Costantino-Primo Funeral Home

stablished in 1996 by Victor Costantino, our mission of the Costantino-Primo Funeral Home was simple; Excellence in Service in All Respects. From this mission we have never wavered. We were the first in the area to offer online obituary and condolences and digital scrapbook presentations. The Costantino-Primo Funeral Home was constructed to be just that, a funeral home. It is a modern, totally handicap accessible building situated on the corner of the White Horse Pike and South Arlington Avenue in Berlin, NJ featuring onsite parking, two large view-

D

ing rooms, four restrooms, a children’s play room, onsite casket display, cremation options room and many other conveniences available to our families. In an effort to be more responsible for our environment, the building was wired for solar power, all lighting is incandescent free, and an auxiliary generator was installed to ensure against electricity loss during funeral related functions. In 2014 Tony and Michelle Primo, who are both NJ funeral directors took over ownership of the funeral home and continued to work side by side with Victor to grow and add to the business.

Selling Your Home… Conquering the Fear

eciding to sell your home is stressful. Whether it is based on need or want, there is a certain amount of dread that overshadows the mere idea of it. If selling is out of necessity, it is more so. Unless you are the type of person who has everything meticulously maintained, are extremely organized and neat, the mere idea of selling your home is enough to end the process before it begins. It is not so much about coming to the decision, it is the where to start and what needs to be done that does

it. Even those who feel they are ready peer into the pit of dread. The house is one thing, but what to do with 50 years of life, hobbies, yard sale acquisitions and that lamp from your Great Aunt you feel responsible for. It is enough to make you think to heck with it, we’ll stay for a little longer….meanwhile the house is still too big, stuff is still in the closets and your dreams, perhaps needs, remain on a shelf in your mind. Suddenly, going to the dentist or getting

Tony, who is originally from Pine Hill, has been a licensed NJ funeral director since 2000. In 2005 he came to work for Victor Costantino before purchasing the funeral home in 2014. Michelle, who is from Berlin has been licensed since 2005. She participates in multiple organizations in Berlin including the Berlin Business Association, Lions and Sons of Italy. Vic was licensed as a NJ funeral director in 1974. Vic is also very active in the town including the Rotary and ICCA. Additionally, Vic is a Certified Funeral Celebrant who has conducted many services in tri state area. At the end of 2019 Tony and Michelle decided to add to the business giving it the Costantino-Primo distinction. They hope their two young boys will one day join them in the business. Excellence is still their mission and will continue to be. Located on 231 W White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009 (856) 768-0688 ■

Prearranging and Peace of Mind

T

he staff of the Bradley Funeral Home considers it a privilege to serve a family at a time of loss, and we do not take for granted the decision of a family to entrust their loved ones to our care. We are also conscious of the fact that making funeral arrangements at a time of loss, is a difficult and trying task. Bradley Funeral Home’s goal is that our service to a family does not end when we depart from a cemetery or a cremation service. We strive to serve our families before, during and after the service. "Is this what they would have wanted?" is a common question heard when planning a funeral. Making your wishes clear ahead of time can prove to be a comfort to your loved ones. Our directors can lead you through the process of advanced planning and provide advice and guidance along the way. This ensures you have the information you need to make decisions before there is an urgency to do so. Advanced planning can eliminate some emotional and

financial burdens for surviving family members, and allow peace of mind knowing that the details are complete. Advance planning affords the opportunity to make educated decisions with a clear mind instead of making decisions, within a few hours or days because the circumstances forced your hand. In addition, with a decision to pre fund burial or cremation arrangements, one can alleviate financial concerns when the time comes that Bradley Funeral Home’s services are needed. There are options as to how a funeral can be pre funded and we are able to discuss those with you. Making your desires known, having someone who can execute your final wishes and having your plans in place are all free of charge and no obligation conversations which we at Bradley Funeral Home are happy to have with you. Please contact us at 856-983-1005 or www.BradleyFHMarlton.com for information or to make an appointment. ■

Connecting with Loved Ones Living with Dementia Through Technology

S

ocial distancing does not have to feel like a jail sentence. But when you are feeling socially isolated and caring for a loved one with dementia, it can certainly feel like it. How can we navigate the changes in both our lives and theirs? Perhaps your loved one enjoyed attending a group, a center, eating out or going to the gym with you. Perhaps you were able to flee the house for a few hours and do self-care things. Now as we navigate the novel COVID-19, we are called to adapt. Technology can be an asset. If you are intimidated by technology, now is the time to use the good old-fashioned phone and call a friend, a neighbor, a son or daughter and ask for help. Not only will you gain from the connection to your helper, you will be challenging your brain to learn some new and useful tools. Did you know that every day since Coronavirus has spread,

Block The Sun Not The View!

