GRAHAM COUGHLAN I would like to begin by offering you all a warm welcome back to Rodney Parade for today’s fixture against Colchester United in the FA Cup.

I

t feels like quite a while since my first game in charge back on the 22nd October here at Rodney Parade but it’s great to be back in front of our home fans again today, coincidentally against the same opposition as that day! Since that day we’ve had two really tough away trips, with both of them coming at teams who are up competing at the top end of the table. It was really pleasing to come away from trips to Mansfield and Northampton unbeaten and it was brilliant that so many Exiles followed us up to Nottingham on a Tuesday evening and then Northampton on Saturday. I said that I’ve inherited a good squad here and I feel as though the boys have shown that over the past week or so. However, I think it’s fair to say we can come away from the past week, somewhat disappointed to only have come away with two points. Firstly, our trip to Mansfield last Tuesday was a really difficult one and I felt as though the boys worked really hard and on the balance of chances, I think it would have been difficult to argue if we’d come away with the three points. We did really well to nullify their threats and cause them problems of our own but in the end, it was a solid away performance. It was much the same with our trip on Saturday to Northampton. That’s another tough place to go and to take an early lead and hold out for as long as we did was really pleasing, although of course, it was bitterly disappointing to concede in stoppage time. No matter what our disappointment in the final result after the way the game went, there were definitely positives to take from it and one that keeps our unbeaten run going. Leading onto today, it will prove to be another competitive game against a team who will be looking to avenge the result here back on the 22nd October. As with any team from our league, Colchester have some good players and we will need to be focused on putting in a strong performance in order to come away with the result we want. On that note, I want to welcome Matt Bloomfield, the technical staff, directors, players and supporters from Colchester United and hope they have a safe journey to and from Rodney Parade. Regardless of the fact that this a break from the league, this is a game we want to win and the club’s relationship with cup competitions over the last few years means that everyone around the club knows how important a good a cup run can be. Hopefully we can get a good atmosphere at Rodney Parade today and deliver a performance that gives you more to feed off. The support over the past week has been fantastic and I am hoping you can create a real cup atmosphere and help drive the boys on. Enjoy the game and get behind the lads. CHRIS SHINGLER

AMBER FROM THE ATTIC When the draw was made for today’s FA Cup tie with Colchester United, memories came flooding back to older supporters of another cup tie with The U’s, way back in January 1979 where a home tie with Manchester United awaited the victors...

T

he original date was Saturday the 30thof January, but due to a very cold snap in the weather that brought icy conditions the match was put back until the following Tuesday, so, by the time the game was played, the Fifth Round draw had already been made and excitement levels rose to meteoric levels when County or Colchester were paired against Dave Sexton’s Red Devil’s from Old Trafford. The programme printed for the Saturday date was duly used and that brisk evening’s ‘Amber Note’ would have cost the overexcited fan high with cup fever fifteen pence and gave you an excellent twenty pages for your money. Heck, it even featured a small image of the cup itself to add a touch more drama to proceedings! A rather young looking Len Ashurst opened proceedings with his’Amber Talk’and noted that due to recent postponements this match was the start of regular twomatches-a-week until late in the season. Due to some away matches similarly falling victim to the artic weather, this was the sixth home match on the trot, and, if that wasn’t enough, we had Hartlepool due down to this neck of the woods the following Friday. Jeepers, it was hardly worth the Amber Army going home! One thing I must mention here is Len’s ambition to win the Welsh Cup the following season; indeed, he called it “A Prime target” as just a week after humbling West

Ham United in the Third Round of the English Cup we were suitably embarrassed ourselves by Welsh League outfit Ton Pentre, who beat us 2-0 at Somerton in our homeland version. Hmm, possibly your beloved club summed up in just one short sentence there! However, our supporters didn’t christen Mr. Ashurst “Sir Len” for nothing, and true to his word we lifted the cup the following season. At the bottom of Len’s piece there is an absolute belter of a photograph taken at the Wayfayer’s Cafe, a regular haunt for the lads after training situated on Chepstow Road, whose owners had generously offered the fellas a free steak for beating the Hammers. Pictured eagerly taking up the offer were Colin Sinclair, John Relish, Tony Byrne, Dave Bruton and Steve Warriner. Page four and almost all of five gave us a look at Colchester, who were a level above us at the time and a few of their players are still well remembered by yours truly in the likes of Ian Allinson, Bobby Hodge, Steve Leslie, future Everton manager Mike Walker, as well as a future County player too (albeit briefly) in the imposing Steve Dowman. They were managed at the time by the Edinburgh-born Bobby Roberts and details are also given of our only previous FA Cup meeting - November 15th, 1969, was the date in question and County progressed to Round Two thanks to a 2-1-win courtesy of goals by Andy White and Jeff Thomas. I doubt they got given free steaks though!

