The exercises were held at the Liberty Baptist Church Worship Center in Hampton in celebration of the graduating class of 2015. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., delivered the keynote address. And that is what you do every day when you walk through the gate.” NNS President Matt Mulherin encouraged the graduates to take risks at the company. “I want you to have courage,” he said. “I want you to think outside the box, and I want you to challenge... Did You Know that NNS Has a Facilities Service Desk? Employees can contact the Facilities Service Desk at 688-9888, 24-hours a day, seven days a week for any failure of equipment or any facility problem. The desk fields more than 1,500 calls and 250 emails per month. When a failure or problem is called in, the desk operator performs a triage on the situation. They will ask questions regarding the asset, location, problem, and caller’s department. The situations are then logged into SAP and coded for priority so they can be properly addressed. See below for guidelines on when to call the desk. • Heating/cooling
• Potholes
• Roof leaks
• Power outages

In addition, there is an online form for non-urgent issues on the O45 Yardnet website. When should you not call the Facilities Service Desk? Computer issues, printer or fax problems, security concerns or emergencies (fire, medical, etc.) Other tips include: When you see an issue, don’t assume somebody else has phoned it in; if you’ve called in a trouble ticket, tape the ticket number to the problem if at all possible; if a ticket has been called in and worked, and the problem has not been resolved, call it in again.

NNS Dedicates its 13th Habitat for Humanity House CONTINUED FROM PG 1
Ray Bagley, NNS vice president of Trades Operations, spoke on behalf of the shipyard and presented the house keys and a plaque to the Coleman family. “This is a wonderful partnership we have with Habitat for Humanity,” Bagley said. “For 130 years, our shipbuilders have built the finest ships in the world. But also our shipbuilders know what goes into building a home for LaShand and her family. We are happy to be a part of this new chapter.” LaShand said she is proud to call the house her own. “As a single mother of two, my heart’s desire has always been to own my home and have a nice place for my children to live,” she said. 2016 marks the first year that shipyard volunteers will complete two houses for Habitat for Humanity. Newport News’ 14th house will be complete this summer. Tina Howell, a learning and organizational development representative at NNS, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity
