculture. FFA, an organization committed to making a positive difference in the lives of students, teaches young adults discipline, responsibility and leadership both on and off the farm. During National FFA Week, we salute the agricultural leaders of tomorrow for their many contributions to the growth of our community.
NEVADA FFA
members will be working the second-grade students at Webber Elementary to teach some lessons about local agriculture.
Feb 21st Drive your tractor to school and donuts and coffee in the Ag shop Feb 23rd – FFA Sunday members will attend a church service together
Left: Rhett: Officer Retreat
This past July, our Nevada FFA officer team dedicated a day to planning activities for the upcoming school year, laying the foundation for a successful and engaging term. Following our session, we left for a memorable trip to the Johnson’s Shut-Ins and Elephant Rocks state parks in southwest Missouri. This retreat was designed to strengthen the bonds within our newly formed team. This opportunity helped to reflect our individual goals for the chapter and foster a connection with our new advisor, Brett Neil. We got to see each other’s leadership styles and find out Mr. Neil’s aspirations for the future of Nevada FFA. Ultimately, this proved to be a crucial step in uniting our team and energizing us for the 2024-2025 school year.
Left Bottom: Carissa Stong: August Meeting
For the first meeting of the school we had a water wars in August. We had a meal and meeting before we headed outside to play water games. The games we had was water ballon dodge ball, spike ball and ladder golf. The meeting went from 6 to 8 and then everyone helped clean up. This meeting was a great way for the freshman to get a sense of FFA and for the members to meet us officers and other members.
Seth Minor(Left) Coleton Ramsey(Right) were learning about building structures. They were building a dog house. In this photo they are measuring and putting tin on the outside of the house. At our barnwarming, we dance, eat food and play games. In this photo we had members competing for prizes by eating an oreo with no hands.

Sheldon FFA kicked off the school year with the Missouri Farmers Care Drive to Feed Kids at the State Fair and the annual Sheldon Picnic tractor pull concession stand. Next came Fruit and Meat sales to help fund our yearly trip to National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mrs. Heard and six of our members traveled to the convention with six other area schools. While in Indianapolis, the chapter toured a chocolate fac-
tory, a historical farm, and an apple orchard as well as attended convention sessions and listened to motivational speakers. Other fall events included Area Officer Training, Area Greenhand Conference, Mt. Vernon Career Exploration Day and a Chapter Christmas Party. Two of our members have had the opportunity to be involved in the Show Me Youth Ag Academy. Show Me Youth Ag Academy was founded in August of 2021 and op-
erates through a 501c3 foundation to provide extended learning opportunities in beef production, financial management, and sales and marketing. Students are engaged in the experiences of running an actual beef enterprise that includes a cow/ calf operation on a 169 acre farm owned by the Academy near Milford. Students are involved in the procurement of young Akaushi sired cattle which are all vaccinated and weighed by
the students and placed in a 400 head grower to finisher feedlot. Members involved this year are Baylee Thogmartin and McKenzy Hart. Since the spring semester has started, our freshman have attended District Greenhand Motivational Conference in Springfield. Members

Members helped pack family-sized portions of single dish meals to help neighbors in need. Together, 193,084 meals were packed for food insecure Missouri families.
FEBRUARY
The Bronaugh FFA chapter began the 2024-2025 school year by designing and decorating a float for the Bronaugh Fall Festival. With the theme of “The Bronaugh Coop,” students worked diligently in the shop, applying their creativity to bring the float to life. Their efforts were rewarded with first-place recognition for their outstanding float design.
Following the Fall Festival, the chapter initiated its annual fundraiser, which serves as the primary source of funding for attendance at the National FFA Convention. In conjunction with this, an opportunity to travel with two other chapters arose. Mrs. Jones and eight students attended the convention in Indianapolis, where they had the opportunity to tour Show Me Genetics, Amos Hill Industries, and Tuttle Orchard. During these tours, students gained valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes processes involved in apple cider production and the manufacturing of various apple products.
In addition to these activities, the Bronaugh FFA chapter co-hosted a successful canned food drive throughout the school. Partnering with FCCLA, our FFA members collected food to provide meals and snacks for local families during the Christmas break. Our FFA Officers also participated in ProAg Awareness Day in collaboration with the Liberal FFA chapter. This event allowed us to provide a heifer and other educational resources to local fifth graders, helping to expand their understanding of various agricultural topics.
Since returning from the Christmas break, the Bronaugh FFA chapter has remained highly active. Freshman members attended the District Greenhand Motivational Conference in Springfield, where they engaged with their peers and enhanced their leadership skills. As we approach the busy contest season, the chapter is also preparing for an exciting FFA Week.
For FFA Week, the chap ter has planned a variety of engaging events: ● Sunday: FFA Sunday

El Dorado Springs FFA Chapter has 132 current members. Our advisors are Cameron Hargrove and Amy Green. Members are taught life skills, academics, and how to interact with community members. Some of our main events we do are Penny Wars, Chapter Barnwarming, Mum sales, FFA CDE lock in, FFA week, and community service. During this year’s mum sales, we sold 3,000 mums. The members go around town, ask friends, and family to raise money for the Ag department. During our activities all members show their leadership, social, and communication skills with other FFA members. Here at El Dorado Springs FFA Chapter, we focus on leadership and responsibilities that come our way. The members are expected to have a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) which is a project, entrepreneurship or placement, where they are focused on gaining career-based skills and responsibilities. We focus a lot on our achievements at El Dorado Springs. This year, we have had 10 State Degrees, 8 American Degrees, 2 area officers, 1 state placing speaker, and 9 proficiency winners. If you have 10+ acres of timber, we may be able to help! Our local hardwoods are in demand for flooring, furniture, gunstocks, barrels and more!
Our Logging crews are certified by Missouri Forest Products Assoc., the Missouri Department of Conservation, and used by Kansas DNR.
Our sawmill has been in business since 1948, employing LOCAL people and putting dollars into the LOCAL economy, not shipping US logs and lumber to China.
We are glad to provide references, and will come to your property to give you a clear idea of how much your timber could pay, either cash up front or in shares as the harvest progresses. We provide WRITTEN contracts to protect both parties.
