So, today is a good day to sign up for a bridge lesson! Total beginners might want to consider Introduction to Bridge, a relaxing and entertaining welcome to the wonderful world of bridge.

The nine-session, in-person course is available on Saturdays, 1-3 pm, beginning February 4, as well as Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm, beginning February 7, and Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 am, beginning March 1. Each session includes topic-based instruction followed by playing bridge hands using skills learned in that ses- sion.

Another in-person course, Defense in the 21st Century, runs for nine Wednesdays, 4-6 pm, beginning February 8. Sign up for the entire course or just specific weeks featuring defensive strategy topics of special interest to your bridge playing. Basic bridge knowledge is required.

Bridge courses taught online in four weekly sessions using two free internet programs include Slam Bidding, 10-11:30 am on Tuesdays beginning February 21; Major Suit Openings, 9:30-11 am on Mondays, beginning February 27; and Second & Third Hand Play, 1:30-3 pm on Mondays also beginning February 27.

Game Friendzy also hosts a 0-20 game for novice bridge players every Thursday morning. It includes a brief lesson on dupli- cate bridge and bridge etiquette at 9:30 am, playing 12-18 boards at 10 am, and a post-game board review with the director.
