Editor's note In Luke 2:7 the Bible reads, “And she brought forth
her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” If you didn’t know who the baby was in that manger in Bethlehem 2000 years ago that verse might seem pretty insignificant. But if you know who Jesus is, the saviour of the world, that is one of the most remarkable events in human history. The Birth of Jesus was the fulfilment of thousands
As believers, that opens a door for us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people around us who may not be as open to listening as during other parts of the year. Christmas is also a busy time, a very busy time. If we are not intentional with our time during the Christmas season, the busyness can take over and the season can slip away without us ever really reflecting on the meaning of Christmas and the significance of the celebration.

By God’s grace and through faith in his Son Jesus Christ we can be rescued from the penalty of sin. Every year on 25 December billions of people celebrate Christmas. In our culture, there are many people who celebrate the holiday without any real understanding of the significance of the birth of Jesus and what it means for each of us as an individual.
It is our hope that you will be encouraged to be intentional with your time and not let the true reason we celebrate be overshadowed by the busyness of the season. With that in mind, we hope that this Christmas guide will give you some ideas to help you save some time so you can spend more time with family and friends reflecting on what we celebrate, the birth of our Saviour.

HISTORY OF THE CHRISTMAS CARD
A CHRISTMAS TRADITION Giving.. perhaps the heart of Christmas. So, it's small surprise that giving and receiving Christmas cards is a Christmas tradition even today. The only differences today are the way cards are sent and received. Technology has made a huge impact on the delivery of all mail, especially cards and letters. Today, you can send cards by email and have them delivered instantly to anywhere in the world.

SENDING CARDS The first Christmas cards were delivered in London, England in 1843. It was not until 1875 that the first Christmas card appeared in the United States. And 1879, the first Australian Christmas cards were designed and sold.
With the advent of computers, mailing Christmas cards via the postal service has declined. Even so, there are almost 2 billion cards mailed each Christmas. It is one Christmas tradition which won't go away too quickly. Help your kids make their own personal Christmas cards.
