Meet Freddy Saxton WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO NEWPORT? My parents moved to Newport when I was a child, so I was fortunate enough to attend high school here on the coast. I served in the Marine Corps for 6 years after I graduated which gave me the opportunity to see a lot of the US and abroad. I came to realize through all of this that the quality of life in Newport is hard to beat, so I returned and have been a full time resident ever since. WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING ASPECT OF YOUR JOB? I find it particularly rewarding to run into previous clients in town sometimes a year or two following their purchase and learning of the wonderful experiences they’ve enjoyed in their new homes. A
home is typically the biggest purchase a family or individual will make in their lifetimes, so “getting it right” is highly rewarding. WHAT INSPIRED YOUR INTEREST IN REAL ESTATE? When I returned to Newport following my service in the Marines, I spent several years as a contractor building custom homes with my father. It gave me great satisfaction to construct homes that would provide shelter and enjoyment for years to come. The transition to full time real estate was a natural fit, and I often re-encounter homes that I once built as a contractor today as a listing or selling broker.
