Lifelong Learning is a core commitment for the firm both internally within their workforce and externally in the community. The firm works closely with universities across Bahrain on creating work experience within the future generation of leaders through their Hussain Kasim Internship programme. The firm is also committed to developing the national talent pool in relation to professional skills, and has been supporting young Bahraini graduates including financing their endeavors in higher education through the flagship programme - Jassim Fakhro Fund. The programme has also supported the recipients by ensuring they receive ongoing technical training and experience. The fund programme was established in 2001 to honor Jassim Fakhro, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, and with the ambition to support the professional development of young talented Bahrainis. It provides financial support, coupled with coaching and mentoring from more experienced colleagues to help talented youth to pursue and successfully complete any professional qualification of their choice. Till date, over 160 Bahraini professionals have benefited from the programme at a total investment of USD $ 1.8 million.
