Emma’s paintings always begin with the sea: it is the foundation and focal point of all her work, and in this new collection she sets out to capture the joy experienced by those of us who respond to the particular beauty of the ocean at St Ives Bay. In a palette of bright colours, she explores the ever-changing details of the bustling bay, its shapes and patterns, and its endless ocean shades of blue, green and grey.
