Welcome A week of Playback Theatre with ensembles from around the world performing in many languages We welcome London’s diverse audiences to London’s New Diorama Theatre in this our Olympic year. Playback Theatre is an original form of improvisational theatre that invites true stories from the audience, and re-enacts these with artistry & respect as spontaneous improvisation. The performance is co-created with the audience. Since the first Playback Theatre Company in 1975, this remarkable form has mushroomed around the world with community theatre groups and professional ensembles performing in social, educational, therapeutic and corporate contexts. True Heart Theatre is London’s Chinese Community-based Playback Theatre company working multilingually. We have pleasure in hosting this unique event with our friends from around the world. We are members of the International Playback Theatre Network & Company Partners of the Centre for Playback Theatre. We are also engaged in a pan-European Grundtvig-funded Lifelong Learning project – Arts for Multicultural communities – that enables multicultural dialogue with Playback Theatre & Music. Come and be amused, moved, entertained, and surprised… No two performances alike!

QUEER PLAYBACK THEATRE UK What’s so queer about being queer? The voices of LGBT people may not always be heard, but we sure have some stories to tell. So come along and see your real-life story played back as magical theatre before your eyes! A fabulous, improvised show for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people, their families and friends. QPT was founded in 2011 by Lorna Henry, Jane Hoy and Arnet Donkin, as a creative space in which LGBT people could share their stories in a safe environment knowing the actors share similar experiences. We have run workshops in the UK and Germany and performed at Bristol Pride, LFest and GFest.
