Sleaford Leisure Centre No 5 February 2013
Contractors are considerate
RG Carters Ltd has been found to be performing exceptionally in the first of two Considerate Contractors’ Scheme visits. The Considerate Contractors Scheme which aims to improve the image of construction, independently monitors sites against the scheme’s Site Code of Considerate Practice, to highlight areas where improvements are considered necessary and to encourage best practice beyond standard industry requirements. The £2.85million Sleaford Leisure Centre refurbishment project was found to have been exceptionally organised by RG
Carters Ltd, and has displayed very high standards in all of the categories as audited. Categories include; enhancing the appearance, respecting the community, protecting the environment, securing everyone’s safety and caring for the workforce. The visit found that RG Carters Ltd had adopted a very pro-active attitude to working with North Kesteven District Council, and the appearance of the site and its systems and procedures for safety management were also highly noted – overall a well presented project.

Improvements could only be enhanced and evidenced under this scheme, with the creation of a lasting legacy of the project for the local community, and with the creation of a positive impact upon the local environment once the project had been completed. Plans of which have been put in Site Manager, Jason Wilson said: “We are extremely pleased with the first scoring of the site. We have worked extremely hard as a team and with the district council to get things right on the site, for the benefit of not only the workforce but the community as well.”
place to include a time capsule and arts project. Scores between eight (excellent) and nine (exceptional) were given throughout the final report, with a final scoring of 42 out of 50 overall. Council Leader, Councillor Mrs Marion Brighton OBE, said: “This project means a lot to the district, and to see that the construction team think as much of this project as we do is overwhelming. The team are still on schedule for a September completion, and have worked extremely well with our officers to deliver high standards, and plan for best quality of finish in every instance.”
