iscover a land like no others, as in the company of your guide and like-minded travellers, you take a journey through the cities and culture, extraordinary sights and natural wonders of Japan, where the startlingly modern never quite subsumes the majesty of a deeply rooted, ancient past. Beginning in ancient Kyoto, where kimono-wearing geishas still shuffle their way along ancient streets, this very special tour takes in 6th century capital Nara, then sombre Hiroshima, Miyajima’s famous Torrii gate and Himeji’s awe-inspiring castle. Kanzawa’s breathtaking gardens and Shirakawa-Go’s traditional thatched gassōzukuri houses lead on to picture-book Takayama and Hakone National Park and hoped-for views of majestic Mount Fuji. Pulsating, cacophonous Tokyo, complete a fascinating journey.
