Eyes in the Sky—Real Estate Professionals Soar to New Heights While some real estate agents are adapting to new technologies, such as utilizing unmanned drones to showcase a property, others continue to take a more traditional, “hands-on” approach.
Such was the case when Joan Jacquin, real estate professional for Rodrock & Associates Realtors, and builder/agent Chris George “Bubba” of Chris George Homes and Better Homes and Gardens Kansas City Homes, took to the sky recently. Always in search of real estate opportunities, the pair couldn’t pass up the opportunity to examine... ...Okay. So the team of Jacquin and George didn’t really jump out of a plane in order to get a bird’s eye view of some real estate opportunity. That would be insane. Almost as crazy as jumping because sky diving was an item to be checked off a theoretical “bucket list”. Of course you know where this is headed—sky diving was indeed an item on each of their “bucket lists”. “One day in passing, I mentioned to Chris that sky diving was on my ‘bucket list’. It was something I really wanted to do,” Jacquin said. “I couldn’t believe it when he said it was on his list too. Half joking, I told him if he set it up I would jump with him. He did, and so I did.” The friendship and working relationship between Jacquin and “Bubba” (Chris George III) dates back to his toddler years when Joan worked with his grandfather, Chris George Sr. in the 1980’s. Her relationship with the George family has extended through “Bubba”‘s father, Chris Jr. and continues to this day. So even though there are a number of years between them, Joan is in her LXX’s and “Bubba” is just XXX, they jumped at the chance to share the experience. (It’s improper to mention a lady’s age, but Joan is proud of her 73 years...ooops!) Jacquin said she felt no trepidation as she prepared to go up for her sky dive. “I admit I was a little nervous,” she said prior to the jump. “Of course, there’s going to be somebody hooked on to me, but…” She wasn’t disappointed. After her jump, an ecstatic Jacquin told everyone that it was wonderful. George shared her nervousness ahead of time, but thoroughly enjoyed his jump as well. “I loved it! I asked my instructor to do a couple of spins on the way down and it was a fantastic experience.” Chris is also busy planning his September wedding, so although the nervousness of the jump is behind him, surely more anxious times await.

Inspired Homes, a new Kansas City-based builder, is changing the way new homes are built.
