NNS Holds First Career and Development Expo On July 18, the Career and Professional Development department (O44) invited all Newport News Shipbuilding employees to the first Career and Development Expo. More than 300 shipbuilders attended the event, where NNS resources were showcased through a mixture of informational sessions, expo tables and panel discussions with senior leaders. Advice was also provided on how to formulate and expand career paths and options at NNS. “There needs to be an intentional plan for developing a career path. This event helps people figure that out using available
opportunities at NNS,” said Tina Howell (O44), coordinator of the expo. The informational sessions covered topics ranging from networking skills, resume writing, to finding a mentor. Watch the Latest Edition of Focus NNS Join host Bryan Moore for the latest edition of Focus NNS. NNS to Test Shipyard Emergency Notification System this Week
Final testing of the shipyard’s new Mass Area Communications System (MAC) will be conducted July 22– 24 during day and night shifts. Messages will be broadcasted through the entire system several times on each of the three days from rooftop speakers and inside some outlying office buildings. Please disregard the messages.
