Join Valerie Corradetti in this six-week class geared toward students looking to develop and expand their own artistic perspective. Creative Painting is an independent class that will incorporate project-driven work, individual critiques, and artistic discussion. MORRIS BART SR., LECTURE SERIES AT THE J BEHAVIORAL RISK FACTORS, HIV, AND INJECTION DRUG USE IN NEW ORLEANS
Narquis Barak, a Harvard trained anthropologist, has coordinated the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance Project in New Orleans since 2008. New Orleans is one of twenty metropolitan areas funded by the CDC to study the ongoing HIV epidemic. In this talk, Ms. Barak will discuss populations at high risk for HIV in New Orleans and the social, economic, and political factors that affect behavioral risk. She will also present findings from research conducted 2009 - 2015 on injection drug use and opiate overdoses in the city. Lunch will be served.
