Salary: 1st Shift (7am-7pm) - $17.75 hourly, with an increase to $19.62 hourly upon completion of training

2nd Shift (7pm-7am) - $19.75 hourly, with an increase to $21.62 hourly upon completion of training

Overtime hours pay at the rate of time and one half ($26.62 - $32.43 per hour)

Southwest Community Services in Nevada, MO as openings for Behavioral Technicians. Training will be provided with the expectation that the training be completed within the first three months of hire. Upon completion of training, salary will increase to be effective for the next pay period.

Responsibilities:

This position: provides care to individuals in the crisis program; assists individuals in meeting their daily needs; transports individuals to appointments and activities; provides a safe environment for individuals; provides positive behavioral support; monitors and ensures implementation of treatment plans; assists in the completion of behavior analytic data collection and assessments; teaches individuals skills identified in their individual support plan and behavioral support plan which may include but are not limited to coping skills, self-management strategies, functional communication training, as well as daily living skills (hygiene, grooming, social interactions, meal preparation, food purchases, housekeeping, laundry, dressing, bathing, toileting, feeding, etc.); ensures accurate completion of all required documentation on assigned shift; assists in providing basic health care (taking and recording vitals, administering medication, recognizing and reporting medical concerns and/or emergencies); implements interventions to keep all individuals safe including the use of physical restraint when needed; maintains detailed progress notes and collection of health and behavioral data.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Must successfully complete training within three months of hire; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate patience and compassion; exhibit ability to think quickly and act calmly in an emergency; communicate clearly and effectively; maintain friendly and open demeanor at all times.

Eligibility:

High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license; 1 year of relevant work experience (substitutions education for work experience may be allowed).
