AI and the Role of Humans
What a crazy space to navigate at the moment. It is both the saviour and the most dangerous thing to happen to society since society itself – depending on your search history.
But I thought it very important to share a couple of my own thoughts that seem to cut through the mist in my mind as I talk, absorb, and reflect upon this modern area of AI in our personal and professional lives. There is little doubt that the debate will continue to rage.
In reality, much of what we believe is subjective, and that is what makes us human – the ability to question and debate. Of course, this has its pros and cons, but is fundamental to our evolution in much the same way, that trial and error promotes understanding.
This is where our caretaking role in AI is essential. Call it quality assurance, call it whatever you like, but there is caution that should be made when allowing AI and the associated responses in whatever form they are, to be the gold standard in answers. For those that are a bit savvier and more experienced in this space, this may seem obvious, but for others, like our learners, AI can
be so convincing that you believe it without question.
Sure, basic undisputable facts and the like may be less contentious, but the narratives and perspective on our history, particularly local and/or indigenous, may be subject to discrepancies and weighting that twist the reality. Empowering ourselves, our educators, and leaders to take AI generated responses and pass them through sanity checks is essential.
Take the role of AI in Te Ao Māori as an example. From the imagery it creates to the pūrākau that it (re)interprets, AI has the potential to be devoid of the fundamental mauri inherent in the korero of an oral (and aural) based language. Without curation, generations of subtlety and nuance, giving richness and depth, could easily be lost. Not to mention the questions around the authenticity of using of a textbased tool, on a language that has effectively only been written down for a little over 200 years in the first place.
I can generate a picture of myself at the Eiffel Tower, but the reality of my human experience in that moment is so much deeper. The sites, smells, and company give a texture that cannot be replaced by anything but experience. The best parts of my own life are what I gain through experience and cannot be substituted by AI alone.
Like any powerful tool, AI takes understanding and training to know its capability and the best use in the right environment. I have been fortunate enough to run some workshops lately based around administration and workflows, and working with some educational leaders on how we can leverage the power of AI in personalised learning – a very, very exciting space.
Given the right checks and balances, AI has the potential to help support the understanding and longevity of our human experience. But caution needs to remain to ensure that it does not define and shape what we believe in a way that supersedes our perspective.
Caretaking

Empowering Education: New Era’s Event Highlights of the Year
As the school year draws to a close, we reflect on the many wonderful educational events we’ve had the privilege of participating in. At New Era, our passion for technology drives our commitment to guiding future generations by providing them with the tools they need to succeed. These events allow us to connect with educational leaders across Aotearoa, helping to empower both students and teachers through innovative technology and solutions. Here are some of our favourite highlights from the year.
FEBRUARY
Thrive 24
New Era had the privilege of presenting at Thrive 24, an event that brings together employers of engineers from across Aotearoa to connect, share insights, learn, and inspire one another, all with the goal of helping organisations improve their operations.
A key takeaway from Chaz Nielsen’s two-day presentation was the critical importance of involving AV integrators early in a project’s development. This ensures smoother execution and more effective results.
MARCH
TTPA Conference
New Era attended one of our annual North Island events at the TTPA Conference in the beautiful Bay of Islands. This event offers a unique opportunity for networking, learning, and collaboration within our industry. For our team, the highlight was meeting educators from all corners of the country! We loved swapping stories and creating connections that can make a real difference in our schools.
MAY
SPANZ
One of the key events we proudly support as a gold sponsor each year is SPANZ, held in the stunning Queenstown.
This year, we organised an unforgettable evening at Jervois Steak House, hosted an exciting wine tour, and one of the major highlights was undoubtedly our AI competition.
During the competition, principals were invited to give prompts to showcase the role of principals at the SPANZ conference using AI. Congratulations to the crowd favourite and winner, Christine Williams from Hillcrest! Her entry truly was a standout.
Te Akatea Hui Taumata
JULY
SBM Conference
New Era had the inspiring opportunity to be apart of the Schools Business Managers Conference (SBM), hosted in Christchurch. SBM provided amazing networking and development opportunities as we connected with many school business professionals from across New Zealand. We enjoyed gaining new insights and engaging in meaningful conversations with familiar and new faces.
New Era had the inspiring opportunity to be a part of the Te Akatea Hui Conference, hosted in Tauranga. Our Account Executive, Tim Foley, was fortunate to be able to attend this celebration of Māori education and leadership. New Era is thrilled to sponsor and advocate for this roopu, encouraging diversity and success for Māori educators.
