Congrats to three outstanding professionals for their well deserved induc@on into the USPTA New England Tennis Hall of Fame! Al Rogers played and coached tennis for many years in Acton, MA, at Curry College, Longwood Cricket Club and the Boston Badminton and Tennis Club. He was an English teacher at the Lincoln School in Brookline, MA for almost 30 years. Described as kind and fun, he was well-loved among USPTA New England members. Al aQended many divisional events and received numerous awards, including “Pro of the Year”, the Ed Serus President’s Award and was inducted to the USTA New England Hall of Fame (2011). Al has been inducted posthumously.
Lynn Miller coached the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Wheaton College (MA) from 1980-2015 and was head coach for the annual Tennis Camp at Wheaton. She has been inducted into the Plymouth State College (NH), Wheaton College, USTA/New England. Lynn also was the New England Collegiate Doubles Champion during her college days at Plymouth State, and s5ll competes in USTA/New England Tournaments throughout the year, mostly women’s doubles. In her “re5rement,” Lynn con5nues to coach collegiate tennis as part-5me assistant coach at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH.
Mike Quitko known to many as “Coach Q” has made a posi5ve impact on thousands of tennis players throughout New England. Coaching the Quinnipiac Bobcats to 11 NCAA appearances and earning 15 Conference “Coach of the Year” Awards he re5red in 2014 saying: “My en're career has been an unbelievable blessing and I am extremely proud of the program that we have built here”.
