Grow LN6
welcome Grow LN6 continues to go from strength to strength. Working together, the partnership has had input and supported a number of key projects benefitting both businesses and residents alike over the past year. Work has progressed on securing new developments at Teal Park with two schemes coming forward for new business units. And in May an improvement in the number of stopping trains at Hykeham means more frequent trains to Lincoln and Nottingham for both businesses and residents. Helping to pull this together, Paula Colburn has been recruited to work across the partners. She will be calling on businesses, enabling you to access the services you need and addressing any issues you may have. Based within the LN6 area, she is bringing together the work of Grow LN6 with that of Access Lincoln and North Hykeham Town Council to become your ‘go to’ person for business issues.
ln6 The LN6 area encapsulates a number of business advantages: 87.2acres/35.3ha of employment land Largest new employment location in East Midlands High quality environment on edge of Lincoln Well located on A46 and rail links

Hykeham Station Rail Improvements Working with Department for Transport, NKDC, City of Lincoln Council and Lincolnshire County Council joined forces with four Nottinghamshire local activities as well as the two Local Enterprise Partnerships to fund a three year improvement of rail services along the Castle Line. The Castle Line links Lincoln with Newark and Nottingham and provides faster links between the cities and beyond. Services at Hykeham have increased by 50% on weekdays, resulting in an additional 13 trains a day. Journey times on the majority of trains to Nottingham will also be quicker. There is an additional early morning service to Nottingham and a late departure from Nottingham.
Following on from the Access LN6 improvements, businesses and residents alike are urged to use the new services. If they are not used they will be lost in three years time. It is therefore important to make this a success as this is the first stage to improving services to London. For more information about the services please see the insert which has the timetable or see www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/train-times

Blackwood Court
Blackwood Court is a scheme of industrial starter units being developed by North Kesteven District Council. The development will provide 19 units ranging from 500 – 2000 sq. ft. for start-up and small businesses. In total 20,000 sq. ft. of commercial space will be provided for B1, B2 and B8 use classes. The scheme received planning permission on 22nd April and work is due to start on site in summer 2015 and be available early 2016. Based on the other units within NKDC’s portfolio it is expected that these units could support 98 business and create/safeguard 280 jobs over a 25 year period.
Vincent Court
Vincent Court is a speculative development by Taylor Lindsey with units ranging from 2,600 – 12,500 sq. ft. Totalling 26,700 sq. ft., the scheme is aimed at established and expanding businesses within the B1, B2 and B8 use classes. Blackwood Court and Vincent Court complement each other by providing a range of business premises for a wide variety of businesses within this much sought after industrial park. Enquiries on either development should be made to Hodgson Elkington on 01522 698888.

Hykeham Neighbourhood Plan Update The Hykeham Neighbourhood Plan is now well into its second year of development. The first consultation period has taken place with all of the community and businesses being contacted to ask for their views and feedback on how to shape the community in the future. This has been met with a mixed response and the feedback is being analysed and collated to lead the group through to the Issues and Options policies that will form part of the plan. It is hoped that an Environmental Policy, a Housing Policy and a Transport Policy will be created using the research and information that has been collected throughout the last two years. Feedback has also been received from the Grow LN6 business community and these views will be fed into the plan. The date of the next Hykeham Neighbourhood Plan is Wednesday 29th July and the group welcomes new members from any sector of the community. Tracey Broughton, Town Clerk North Hykeham Town Council
Now that external funding for the programme has ceased, some of the good works started by Access LN6 are being carried forward in a wider programme. Access Lincoln is now focussed on businesses who want to increase the numbers of people travelling to their organisation on foot, by bicycle or public transport, and want to develop transport schemes to help their employees travel to work. Specifically aimed at those businesses within LN6 but crucially now also in other areas, who wish to voluntarily encourage staff to travel in a more environmentallyfriendly way, the Access Lincoln programme provides specialised support and advice on all aspects of travel planning to help businesses achieve their goals. A key part of the programme is the development and implementation of a work-based Travel Plan –
this is a document setting out the ongoing travel issues and highlighting measures to promote sustainable transport options. Schemes that can be offered to businesses include advice on infrastructure changes, postcode mapping, Sustainable Travel Grants and personalised travel planning for staff. The successful Hirebike scheme is also being developed and now features two tariffs – one for day members and an annual membership rate. There is a growing network of Hirebike stations across Lincoln and in the Grow LN6 area that users can utilise. The popular Dr Bike Sessions will also continue to enable bike users to keep their bikes in tip top condition.