New Era was also proud to attend the ABSNZ Event in Christchurch. The Association of Boys’ Schools in New Zealand (ABSNZ) brings together educators who are passionate about advancing the education and development of boys. At this event, New Era had the opportunity to showcase how our innovative technology solutions can serve as a powerful tool, enabling the young men of New Zealand to excel through the use of cutting-edge technology. Tim Foley
One thing that always strikes me about the way that Te Ao Māori operates, is the willingness of people to share what they have learned for the betterment of others. This year’s Hui Taumata at Tauranga Moana was no different. It was humbling to a part of the hui, and to be able to tautoko your mahi in even the smallest of ways.
Thus Te Akatea – a metaphor for contemporary Māori leadership in kura battling to keep alive te reo Māori with brave, stoic, and relentless determination!
Lynfield College SponsorshipVEX Robotics World Championship
New Era had the pleasure of helping sponsor eight students from Lynfield College to embark on an unforgettable journey to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas! This annual event brings together the brightest robotics minds from around the globe. Check out what a student had to say about their experience!
Dear Sponsors,
Thank you for the opportunity you have provided for me and eight other students. The opportunity to compete for New Zealand on the world stage was something I never imagined I would do, but you made that possible.
The robotics competition itself was impressive and certainly worth going to. The venue was massive, it accommodated all 820 teams that were there from all around the world. It was incredible to see a huge range of countries at the opening ceremony and we got the chance to work with and compete with many of them during our qualification matches. Simply walking around and meeting people from all around the world
was something I’ve never done before. The robotics community is very friendly, but competitive. When it came to the actual competition, I personally got to see how my program stacked up against others all around the world and was pleased to find out it held its own. We may not have won, but we learnt a lot from our experience there, it was definitely inspiring and something I want to do again. I gained a lot from the trip, I learnt a lot from the preparations to worlds and learnt how to program a competitive auton. After the qualifications we were lucky enough to get seats to watch the finals take place, the arena was phenomenal. The finals were remarkable, the sheer quality was beyond belief. We saw the best of the best compete against each other and that’s another experience I can’t ever forget.
Whilst we were there, we spent some time doing some sightseeing. We went to a range of different museums which was not only fun but highly educational too. It was spectacular to see museums of such size and variety, it was something we simply don’t get in New Zealand. The Perot Museum was a personal favourite of mine, it was the largest and had incredible museum pieces. The main exhibition and my favourite were definitely the dinosaur fossils. We also did other activities, like going to a baseball match and Six Flags. The baseball match was something I never expected to be going to, but something I really loved. I’ve never watched baseball before and I barely understand the rules, and although the Texas Rangers didn’t do so well in the match we attended, I will still hold that memory for a lifetime.
Not only were the activities great, but the people I went with too. I was alongside some of the most talented people I know and got to call these people my teammates. I loved
interacting with them, our little card game group being my favourite. Staying at an Airbnb meant that it was easy to interact with the teachers and the other team. This meant we could set up card games such as 500 or watch robotics videos together on the TV, and even challenging each other in video games was great fun. We certainly grew a lot as a team and this trip allowed that to happen.
This trip meant a lot to me and all the other students. We greatly appreciate every dollar you have put towards this trip which made it all happen. We hope that with your continued support, we can do it all again next year. With the things we learnt and the experience we gained this year, we hope we can build and program a robot that can qualify and compete at worlds next year.
Thank you for your support.
Achieving Success Together:
Avonside Girls’ and Shirley Boys’ Schools’ IT Partnership
A Unique Educational Landscape
Avonside Girls’ High School and Shirley Boys’ High School in Christchurch, New Zealand, present a unique case study in shared-campus education. Following the devastating 2011 earthquake, these two single-sex schools became the first of their kind in NZ. Finding themselves rebuilding on the same site, maintaining their individual identities, while forging a collaborative environment. However, this presented a significant IT challenge: how to create a secure and functional network that catered to both schools’ distinct needs on a shared infrastructure.
Overcoming Challenges: Shared Success
Avonside Girls’ and Shirley Boys’ Schools faced significant challenges before establishing their co-located campus. Both schools required updated devices and new IT setups to support their educational activities. Transitioning to a shared system was complex, particularly in coordinating shared staff, classes, and facilities such as the library, gymnasium, and theatre. Implementing a reliable IT system was essential to protect each school’s data while enabling seamless movement across shared spaces.
