TULANE MAYA SYMPOSIUM KEYNOTE ADDRESS On Friday, February 24, 2012 at 7 p.m., the ninth annual Tulane Maya Symposium and Workshop will kick off at NOMA with a lecture in the Stern Auditorium. Dr. Anthony F. Aveni’s lecture “Maya Apocalypse Soon?” will explore theories about the coming end of the ancient
Maya calendar and the subsequent worldwide Armageddon. Aveni is the Russel Colgate Distinguished University Professor of Astronomy, Anthropology, and Native American Studies at Colgate University. For more information about the Maya Symposium, email tms@tulane.edu.
