Everything You Need To Fit Out Public Bathrooms

Franke offers an extensive range of sanitaryware and bathroom accessories to suit public ablutions of various applications. Sanitaryware products include WC pans, urinals and wash basins. Franke commercial washroom accessories include both manual and automatic soap dispensers, foam dispensers, paper towel & toilet paper dispensers, waste and sanitary bins, hand dryers, grab rails, soap racks, towel rails, mirrors and taps in various styles.

When working with the architect, Renatta Govender, Business Development Manager for KZN, most commonly recommends the Franke Stratos Designer Range of accessories for high end shopping centre ablutions. This range is a popular choice with its unique arched design and sophisticated look. As important, the Stratos range has InoxPlus Technology - a nanotechnology process surface treatment which visibly reduces fingerprints and makes these accessories exceptionally maintenance friendly - something very important to the developer of a mall.

Vandalism and theft are often big factors to consider in public ablutions and so architects may choose stainless steel products which are very robust and therefore vandal resistant. The Stratos range of accessories is manufactured from high grade 1.5mm gauge stainless steel making them particularly resistant to damage or denting. For security reasons, Franke stainless steel mirrors are also a good choice versus typical glass mirrors which are easy to break.

Complementing Franke’s accessories, are its selfclosing pillar taps which are designed to improve hygiene and decrease water consumption. In a choice of styles, these taps offer a much more modern design than similar taps in their price range, and have a reputation for the highest of quality in the inner working mechanisms.

There was not a negative word spoken about the architecture and design of the mall and many regarded it as high end.

Another important range of products to include is grab rails for the disabled.

With Franke South Africa introducing worktops to their product offering in 2017, they are now able to offer a turnkey solution for a public washroom. The first shopping centre ablutions fitted with Franke Quartz worktops were completed on the 28th September 2018. The 29 000m² KwaDukuza Mall on KZN’s North Coast is a R220 million development with 80 shops and 900 parking bays. The mall’s ablutions are fitted with Franke’s Italian Quartz worktops. The ablutions are also fitted with Franke soap dispensers, hand dryers and grab rails.

At the mall opening, project developer Vivian Reddy commented: “There was not a negative word spoken about the architecture and design of the mall and many regarded it as high end. Another positive was how well our toilets were received. We spent much on quality finishes. Often developers short-change communities on projects in smaller towns.”