Implementing Effective IT Solutions
Through collaboration, the schools developed a customised network infrastructure that effectively supports both institutions. The co-location project, part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) campus, involved various stakeholders and required a robust network design. The current system allows students and staff to easily access shared resources while keeping each school’s data secure and separate.
Integrating two schools with distinct IT backgrounds into one campus presented unique challenges. Leveraging New Era’s experience in the education sector, a flexible technology system was created to support both schools’ operations. While cloud technologies were adopted, on-site equipment remains essential for certain functions, ensuring a smooth transition. This balanced managed network environment has minimised disruptions and maintained high levels of staff satisfaction.
Celebrating Technological Enhancements in Learning
The new IT infrastructure has enabled both schools to adopt a hybrid approach, utilising on-site and cloud storage solutions while maintaining security standards. This has led to increased operational efficiency, streamlined network management, and optimal resource utilisation, resulting in significant cost savings without compromising service quality.
Enhanced communication and collaboration among staff and students from both schools have fostered a vibrant learning environment. Access to advanced technology and shared resources has empowered both schools to excel, even in challenging situations. These improvements have been instrumental in supporting academic achievements and enriching the overall educational experience.
Collaborating for Long-Term Success
The strong partnership between the schools and New Era has been crucial to the school success and evolution. On-site technicians have become integral members of the school communities, building trust and providing personalised support that both schools greatly value.
The Platinum Plus Ultra Agreement, shared by Avonside Girls’ and Shirley Boys’ Schools, reinforces this collaboration. The support model ensures continuous IT assistance with dedicated technicians, while a five-year strategic planning initiative guarantees predictable ICT spending and long-term stability.
This collaboration has not only addressed the initial challenges faced through co-location, but also set both schools on a path to sustainable success. By fostering a robust IT infrastructure and a strong partnership, Avonside Girls’ and Shirley Boys’ Schools are well-equipped to support their students and staff, ensuring continued excellence in education now and in the future.
If you are facing complex IT challenges in your schools environment, Contact New Era today to learn how we can design a custom solution that empowers your institution to thrive.
7 Must Haves for Your Business
Cybersecurity threats like ransomware, cyber attacks, and zeroday exploits get a lot of attention, but physical security shouldn’t be neglected. Traditional risk assessments think a deadbolt, a lone security guard, and a CCTV system are good enough. This is no longer the case. To keep your employees and valuables safe, you need a robust physical security strategy with the right tools.
This checklist outlines essential physical security features every building should possess:
While most main entrances likely have alarms, emergency exits are often overlooked. All entry and exit points, including windows, should have functioning locks and motion detection or sensors connected to monitored and inspected alarm systems. Critical internal areas like server rooms and document storage require similar protection. Ensure all alarms have backup power for outages and undergo regular testing.
Use access controls that use tools like keys, key cards, badges, fingerprint scanners, or similar to verify a person’s identity before entering the building. These systems should also maintain an audit trail that tracks who enters the building and when to prevent any security incidents.
Today’s video surveillance systems offer high-quality footage, often in colour, with remote monitoring capabilities. Cameras can record nonstop or activate recording and data storage upon detecting motion or an alarm trigger. Leaving security cameras visible acts as a deterrent to both internal and external threats.
1. Comprehensive Door & Alarm Systems
2. Access Control Systems
3. Modern Video Surveillance
Poor lighting creates an advantage for criminals and hinders security personnel and law enforcement. Ensure lighting systems have overlapping coverage in case of bulb failure. Protect the power supply for these systems to prevent tampering, and regularly test both standby and emergency lighting.
Your security plan should address communication protocols:
• Is someone notified when the alarm triggers? Who?
• What notification methods will you use?
• Are your communication systems reliable and secure?
• Do you have backup communication methods in place?
• Are computer systems and equipment only accessible to authorised personnel?
Many organisations hold onto physical files and devices long after their usefulness. Leaving these old assets creates a main target for criminals, even if hard drives and devices are supposedly empty. Outdated documents require shredding, and old technology needs removal from the premises by a reputable e-waste disposal company.
New Era can help you design and implement a secure, and well-managed physical security strategy for your building.
For organisations open to the public, receptionists and sales staff often serve as the first line of defence. Employee training should equip them to handle situations involving threatening individuals or suspicious activity.
Just like a good IT security strategy protects your digital assets, a great physical security approach is essential to prevent unofficial access to your facility, specific areas, and critical resources within.