Amidst an incredibly busy page seven, a cursory look is taken behind the scenes from the Saturday morning’s abortive trip to Wimbledon, which likewise fell foul to Jack Frost, as well as a round-up of news from our fellow Division Four clubs. Only two other sides from our level, namely Aldershot and York City had made it through to Round Four of the world’s greatest and oldest cup competition. The Shots were at home to Swindon Town whilst the Minstermen had a date at the City Ground with Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest. Aldershot duly beat Swindon 2-1 at the Recreation Ground whereas York went down, not unexpectedly, 3-1 to Forest. In the ‘Nostalgia Spot’ there is a glance back at our 1-2 defeat at First Division Burnley in the 4th Round which took place in the1963/64 season, whenan excited 1,500 Ironsides ventured north, many on special trains to watch our unlucky defeat at Turf Moor against the team that finished 3rd the previous season. This edition’s ‘Player Profile’ featured our midfielder Nigel Vaughan, who was now an established first team regular. Nigel, then just 19-years-old, had already featured in 22 first-team league and cup matches with the season only just over halfway through, and had set himself high standards. He had also started to notch a few goals to compliment his excellent all-round game, which lead him to become a full Welsh International in the early 1980s whilst still adorning the amber shirt. At the time, the elf-like Nige had two youth caps and was hoping to get recognised at the next level in the Under 21s. Following some terrific action photos of our recent 3-2 win over Reading at a foggy Somerton Park, up pops Richard Shepherd’s ‘Inside Somerton’ and Rich is in overdrive weighing in with eleven snippets of happenings for us. Up first was news of a victory over Cardiff City. OK, it was only in the Radio Wales Sports Quiz, but our team of Alan Cording, Jeff Challingsworth and Robert Watkins clipped the Bluebirds’ wings 28-23, so well done to them! News too was delivered of the planned upgrade to the Somerton floodlights that were initially installed in 1957, as the new system was going to make them around six times stronger than the ones being currently used. The previously mentioned Reading match had also been watched by Watford’s players and officials as their fixture with Swansea City had been called off, but alas, Elton John was not amongst their number, however our goalkeeper’s dad Eddie Plumley, the Hornet’s secretary, certainly was and enjoyed watching his lad Gary earn us that win. The penultimate page was where we found all we

wanted to know regarding results, fixtures and team line-ups with ‘When-Where-Who’. That mammoth run of home matches had begun on Boxing Day when Torquay United had held us 1-1. This was followed up by a 1-0 win on December 30th over Port Vale before we KO’d John Lyall’s West Ham 2-1. Up next was that Reading five-goal thriller, when we had been 1-2 down before that infamous reverse to mighty Ton Pentre! The Hartlepool clash also ended in a 3-2 home win, for the record. Life was seldom boring! This encounter with the U’s ended in a disappointing 0-0 stalemate, watched by 10,329; some no doubt attracted by a voucher given at the turnstile to ensure a Manchester United ticket … if needed. Alas, it wasn’t, and we still haven’t faced United in a competitive encounter to this very day. The Essex boys beat us 1-0 in the Layer Road replay that was played on February the 5th. Colchester lost to United 0-1 in the Fifth Round and the Old Trafford outfit made it all the way to Wembley before falling in the final to Arsenal and Alan Sunderland, who beat them 3-2.

Teams:

County: Gary Plumley, Richard Walden, Tony Byrne (Steve Warriner), Trevor Thompson, Grant Davies, Dave Bruton, Keith Oakes, Steve Lowndes, Howard Goddard, Eddie Woods, Nigel Vaughan. Colchester (as printed): Mike Walker, Micky Cook, Steve Wright, Bobby Hodge, Steve Wignall, Steve Dowman, Steve Foley, Bobby Gough, Paul Dyer, Trevor Lee, Ian Allison. A LOOK BACK…

AT OUR RECENT RECORD IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE FA CUP.

