HII Family Health Center to Host Open House this Saturday
Newport News Shipbuilding honored the extraordinary achievements of 126 shipbuilders from across the company at the 2017 President's Model of Excellence Awards celebration at the Newport News Marriott at City Center on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Shipbuilders are invited to attend an open house at the HII Family Health Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, to see everything the facility has to offer.
The MOE is NNS' highest honor and recognizes teams and individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the company's strategic objectives through their performance and accomplishments in five categories: Courage to Make a Difference, Customer Satisfaction, Leadership, Innovative Excellence and Operational Excellence. NNS President Jennifer Boykin congratulated this year's honorees for distinguishing themselves among more than 20,000 employees. "I believe that all of our shipbuilders come to work each day to do their job, and to do it well. And that is why being selected as a Model of Excellence is such an outstanding... achievement. You have all been chosen as the very best," she said. CONTINUED ON PG 2
The event is open to all Newport News Shipbuilding employees and their families. In addition to tours of the health center, there will be food, family activities, music and drawings for a variety of giveaways including gift cards, FitBits and a Yeti Cooler.
