Best-sellers and Classic favourites By Marian SAMPSON

IF you are a bit of a bookworm you may find some kindred hearts at the Probus Club of Fingal Bay. Probus Club members enjoy meetings that include a delicious meal and a glass of wine or two, whether it is fine dining or a beachside barbecue. However, the Fingal Bay Probus Club has two regular gatherings that differ somewhat from the norm. The Mahjong Group is held on Mondays and, the Book Lovers group meet regularly in each other’s homes to compare books they’ve enjoyed, or not! Julia Redlich of the Probus Club of Fingal Bay and one of the Booklovers told News Of The Area, “ We

enjoy current best-sellers and classic favourites, some books that we read may also have a particular connection to the individual.” Ms Redlich believes that sharing about the books that we have been reading leads to sharing fascinating stories. At every Mahjong and Booklovers get together the Probus Members naturally enjoy refreshments. “Who can resist a cuppa and cake and gossip about a good book with friends?,” she said. The Probus Club of Fingal Bay meets on the second Monday of every month at 9.30am at The Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club, at 100 Rocky Point Road Fingal Bay.

residents who were urged to band together and appeal to the owners of the building, as well