5. Communication & IT Infrastructure
6. Secure Document & Technology Disposal

Leveraging Technology in Education to Create an Inclusive Learning Experience
Technology has rapidly transformed our world, and education is no exception. Digital transformation in education and its integration into classrooms is reshaping how students learn, and teachers teach. Technology empowers educators and students alike, from automating tasks to creating interactive learning environments. This case study explores how Central Auckland Specialist School (CASS) has embraced technology to build an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs.
What is CASS?
CASS is a dedicated school providing specialised education for students aged 5 to 21 with intellectual, physical, sensory, or behavioural disabilities. With 32 satellite classrooms across Central Auckland, CASS offers tailored and bespoke learning programs to meet the unique needs of each student.
They are funded by the Ministry of Education’s Ongoing Resourcing Scheme (ORS) for Special Education. CASS incorporates teachers, learning assistants, therapists, and specialists in art, music, dance, and Te Reo. CASS also runs a Specialist Teacher Outreach Service, which helps support ORSfunded students in being fully included within their mainstream schools.
The Technology Challenges Faced by The School
With its diverse student population, CASS faces unique challenges in delivering effective education. Each student brings specific learning needs, requiring a tailored approach with personalised learning. To address this, the school has strategically integrated technology into its curriculum.
A variety of technological tools, from portable screens to specialised communication devices, have been implemented to support students’ learning journeys. This diverse technology landscape ensures students can access the resources they need to reach their full potential.
Transforming Learning Through Technology
CASS has embraced technology in the classroom as a catalyst for innovation in education. As a primarily Office 365 school, CASS leverages SharePoint and Teams for efficient data management and collaboration. The deployment of devices like Windows desktops and Apple iPads across school sites ensures students and staff have access to technology and essential tools. The introduction of this technology for students with disabilities has given a new dimension to student learning and engagement.
CASS prioritises access to the latest technology, refreshing desktops and iPads every three years. This commitment, managed in partnership with New Era, ensures staff can focus on teaching rather than IT troubleshooting. Recent upgrades to network infrastructure at Smallfield Avenue and St Andrews Road locations have created a robust learning environment, supporting the delivery of tailored education.
CommBox: A Catalyst for Engagement
CommBox interactive screens have become a cornerstone of many CASS classrooms. These robust devices, equipped with various educational apps and platforms like Google Education and Microsoft Education, offer teachers versatile tools to create dynamic learning experiences.
Students are particularly drawn to the CommBox’s built-in whiteboard feature. The ability to draw and write directly on the screen has transformed how students interact with learning materials, fostering creativity and confidence. This intuitive
technology has made learning more engaging and enjoyable for CASS students. You can schedule a consultation with one of our team to help integrate a CommBox into your classroom.
A Network of Support
With 32 satellite classes spread across 13 schools in Central Auckland, students can access online learning, through specialised CASS programs while attending their mainstream classes. This blended learning model creates a sense of belonging to the wider school community. New Era has been a vital partner in this journey, supporting CASS since the merger of Carlson School for Cerebral Palsy and Sunnydene Special Schools in 2018. As a pioneer in cloud-based solutions, CASS has embraced the Ministry of Education’s vision for reduced reliance on on-site hardware.
With staff moving between multiple locations daily, seamless access to data and systems is crucial. New Era’s expertise in ensuring efficient and reliable technology infrastructure has been essential in overcoming this challenge and minimising disruptions to student learning.
A Strong Partnership For Success
Since the beginning, New Era has been an integral partner to CASS, providing comprehensive IT support and guidance. Our expertise includes a variety of tech solutions for education including networking, management, software solutions, technology procurement, and cybersecurity, ensuring a secure and efficient digital environment.
CASS staff can submit support requests through a dedicated helpdesk to ensure prompt IT assistance. New Era offers on-site and remote support, ensuring timely resolutions to technical issues. Regular on-site visits to the main CASS office help strengthen this support network.
Proactive planning is essential for a successful school year.
CASS and New Era collaborate closely to develop annual plans, aligning technology investments with the school’s IT goals. This helps us use resources wisely and minimises disruptions to the learning environment.
What’s Next?
As CASS expands its reach to more students across Central Auckland, New Era will continue to provide the necessary technological infrastructure and support. The upcoming rollout of Windows 11 devices, coupled with exploring new technologies, will ensure CASS remains at the forefront of educational innovation. This approach will empower students to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
A Sneak Peek Into the Future:
CASS is currently constructing a state-of-the-art base school, scheduled for completion in late 2025. This new facility is a direct result of the merger of two schools and will be tailored to the specific needs of CASS students with New Era’s support.