T

here is something of a rarity happening this afternoon as we play our first home game in the first round of the FA Cup since the 2017/18 season. On that occasion we entertained Walsall and pulled off a fine 2-1 victory. Since then, though, we have been drawn away four times on the bounce as we can see below. • Last season we were drawn away at League One, Morecambe, and before a disappointing crowd of 1879 we suffered a 1-0 defeat when Aaron Wildig scored a sixty eighth minute winner.

the game and were leading 2-0 with goals from Frank Nouble and Shawn McCoulskey., and although the Saddlers pulled a goal back through Amadou Bakayoko, it was County that hung on to claim their place in the next round. •

A trip to Alfreton Town in 2016/17 ended in a 1-1 draw but County won the replay 4-1 although they needed extra time to do so.

A trip to another non-league side in 2015/16 took us to Brackley Town and the teams played out a 2-2 draw with Curtis McDonald equalising in time added on for the home side.

County got off to a perfect start in the replay when Lenell John-Lewis gave us a first minute lead and our place in round two was sealed after a comfortable 4-1 win.

The previous season took us to the East end of London and a game at Leyton Orient.

Ashley Baker, gave us the lead, eight minutes before the break but just three minutes later the O`s equalised with a goal from Hector Kyrorianou.

County, though grabbed a winner thirteen minutes from the end when Jamie Devitt fired home the winner.

Another away tie in 2019/0 took us to the east side of England and a trip to Grimsby Town.

The draw in 2014/15 again gave us an away tie, this time at Luton Town who went on to win a very entertaining game 4-2.

Luke Waterfall gave the Mariners the lead, just two minutes before the break, but ten minutes from time County drew level thanks to a goal from Padraig Amond who converted a penalty.

We failed to make the first round proper in season 2012/13 but in 2011/12 we were drawn at HOME against Shrewsbury Town.

A crowd of 2362 turned up to see Terry Gornell give the Shrews the win after scoring the only goal of the game four minutes before the break.

Swansea City came a calling back in 2006/07 and by half time were already into the next round leading 3-0, with Lee Trunde giving them a seventh minute lead and Leon Britton finished off the scoring for the visitors with a goal on the stroke of half time.

In 2001/0 we were drawn away at Blackpool and after drawing 2-2 we lost the replay 4-1, with Brett Ormerod on the scoresheet twice.

In the replay second half goals, from Amond again, and Joss Labadie, were enough to see us through to the second round.

In 2018/19 we were drawn away to Metropolitan Police but we made no mistake giving a professional performance which resulted in a 2-0 victory.

We have already mentioned that our last first round home tie was back in 2017/18 when we entertained Walsall but a superb County performance saw us through after a fine 2-1 victory.

County were dominant for seventy minutes of

View From The Boardroom A warm welcome to all the Directors, Players, and Officials of Colchester United for this afternoon’s First Round FA Cup tie.

I

t has been a busy introduction for the new management team with 3 games within a week. It was great for Graham and Joe to get off to a winning start against Colchester and then follow that up with two impressive draws against Mansfield and Northampton respectively. A very promising start and in no small part due to the fans who turned up in their numbers both home and away. Thank you as always for the tremendous support. To mark Graham’s arrival, we will be holding a ‘Meet the Manager’ evening in a couple of weeks. More details to follow on that shortly. Following on the theme of events and to celebrate Wales being in the World Cup the fan zone will be active for all the Wales group fixtures. Again, we will communicate details of what is on shortly. Supporters would have seen the event we are holding in collaboration with the Dragons for the opening fixture against the USA on the 21st November. Graham and a number of the players will be in attendance. Next week’s game against Stockport (12th) will be our Remembrance game where we will remember the fallen. The following day the club will be part of the Remembrance Day parade within the city. The club will have representation throughout the club covering Directors, Officials, Supporters, Academy etc. This event has become a firm feature in the club’s calendar. It was really nice to see our Clwb Spytty members watching the first team training session this week. As always, the players and staff took the time to engage with our junior supporters. Thanks to everyone involved. There is always lots going on in and around the club, but it would be remiss of me not to congratulate the families of Matty Dolan and Adam Lewis who both welcomed new arrivals to their households. Welcome to the amber army! Focusing on today’s game We would like to extend a big welcome to Griffithstown FC Reds as our Club of the Day. They are a Junior Football League Club, who play football in the Torfaen League.

