Glenhurst is comprised completely of two-story homes and is possibly the most unique new-home community in the area.
Last chance for first-time buyers to get two-story home for $89,500 at Glenhurst Don’t wait another minute! There’s still time to buy a two-story home for less than $90,000 at Whittaker Homes’ Glenhurst community in Wentzville, but this may be your LAST chance. The $8,000 federal tax credit expires on April 30 and the home must be closed on by June 30. Glenhurst, on Pointe Prairie Road just off Interstate 70, is comprised completely of two-story homes, is possibly the most unique new-home community in the area. Now it’s also the most affordable. Recently after introducing five new townhome models at Glenhurst, sales went from two per month to two a week, noted President Greg Whittaker. Most popular are the larger models with three bedrooms, he said. Prices start at just $97,500 for a threebedroom two-story with two-car garage. Even more exciting: The $8,000 federal tax credit means qualified first-time homebuyers can move in for as little as $89,500. “Our goal was to be able to offer a twostory home at Glenhurst for under $100,000 and we did it,” said Whittaker Homes President Greg Whittaker. Not only did he and Whittaker architect Tim Bussey design a full-featured home at that price, the federal tax credit gave them the opportunity to offer it for less than $90,000. “Low interest rates, lower starting prices and the $8,000 first-time buyer tax credit make this the best time ever to buy a new home,” Whittaker noted. Buyers must
hurry, however, because the federal tax credit expires in little more than two weeks. “That means the home must be built by June 30 to qualify,” said Whittaker. The five new townhome models feature new exterior designs and colors. Three of the homes take advantage of building space over the two-car garage to offer a generous loft and enlarged master suite. This includes the Value Series 1218 (which refers to its square footage) which has three large bedrooms with walk-in closets, at a base price of $97,500. Deduct the $8,000 tax credit and a first-time buyer can enjoy the pleasures and tax advantages of homeownership for $89,900. Two of the Value Series homes have 1,490 square feet with three bedrooms and 2½ baths and Whittaker offers several optional second-floor designs to meet the needs of any buyer. Glenhurst is unique in the fact that the townhomes are only attached at the twocar garage. Plus, buyers own the front yard and large back yard so there are no monthly maintenance fees. You won’t find this in many other townhome communities, and you certainly won’t find it in this price range, Whittaker said. Buyers also enjoy an ideally secluded neighborhood just minutes from Wentzville Parkway conveniences. To visit Glenhurst take I-70 to Wentzville Parkway to west on the South Service Road to left on Point Prairie Road. Call 636-332-9988.

Wyndgate Forest: Convenience in the country There’s nothing more country than Sassafras. And if living in a park is your cup of tea, you’ll be happy to hear that Thomas & Suit Homes has broken ground on a new inventory home, the Sassafras II, on a spectacular wooded homesite in Wyndgate Forest near Highway N and Highway 40 in St. Charles County. Buyers are attracted to Wyndgate Forest’s atmosphere, nestled in the trees but minutes away from shopping and Highway 40, noted Steve Thomas, president of T&S Homes. “It’s a great, convenient location, but you still get the country feeling - a feeling of serenity with the trees, especially now that they are just starting to be in full bloom,” he said. “The neighborhood also has a pool, four parks, a lake and walking trails.” The new Sassafras II ranch, with more than 2,600 square feet, will feature three bedrooms, two baths (the bedrooms are “split” with the master on the opposite side of the home from the other bedrooms), plus a study, open kitchen, breakfast room and hearth room; a covered porch; dining room; and great room with fireplace. All of the living areas, with the exception of the bedrooms and study, will have 11-foot ceilings. The kitchen will have granite counter-
tops. Hardwood floors will be in the foyer, kitchen, breakfast room and hearth room. This inventory home marks the debut of the Sassafras II plan, and will be priced at $365,000. The Sassafras II is a new design based on the Sassafras model which is displayed at Wyndgate Forest. “Buyers love that Steve is on the job site every day, overseeing the construction of each home every step of the way,” said Brenda Suit, partner and chief financial officer of T&S Homes. Thomas and Suit have a combined 30 years of experience in new-home building. “We also are committed to quality construction,” noted Thomas. “But we’re not only dedicated to providing beautiful homes,” he added, “we’re also dedicated to having a community where we can bring families together to enjoy their life.” At Wyndgate Forest, Thomas & Suit Homes offers distinctive homes in the peaceful surroundings of 55 acres of common ground with parks, walking and biding trailers, sports courts, a community pool and spectacular wooded views. “When you’re here, you would never dream you’re only minutes from shopping , restaurants, schools, hospitals and highways,” Thomas pointed out. dents also enjoy the AAA-rated Wentzville School District. Each T&S home at Wyndgate Forest includes features that are often costly extras with other builders. Despite the economy, they haven’t taken lots of standards out of their homes. Buyers love that they include as standard: threecar garage, architectural shingles, 42-inch wood-burning fireplace, 9-foot ceilings on the main level, hardwood in the kitchen, breakfast room and foyer, furniture grade cabinets with ¾-inch shelving and full extended drawers, large oval marble tub
and separate marble shower with glass enclosure and corner seat in the master. Prices at Wyndgate Forest start at $299,900. Thomas & Suit invites everyone to tour the new Sassafrass display and the entire Wyndgate Forest community. Take Highway 40 west to left on DD to right on Diehr Road a half mile. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. For information, call Community Sales Manager Christy Brandt at 636-561-2120, or visit www.tshomes. net. The company also builds at Boulder Ridge off Highway Z in Wentzville.