The base school will feature a centralised administrative hub, dedicated therapy spaces, and versatile training and meeting areas. There are five learning hubs, each housing classrooms, therapy spaces, a fitness centre, a teaching kitchen, and a hydrotherapy pool. Each will provide students with a comprehensive learning style and stimulate learning experiences. The new building will replace outdated facilities that have hindered the school’s ability to deliver optimal education and will serve as a central hub for satellite classes and outreach services.
A New Era of Education:
The partnership between CASS and New Era showcases the transformative power of technology in education. By embracing innovation and collaboration, CASS has created a supportive learning environment where students with diverse needs can thrive. This case study demonstrates how technology can be leveraged to overcome challenges, enhance teaching and learning, and ultimately improve student outcomes. As technology continues to evolve, CASS and New Era are eager to shape the future of education for generations to come.
If you want to discover how we can support your school or business, schedule a consultation and let New Era help achieve your ICT goals.

Equipment Leasing: A Flexible Funding Option for Schools
How leasing can help schools get the tools they need today – and in the future
Schools must keep up with the pace of technology to stay competitive in an ever-changing world. In our digitally-driven landscape, access to technology is a necessity for educational equity.
But schools face unique challenges when it comes to balancing budgetary constraints with the need for updated equipment and technology resources. Purchasing brand-new equipment outright is not always the most sustainable solution, as high upfront costs and ongoing maintenance simply may not be feasible for most schools.
Leasing is a well-tested and practical funding option that gives schools more flexibility and enables them to align their educational goals with their financial realities.
Schools can lease a wide range of equipment that enhances both the teaching and learning experience. New Era Technology offers a variety of equipment and services to schools, including:
• Laptops and Tablets: We provide a full suite of Apple Solutions for schools, including iPads and MacBooks, empowering students with the educational tools they need to prepare for a lifetime of learning. Additionally, New Era’s Bring Your Own Device programme assists parents and students with their purchase to make choosing a device easier than ever.
• Interactive Whiteboards: EduCast helps schools save time, money, and paper with digital signage and collaboration tools for the modern classroom.
• Smart Projectors: Our cloud-based solutions can be used for multimedia lessons, presentations, and interactive learning, and can be integrated with a school’s student management system to ensure key messages are always being displayed.
With deep experience in the education space, our partners at Quadrent help schools maximise the power of technology with tailored leasing solutions that reduce costs, support ongoing innovation, and boost digital equity and inclusion in schools.
We spoke with Jan Paterson, Head of Education at Quadrent, to dive a little deeper into the benefits of leasing for schools.
Leasing vs. Buying: Key Considerations
When assessing the need for new equipment, Paterson says that schools should begin by identifying their technology needs, such as the number of devices, type of equipment, and specific classroom requirements.
“The decision to lease or buy technology depends on several factors,” Paterson says, “Including budget forecast, the current age and state of existing equipment, and the overall value that updated equipment brings to the school.”
Let’s take a closer look at each factor to understand the practical implications for schools.
All-in Costs
When comparing leasing versus buying, it’s important to look at the total cost of ownership (TCO), which includes not just the price of acquiring the equipment but also the costs of maintaining it – especially as the equipment gets older and becomes more expensive and time consuming to repair – upgrading it, and disposing of it at the end of its life.
With leasing, these risks are transferred to lessor, ensuring that schools only pay for the use of the technology, whilst the leasing company manages the lifecycle of the devices.
Access to Current Technology
Leasing also allows schools to spread the cost of technology over time, with regular payments that fit within their budgets. This means schools can access better technology sooner without having to wait until they can afford to buy it outright.
Environmental Sustainability
An important aspect of leasing is that it helps schools manage the environmental impact of their technology use. When a school buys technology, it must handle the disposal of old equipment, which can be time consuming, take up storage space and have negative environmental effects if not handled appropriately. Leasing can mitigate these concerns.
3 Benefits of Leasing vs. Buying
1 Cost Savings: Leasing reduces the need for large upfront capital expenditures (CAPEX), allowing schools to better allocate their financial resources towards longer life assets. It also simplifies budgeting by spreading costs over time, which is particularly helpful for schools that rely on term-based funding.
2. No Ownership Burden: Leasing helps schools mitigate certain costs associated with ownership, such as maintenance, repairs and eventual disposal.
“Quadrent incorporates sustainable, secure disposal and recycling practices into leasing agreements to make certain that e-waste is minimised and sustainability goals are met,” Paterson says. “For example, when a school leases laptops, iPads or Chromebooks, Quadrent manages the disposal process at the end of the lease term (including arranging the pick-up from the school). The equipment is then either responsibly recycled or refurbished, which reduces the environmental footprint.”