The Club, in its current form, has been running since 1976 and they are pleased to say that they still have a few of the founder members involved with running the club today. All their committee members, Managers and Coaches are volunteers and give their time freely to encourage the local youngsters to take part in a competitive sporting activity. The club cater for Boys and Girls aged between 6 to 16 years, all play in various age banded leagues, More info can be found at www.griffithstownafc.net/ As part of our Remembrance activities, we would like to welcome the Newport Veteran’s Hub as our Charity of the Day. The NVH Newport Veterans Hub is a veterans social and support group that was established on 15 November 2019. Their aim is to bring veterans out of isolation and give them a place to socialise and make new friends, creating their own support network. Their mission is to make Newport one of the best places for supporting veterans and their families. They are located at Newport Stadium, Newport International Sports Village, Stadium Way, Newport, NP19 4PT and opening times are 14:30-20:00 every Thursday. More information on the great work they do can be found at https://www.newportveteranshub.org.uk/ All at Newport County AFC were saddened to hear of the passing of former County star and FA Cup legend, Ronnie Radford. Ronnie joined our club in 1969 and made an immediate impression by winning the Supporters’ Player of the Year award. Ronnie played 68 times for our club and scored 7 goals, one of which was a volley against Bradford Park Avenue which he described as equally as good as his FA Cup effort Good luck to Graham and lads this afternoon. raham Coughlan's Newport County reign began with victory thanks to Will Evans' early goal. Coughlan had just one training session with his players after being named Newport boss on the Thursday before the game. But the new era started in ideal fashion when Evans headed in from Adam Lewis' cross. Colchester's Noah Chilvers forced a sharp save from Joe Day as Newport held on for just a second home league win of the season. Luke Hannant also went close for the visitors, who drop to twenty third in the table having won just once in nine league matches. Newport striker Omar Bogle came close when his effort clipped the bar, while Aaron Wildig saw a shot saved. Evans' early effort proved enough, though, to give

Coughlan the ideal start to life at Rodney Parade, with his new side climbing to 18th. Newport boss Graham Coughlan: "It was tense, it was nervy - I would say there was a lot of pressure on both teams going into the fixture, given the magnitude of it. "I thought our lads handled it very, very well - they came out of the traps and showed a signal of intent. "We had a number of opportunities to score, we just couldn't kill the game off. We had chance after chance, but I have to say from one to 11, the character, the spirit, the fight, the determination the work-rate, the attitude - all of them superlatives. "I'm really, really proud of them to be honest and I've said that to them." We caught up with a little of the action

SUPPORTERS' TRUST

WHAT IS THE SUPPORTERS' TRUST?

HOW CAN YOU HELP THE TRUST?

The Newport County AFC Supporters' Trust is one of more than 140 Supporters' Trusts that exist under the umbrella of Supporters' Direct, a national body that provides assistance to supporters "who wish to play a responsible part in the life of the football club they support".

There are a variety of ways in which County supporters can help the Trust.

The Trust was originally formed in 2001 and took a controlling stake in the football club in October 2015 following a community share issue which saw County supporters raise a magnificent £236,000 in just a month. Since then, Newport County AFC has been a supporter-owned, community-based club. The primary purpose of the Trust is to provide funding to the club. Our aim is to donate at least £100,000 a season to the club. As well as being owners of an EFL club, Trust members receive a range of benefits depending on their membership tier. All members have guaranteed priority tickets for cup matches. More details about the Trust can be found on our website: www.ncafctrust.org WHO IS ON THE TRUST BOARD?

BECOME A MEMBER: Becoming a Trust member guarantees you a range of benefits and helps the Trust donate more money to the club. Our aim is to donate £100,000 a season to help the manager.

The membership packages are as follows... Bronze: £5 a month; Silver: £10 a month; Gold: £20 a month; Platinum: £50+ a month. Corporate membership is available at £1,000 a year or £600 for six months. More details here: www.ncafctrust.org/join EASYFUNDRAISING: Join eosyfundroising and you can collect free donations for theTrust (and therefore the Club) every time you buy something online. It won't cost you a penny extra. Just start your online shopping first at www.eosyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ncafctrus t/, then shop as normal. Retailers will then make a small donation to say 'thank you'. There are more than 3,200 retailers to choose from and so far this scheme hos raised almost £18,500 for the Trust.

