Ludlow Castle

Ludlow, Shrewsbury & Secrets of Shropshire Explore three wonderful and varied towns and discover the unspoilt, breathtaking beauty of Shropshire on this fabulous break. With its lovely landscape of hills, rolling farmland and river valleys, you’ll discover a delightful corner of Great Britain dotted with sleepy black-and-white timbered towns and villages, historic castles and fine medieval churches. Bridgnorth, home to Britain’s steepest funicular, is the first stop of this tour before we reach our hotel for the first night. The following day starts with a visit to the world-famous market town of Ironbridge, with its eponymous arches spanning the River Severn. From here we continue to the historic market town of Ludlow, one of the most attractive towns in England. You may like to visit St Laurence’s Church, or perhaps explore the castle, which rises high above the river.

Ironbridge Gorge

Our final day takes in historic Shrewsbury, with its timber-framed buildings and steep, narrow streets. Perhaps explore the Regimental Museum, housed in the castle, and famous Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional detective Brother Cadfael. We head home in the afternoon, arriving back in your local area by early to mid evening.

You will be staying in a good, threestar standard hotel in the Shropshire/ West Midlands area such as the Telford White Horse or Holiday Inn, Great Barr. Your room will have private facilities, TV and tea/coffee-making facilities and all hotels have good restaurant and bar facilities. 2017 Departures
