Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts This small progressive liberal arts college is located in Greenwich Village in NYC. We bring together scholarly rigor and intellectual freedom. Our open, writing-based curriculum offers fiercely independent scholars the opportunity to study primary texts, engage in small seminars, work closely with faculty, and be part of an intimate community taking a critical and active approach to social action and cultural change. Our liberal arts students also benefit from studying and collaborating across New School disciplines.

At The New School, we know college isn’t just where or what. It’s who. Who motivates you to play that solo? Who shows you it’s good to try again, and again, and again? Who helps you grasp the power of design? Who nurtures your inner dissident? Who takes you to the best dumpling restaurant south of Canal Street? Who brings you herbal tea when you’re sick? Who invites you into new worlds? Let us help you become part of this nurturing, inspiring community.

Housing Housing isn’t just four walls and a roof. It’s an opportunity to form bonds, ease the transition from home to college, learn to appreciate differences, and make new friends for life. Our five residences extend from Greenwich Village to Chelsea and offer a nurturing, supportive environment for every student as well as many social, educational, and cultural activities. We guarantee housing to every incoming freshman who applies by the housing deadline.