The Board of the Supporters' Trust currently consists of seven elected directors and two coopted directors. As the Trust is the majority shareholder in the club, all Trust directors ore also registered with the Football League as directors of the club having passed the EFL's Owners and Directors Test.

VOLUNTEER: The Trust and the Club appreciates the many outstanding volunteers who give up their time to help in a variety of ways. If you have the time and skills you think could benefit the club, then please email info@ncafctrust.org

Your Trust/Club elected directors are: Paul Marks (Trust chairman), Gavin Foxall, Shaun Johnson, Mike Everett, Joe Crocker, Bob Herrin and Kevin Ward. The two co-opted directors are Mark Crook and Peter Madigan.

Barnardo’s Cymru believes that every child deserves a happy and healthy childhood, no matter who they are or what they have been through. We work with vulnerable children, young people, families, and communities across Wales, helping them to build a better future. Around 1 in 3 children in the UK are now living in poverty and we continue to support families across Wales with advice and support such as food vouchers and specialist support through our partnership with Citizen’s Advice. We have launched new helplines including one for Ukrainian refugees, and online advice to support parents through our virtual Barnardo’s Family Space and teachers through the Barnardo’s Education Community. We are very proud to provide a range of support across Newport including family support, mental health and wellbeing, disability support, young carers, care leavers, domestic abuse, child sexual exploitation victims and Fostering. It is fantastic to have the support of Newport County AFC who have helped us provide opportunities for young people and families to attend matches, get involved more in their communities as well as supporting us directly in our services. Thank you, Newport County!

Mention of Colchester United and the FA Cup inevitably brings memories of their historic Fifth Round 3-2 victory over Don Revie’s Leeds United in February 1971, possibly the greatest FA Cup shock of all time. There are just four surviving members of the starting 11 from that historic afternoon at Layer Road, and one of them, twogoal Ray Crawford, is still remembered for his brace, even though he managed two caps for England, scoring in a 4-1 victory over Austria, one cap for Malaya while on national service and the Football League Championship for Ipswich Town in 1962. Now 86, the Portsmouth-born striker recalled the events of February 1971 in an interview with ‘The Guardian’: ‘We had a good week’s training out on the practice pitch. Our manager, Dick Graham, had sent one of our injured players up to Leeds to watch them and he came back with little things we thought we could exploit. We focused on corners and free-kicks and it came off for us. I always played well against Jack Charlton and said before the match that I usually scored against him. When I met him again at Sir Alf Ramsey’s funeral, he introduced me to someone else and said: “That fella over there, he is not tall but he always seemed to beat me in the air.” That was a lovely compliment.’ Colchester’s Cup dream ended at the next stage, with a 5-0 Quarter Final defeat at Everton, while Crawford left the club at the end of the season, heading for Durban City in South Africa. He retired from football in 1984 after spells coaching at Brighton & Hove Albion and Portsmouth, though his autobiography, ‘Curse of the Jungle Boy’, recalls his adventures at Layer Road and elsewhere: ‘Afterwards Don Revie came in our dressing room, shook our hands and congratulated us. We never saw the players afterwards. Their bus left 15 minutes after the final whistle. The funny thing is that I’ve won the League title, played for England and scored300-odd goals, but I get far more publicity and glory from that 90 minutes than from anything else.’ Colchester: Graham Smith, Brian Hall, Bobby Cram, John Gilchrist, Brian Garvey, John Kurila, Brian Lewis, Dave Simmons (scored 54), Mick Mahon, Ray Crawford (scored 18, 24), Brian Gibbs. Sub not used: Micky Cook. Leeds: Gary Sprake, Paul Reaney, Terry Cooper, Mick Bates, Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter (scored 60), Peter Lorimer, Allan Clarke, Mick Jones, Johnny Giles (scored 78), Paul Madeley. Sub not used: Rod Belfitt.