Harmful UV Rays can Damage & Fade Your Furniture, Upholstery, Rugs, and Hardwood Floors when exposed to sunlight.

WINDOW FILM BLOCKS 99% OF HARMFUL UV RAYS!

Tips From South Jersey Window Tinting

nstalling films on the interior windows of your home may not be at the top of your home-makeover “to-do” list, but South Jersey Window Tinting has several good reasons why homeowners should consider this a priority. South Jersey Window Tinting believes in, “Block the Sun, Not the View” concept. As one of the area's largest contractors of window films, South Jersey Window Tinting has more than three decades of experience and knowledge in the importance of Window Film. Rob Kemly, the owner of

the company, offers some tips why window tinting is essential: Why should people seriously consider investing in window tinting for their home? “For heat, glare, fading of flooring, furniture, paintings, wallpaper, etc. We also offer safety film to protect from glass breakage and intruders”. How does putting film on the windows reduce energy costs? “By installing film, you are not allowing 100% of the cold air to penetrate through the glass surface, reducing heating costs. What does come through

during the winter is trapped, which keeps the heat inside your home”. Talk a little bit about how your product provides protection from the sun? “This is the latest, nanotechnology film that is applied to the interior of the existing glass, which insulates homes both summer and winter. It protects you and your home from harmful UV rays”. How much does it cost? “Pricing is job specific. Call or email us to receive a FREE estimate. We run several please see WINDOW, page 8

RATITUDE We know from research that a daily gratitude practice is good for us, helping us reduce stress, get better sleep, and stay healthier. I wash my hands at least 30x a day now, so as I lather up I try to take that moment to focus on being grateful. I think how grateful I am for all of our staff at Lions Gate caring for all of our residents. I think about the hourly workers in grocery stores and pharmacies helping restock the stores with food and necessities, putting themselves out there so that the rest of us can shelter in place. I think about everyone from first responders to hospital staffs to sanitation workers collecting our trash. CONNECTION I am amazed at the novel ways people are coming together as they maintain social distancing. Whether it is a virtual birthday party through Skype or a virtual book club over Zoom, people are reconnecting in new and different ways that make me smile. We Stand Together, Even When We’re Apart D

Local Universities and Communities Unite for American Cancer Society Relay For Life USA

ue to the COVID-19 outbreak, the American Cancer Society has recreated its Relay For Life events across the US. Although events through June are suspended, some local Relays have gone virtual for their communities and the ACS held its nationwide Relay USA via livestream on April 25th. “During this difficult time, cancer hasn’t stopped, and neither will we. Cancer patients are more vulnerable than ever before,” said Paula Green, executive director for the American Cancer Society in the Greater Philadelphia area. “Even though we cannot currently be face-to-face, we’re committed to continuing to attack cancer from every angle and hope that communities will unite with us, even when we’re apart. Current pandemic conditions have created an environment

for innovation. Local university Relay For Life events, led by student volunteers, switched to virtual platforms to support American Cancer Society, launching inspiring videos and hosting livestreams including Rowan University, Rider University, and St. Joseph’s University. Still, others are hosting Laptop Lip Sync and Gamers Vs. Cancer fundraisers. The Relay For Life of Marlton, scheduled for May 30th, will be following suit with a virtual event of its own. Supporters can join on Zoom and Facebook Live at www.Facebook. com/RFLMarlton starting at 6 PM. The Relay For Life movement celebrates people who have been touched by cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and fundraises to save more lives. Relay is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer So-

ciety staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries. The American Cancer Society’s mission matters more than ever. Since the pandemic began, between 70% to 80% of calls to the Society’s 24/7 live

helpline at 1-800-227-2345 have been about COVID-19 and cancer. The latest information about COVID-19 and cancer also can be found at www.cancer. org. ACS Hope Lodges across the country had to make a heartbreaking decision to close

to patients since they could not ensure patient safety during COVID-19. However, many locations are now providing free housing to front line health care workers at nearby hospitals who need a place to stay or rest in between shifts. ■