3. Technology Refresh: Leasing allows schools to refresh their technology every few years, keeping pace with advancements in educational technology without the need to purchase new equipment outright. This ensures that students and teachers are always equipped with modern tools for learning.
What to Look for in a Leasing Service Provider
1. Flexible Terms: When looking for a leasing services provider, it’s important to consider factors like the lease term, payment structure, and end-of-term preferences. Look for a service provider that has proven experience with schools to ensure the terms are flexible and cater to their specific needs.
2. Smooth Deployment: A locally based leasing partner will work with preferred ICT providers to help ensure that your school has the right IT infrastructure to support ongoing innovation.
Real-Time Solutions for Schools
Leasing is an excellent way for schools to access the technology they need without a heavy financial burden; it gives schools more financial flexibility to optimise their budgets, enhance learning environments, and contribute to sustainability efforts – all without the complications of owning technology assets themselves. Leasing can help schools stay current with the latest educational tools whilst providing financial predictability and reducing the risks associated with technology ownership, empowering educators
3. Payment Structure: Most leasing payments are made quarterly, allowing schools to predictably manage their budgets. This type of fixed payment model ensures there are no surprises or large, unexpected costs during the lease term.
4. End of Term Options: When the lease ends, look for providers that offer flexibility around returning the technology, upgrading to newer models, or extending the lease – with no hidden costs. This simplicity makes it easier for schools to plan for future technology needs.
and their students with the tools they need today – and in the future. “By ensuring access to technology and promoting digital equity, we can help build a foundation for lifelong learning and success,” Paterson says.

Why Future-Proofing Your School’s IT Infrastructure is a Pathway to Success.
Planning for the future doesn’t have to be overwhelming or chaotic. Creating a strategic technology plan allows for a smooth transition into the school year, with minimised data threats, enhanced learning experiences, and greater success for your school.
To ensure your school’s IT infrastructure is prepared for the future, it’s essential to develop a comprehensive technology plan. With the rapid advancements in digital learning, cloud-based education platforms, and virtual classrooms, schools must invest in the right hardware, software, and network services to support their evolving needs. Being proactive in planning allows schools to create a reliable and secure digital environment, promoting improved learning experiences for students and teachers alike.
In today’s educational landscape, technology serves as a critical tool. A robust IT infrastructure helps manage everything from online assessments to securing student data. With the increasing use of digital devices and interactive learning platforms, schools need to be proactive in addressing cybersecurity risks and ensure smooth integration of new technologies.
Future proofing your technology plans is essential to safeguarding your school’s IT infrastructure from cyber threats and disruptions. By planning ahead and allocating funds for necessary upgrades, you can protect your schools’ assets. New Era can help your school plan for the future to prevent surprise costs and make smarter financial decisions.
Collaborating with your Managed IT provider is crucial for crafting a well-planned tech budget. New Era’s expertise helps you identify upcoming technology needs and address gaps within your systems. This partnership allows you to create a roadmap that aligns with your schools’ goals while streamlining the process. By letting New Era handle the heavy lifting, you can focus on growth without all of the admin.
A personalised, strategic plan not only protects your school’s digital assets and teaching methods, but also ensures the best financial decisions around technology investments. To maximise the value of partnering with New Era, we offer three Platinum Partnership tiers, delivering benefits from remote monitoring to providing two on-site technicians, all tailored to meet your school’s specific IT requirements.
Platinum
Platinum Ultra
Platinum Plus Ultra
This partnership provides a full-time, onsite desktop support technician dedicated to your school. It also grants access to New Era’s service desk for remote support, with seamless escalation to a technical team leader or engineer as needed. An assigned Account Executive will assist with quoting, procurement, and strategic ICT advice, including initiatives such as cloud transformation.
This option includes all the benefits of the Platinum tier but allows the school to retain employment of their existing onsite ICT technician. Schools will adopt New Era’s systems for ticketing and processes, streamlining reporting and planning. Additionally, this tier covers all technical engineering support for project work as needed.
Designed for schools seeking maximum support, this option provides two onsite technicians for comprehensive day-today support for both staff and students. It includes all project services, ensuring smooth technology integration into administration, teaching, and learning programs. This model offers consistent coverage and redundancy, helping schools manage seasonal costs by spreading out project expenses and providing stability for school leadership. x