PAST MANAGER …

DICK GRAHAMwas the man in charge at United for the Leeds giant killing and the former Crystal Palace goalkeeper was one of three inaugural inductees into the club’s hall of fame in 2007. He had managed Palace, Orient and Walsall prior to his appointment to the Layer Road hotseat in 1968 and led U’s to sixth and 10th place finishes in the fourth tier ahead of the 1970-71 campaign, which ended with our visitors one more finishing in sixth spot, two points adrift of fourth placed York City who claimed the final promotion place. However, the cup glory was not over for ‘Graham’s Grandads’, as the media named the aging Layer Road squad, as the 1971-72 campaign started with United taking part in the short-lived Watney Cup, a knock-out competition for the highest goal scorers in each of the top four divisions not to have been promoted or won the league. The final was to be televised live, an added bonus as only the FA Cup received such an honour half a century ago and Graham’s side ensured that they contested it with victories over Luton Town and Carlisle United. Top-flight West Bromwich Albion stood between Colchester and silverware and Graham’s side triumphed on penalties after an exciting 4-4 draw, with midfielder Phil Bloss tucking away the winning spot-kick in the first televised penalty shoot-out. Graham remained in charge for one more season, which ended in an 11th placed finish and a double defeat to Newport County, leaving the club in September 1972 following a disagreement with a shareholder. He passed away in March 2013 at the age of 90, with his former goalkeeper Barry Smith, who joined his hometown club shortly after the Leeds game, telling ‘The East Anglian Gazette’: ‘When I left Colchester, we still kept in touch and I met up with him many times since. He wasn’t just interested in you when you were his player, he followed your career afterwards. He may have had a gruff exterior but he was a genuine and caring man. He instilled a lot of belief into the team and that is why they beat Leeds that day.’

COUNTY v UNITED

County’s FA Cup tie with this afternoon’s visitors in January 1979, and its resulting heartache for Newport supporters, is featured in Chris Shingler’s ‘Amber in the Attic’, though the two clubs also met in the same competition nine seasons earlier with an altogether happier outcome for those of a tangerine persuasion. As with the case this afternoon, the two sides had locked horns in Newport in League action shortly before, with Bobby Ferguson’s Ironsides despatching Colchester 4-1 and it was the same outcome, though a narrower score line in the FA Cup, with goals from Andy White and Jeff Thomas either side of a Ferguson own goal, securing a 2-1 victory over Dick Graham’s U’s in front of a Somerton Park crowd of 3800. County: Len Weare, Dai Williams, Mike McLaughlin, Bobby Ferguson (o.g. 24), Allen Wood, Len Hill, Jeff Thomas (scored 50), Ronnie Radford, Ray Mabbutt, Albert Derrick (junior), Andy White (scored 1). Sub not used: Martyn Sprague. Colchester: Graham Smith, Micky Cook, Brian Hall, Brian Wood, Dave Bickles, Eddie Presland, Micky Brown, Brian Gibbs, Roy Massey (sub. Jim Oliver, HT), Danny Light, Ray Whittaker.

UNITED TODAY …

Work ahead Stevenage manager Steve Evans believes U’s Head Coach Matt Bloomfield has a ‘humongous amount of work to do’ to turn around Colchester’s season. The Lamex Stadium boss saw his promotion-chasing side held 1-1 by our Essex visitors last weekend, who dropped to the bottom of the League Two table. The experienced Evans, who has enjoyed spells in charge of Boston United, Crawley Town, Leeds United, Rotherham United and Gillingham among others, reflected: ‘I only look at ourselves.I have enough mental issues trying to deal with my group rather than worry about what Matty is trying to do with his group. If I have a lot of work to do, he has a humongous amount of work to do.’

HEAD COACH’S VIEW …

Matt Bloomfield reflecting on his side’s home point against high-flying Stevenage seven days ago: ‘I thought we deserved the draw. Stevenage have a very good team, with some very good footballers. I thought our boys stood up to the task. We went ahead and, when it went to 1-1, I thought we were losing a little bit of the ascendancy so we changed formation, made a couple of changes and I thought it sparked more energy and life into us.’

FAN’S VIEW …

‘Don’t know why people are bringing the fact we’re bottom of the league into this. MB is taking extra steps to build a relationship with the fans. No harm in that. We complain about there being no connection, but when the head coach tries to, some still complain.’ @TheLatestColUwith a positive message.

FROM THE CHAPLAIN A belated but nevertheless warm welcome to Graham Coughlan and Joe Dunne to the club. We hope they will be happy and of course successful. Today we are playing in the FA Cup and we look back with pleasure on some of our past successes. Let us hope that this season will bring a successful cup run. We must also remember next week’s Carabao cup match and hope for success there. Best wishes, Keith, club chaplain.
