It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I write to express my gratitude to all who made our 3rd annual Street Food Fest come together. What better way to spend the beginning of autumn than enjoying a variety of terrific foods and drinks, while listening to great music and watching our locally trained circus arts performers entertain us.

As they say, this could only occur in Vermont. The New England Street Food Festival could not have happened without the generous support of our sponsors: Whetstone Station and Brewery and Kampfires Campgound, New Chapter, Lundgren Auto Group, George Brooks Florist and Berkley & Veller Greenwood Realtors. It takes a community to pull off

these events, and the Reformer is more than pleased to have such great partners. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and I hope to see everyone there as we eat, drink and enjoy the show! Best, Fred Rutberg, President and Publisher, New England Newspapers, Inc.

Vermont Gelato

Crooked Stick Pops

Since 2010, customers have returned again and again for the scrumptious taste of Vermont Gelato’s artisan gelato. Their gelato is made with fresh, local, natural and organic ingredients and their milk is always from Vermont cows. Vermont Gelato is licensed by the Vermont Dairy Department as a “Milk Handler, which means they manufacture their gelato from scratch with a pasteurizer that meets federal standards. In their Brattleboro, Vt., production facility, each batch of gelato is made from their own recipe with Vermont milk and heavy cream, sugar and organic ingredients from local farmers with no artificial flavors or chemicals, and no GMOs. As their customer base has grown, so has Vermont Gelato’s reputation with some of the great restaurants in Brattleboro and the surrounding areas, with whom they’ve developed a winning relationship. Visit them at one of their locations or sample their wonderful gelato at a local restaurant or store. Their retail business is expanding rapidly and their pints are available at more and more stores. Buy a pint of Vermont Gelato and you’re sure to come back for more.

Julie Tuman, aka The Popmaster, founded Crooked Stick Pops in January 2016 when she realized she’d had enough of her travel-intensive job in the field of international education. After considering a number of businesses in the food and beverage industry, especially those that used her interest in craft cocktails and craft brewing, she realized that the Valley is already saturated with craft beer and that craft cocktails would also present significant challenges. Crooked Stick was born when Julie thought of bringing the creativity and healthy fun of The Hyppo — a gourmet ice pop shop in Saint Augustine, Florida — to western Massachusetts. “When we go to Florida to stay with our close family friend, we literally go to The Hyppo every single day. Sometimes twice! The Valley has plenty of bakeries, bars, restaurants, and everything else to eat and drink. But it didn’t have ice pops ... until now! Her vision for Crooked Stick is to use fresh healthy ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible, to make brilliant flavors that are fun for families but creative and surprising enough to fascinate adults. “If you think of the chemistry, innovation,

and meticulousness of preparation that goes into the best new cocktails in Chicago, New York, or San Francisco, and then translate that into ice pops, that’s what we’re going for.” Julie loves that her pops are as healthy as they are exciting. “So

many of our pops use fruit from local farms. I often pick-up peaches from Quonquont Farm (Whately) or blueberries from Bird Haven Blueberry Farm (Southampton) in the morning and make them into pops that afternoon.” Most of these pops are less

than 100 calories, and almost all are less than 200.

Amy’s Famous Macarons Dean’s Beans Over the winter of 2016-17, Amy Organic Coffee Touchette fell in love with French macarons. She dove headfirst into educating herself on these delicate treats. She read books, watched videos, searched blogs, studied the history and took classes. These little cookies were the most difficult thing she had ever baked in her life. It quickly turned into a passion. Touchette says she feels like a chemist in her kitchen, creating unique and fun flavors and colors, and decorating each cookie with love. Touchette can create a unique treat for your special occasion or event and has local pick up or delivery. Her macarons are gluten free, made with almond flour. She tries to use as many local and organic products as possible and she always has a chest freezer full of macarons ready to go.

Whetstone Station and Brewery Southern Vermont is filled with great, local food purveyors and Whetstone Station is excited to be a part of this exciting gathering. Be sure to check out the Rollin’ Stone, their custom designed mobile beer garden and kitchen featuring a full draft system and kitchen, wrap-around bar and built-in stage.

All Organic, Fair Trade and Kosher - Respect for the Quality of Life All of our fine whole bean specialty coffees are certified organic, fair trade, and kosher, and are roasted in small batches at our beanery in Orange, MA. We know that the planting, care, harvesting and processing of the beans is done in conformity with international standards for the health of the farmer and their environment, as well as the high quality of the bean. The vast use of pesticides in coffee production has serious impact on the ecology of the coffeegrowing world and the health of farm communities. Our commitment to only purchase shade grown coffees supports healthy environments for coffee growers and protects critical migratory bird habitat. It is important to us that the quality of our coffees includes respect for the quality of life of our southern partners in the coffee world. And that respect translates into superb tasting coffee for your pleasure.

Maple Mama Beverage Imagine a sweetener that's good for you! The roots of the maple tree draw natural nutrients from deep in the forest soil to give us a sweetener unlike any other, rich in antioxidants and minerals. MapleMamaTM begins with organic maple as our sweetener, but not our taste. Instead, we balance the maple with specialty flavor blends to craft a light, sparkling beverage that's a refreshing super food in every sip!

JR Smokey’s JR Smokey's is a BBQ Catering business. Our specialty is roasting whole pigs injected and rubbed with deliciousness. We also smoke up and serve prize winning pulled pork & chicken. If it’s BBQ you want, we can make it an epic event for you and your guests.

Saxtons River Distillery “My family fled czarist-controlled Lithuania in 1906… They strongly desired to assimilate into American society, but kept alive familiar Lithuanian traditions and customs, including making flavorful liqueurs. The tradition of crafting fine liqueurs has been passed from generation to generation, and we are pleased to share our unique liqueur with you. Saxtons River Distillery Vermont spirits combine old-world heritage with the flavor of Vermont. I gained appreciation for maple syrup while living in Vermont and visiting the sugar houses of friends in spring. Understanding the amount of work required to produce quality maple syrup has given me profound respect for the final product. With a nod to family tradition and the tradition of Vermont, I offer you the unique taste of Saxtons River Distillery spirits."

ENTERTAINMENT The 60’s Experience This year The New England Street Food Festival is going to have a groovy vibe. We are pleased to have the 60’s Experience playing in the pit. The 60’s experience is a local band with members from Vermont and Western Massachusetts. All band members have been performing with various local bands over the last 20 plus years and recently formed the 60’s Experience. They have quickly become a local favorite and have bookings throughout New England due to their unique play list of all 60’s music. We are sure you will enjoy the campy humor and great music as they bring their groovy vibe to our event.
