pawiro burger jawa (2016-2019) PAWIRO Burger Jawa is a small burger restaurant in Yogyakarta. It serves burgers, which are hand made from local ingredients. I designed the logo for PAWIRO Burger Jawa in 2016 taking inspiration from blangkon, a traditional head dress for Javanese men. I incorporated the blangkon and turned it into the top bun of a burger. The colours chosen as the colour palette were fun with a little bit of a retro feeling, and fits perfectly as the colours of a burger. In 2019, I designed graphics that can be used as fillers in PAWIRO Burger Jawa’s social media feed. The graphics’ theme revolved around burger and Java. I created hand illustrated icons of burger fillings, used lurik pattern (stripe pattern that are usually used for surjan, Javanese traditional clothes), and even used Aksara Jawa (Javanese script) for typography posters.
