Environ named 2019 New Product Competition winner
The awards ceremony took place at The Venue Green Park, in Morningside, Johannesburg. The upscale conference and events establishment is perched on top of Joburg’s exclusive World Trade Centre, offering breath-taking views of the city and a magical sunset experience. Thanks to the P C Review and Symrise teams, which pulled out all the stops with the planning, the event lived up to guests’ expectations and maintained its status as the ‘Oscars of the cosmetics industry’.
The New Product Competition judges said Environ’s Focus Care Radiance+ range addresses the hot topic of blemished skin, with its promise of even tone benefits. The premium look of the products and clever use of packaging elements show absolute attention to detail while the formulations have been beautifully designed. Judges called the combination of actives and layering ‘very clever’ to obtain maximum efficiency without compromising on the formulations or having the ingredients clash.
Introducing de Laire beauty care
Symrise perfumer, Laurent Le Lorec shared an inviting presentation on fragrance creation and innovation. He discussed Symrise’s de Laire bases – the historic constant that strengthens the company’s expertise in innovation – and revealed a new development, named de Laire beauty care.
‘We are very glad to announce that de Laire, born in 1876 and a key pillar of Symrise’s DNA, is now available for beauty care in an avant-garde version,’ Le Lorec explained.
Fragrances in beauty care are becoming more and more sophisticated. Addictive, memorable, exclusive, with an intense trail and made from natural extracts – these are some of the criteria consumers want from fragrances used in their premium beauty care products.
‘With de Laire beauty care, revived thanks to the initial work of Pascal Sillon, our senior beauty care perfumer, we can now offer a unique olfactory proposition to clients, which no other fragrance house has,’ Le Lorec added.
Thank you to the sponsor
Now in its 12th year, the PC Review/Symrise New Product Competition aims to give local and international brands supplied on the South African market the opportunity to showcase their innovative new products. At the intersection of science and art, there is understanding and true innovation. Trend-spotting and consumer insights coupled with its unparalleled innovation capabilities through its Beauty+ programme, allows Symrise to create highly innovative solutions through a meaningful combination of fragrance and cosmetic ingredients. In doing so, the company addresses unmet consumer needs, sometimes even before those needs have been clearly articulated.
Thank you to the sponsor Symrise for continuing to support the New Product Competition and for the company’s involvement in the event.
