The reality is that there really is no one-type fits all. After all, the type of knife that’s perfect for you largely depends upon the type of usage you have in mind. With that considered, this here is the criteria for the perfect knife (for you!)Confused between which one is the best? Here’s the answer… There are a bunch of different kinds and fists of knives that are used for a bunch of different purposes, and probably the earliest tools ever invented by humans. Even the ancient knives were made from stones and remains the same principle for today. But nowadays they are made from metal or hardened steel which are composed for durability, strength and there superior sharpness. So first and foremost you need to get to know the different types that there are in the market. The most popular of all is the folder knives, they are the ones that your granddad always used and the ones that the blade retracts inside the handle to store it safely when not in use, another name that might sound familiar is the pocket knife. Then there is the fixed blade which are more stable, typically there are screws to hold the blade in place and attached to the handle to make them more durable. The handles on fixed blades are sometimes custom designed with ivory, animal horn, silver, brass, wood and even some in plastics. You just need to decide between the two, if you are using it for hunting they make both fixed and folding, which are also known as buck knives and pocket knife, with that the fixed blades are more sturdy and suited to use on larger game. There are even utility knives for cooking and or kitchen use, but are specifically designed just for that, they are used on things such as filleting, boning, slicing and also used by top chefs throughout the country. These types are usually not very strong or even sturdy enough for anything else but their purpose and the blades are a lot thinner. They are especially great for slicing meats and breads and also filleting fish. Now we all know that their are some knives used for camping and some for combat and/or tactical, which are bigger and composed of a very strong metal like forged steel. Although they are strong, but designed for cutting very tough material and also commonly used in military personnel for a general purpose tool and combat weaponry. These types of knives usually come with a sheath made of leather for holding the knife. Because they are so much larger and have longer blades, it’s not recommended to use them for cutting small things. Last but not least there are precision knives, they have very small razor thin blades and thin handles that look similar to a pencil, may also be known as an X-Acto. These are ideal only for cutting thin cardboard and paper but most common for use in hand crafting and hobbyist or any other tiny specialized jobs like cutting plastic model pieces apart to build. But either way they all are already part of your life and used for all kinds of purposes, it’s just very important to understand the different types, but also as important that you need to familiarize yourself with

the options there are to determine which one fits you best in your type of situation. Of course this makes finding the best one quite challenging, since there are so many to choose from and you might need to expect their are some that are more expensive than others, like hunting knives or gut hook knives, which those types are really great for when you are cleaning big game animals after the kill.
