Mah Jongg Dessert Party!

Game Friendzy, located at 7 Carnegie Plaza near the intersection of Springdale and Church roads, will provide a luscious spread of mini desserts and coffee and tea but guests are invited to bring confections to share, whether it be a favorite homemade dessert or a store-bought treat. “Mah Jongg fans everywhere have been excitedly awaiting the new card,” says Game Friendzy owner Bernadette Hennessy May. “So we’re heralding and welcoming its arrival with a party!”

Mah Jongg sets will be supplied and Game Friendzy will have a limited number of cards to lend, but guests with cards should bring them. Participants can play the new 2023 card, the 2022 card, or any previous card, if there are at least two people with the same year cards.

Table seating will be arranged according to playing level, as best as possible. Two-person, three-person, and four-person tables will be available, depending on attendance. All levels of players are welcome. An instructor will be available for beginner players.

Game Friendzy, the area’s premier location to play tabletop games, features free parking, airy rooms, a kitchenette, and complimentary coffee and snacks, along with a full roster of games, lessons, special events, and a board game library.

It hosts social and competitive bridge games and mah jongg, canasta, pinochle and Dungeons & Dragons sessions. Online and in-person bridge lessons, plus weekly social guided play and learning opportunities for each of the games, are also available.

Haines Farm & Garden Gearing Up For Peak Season

We are a family owned and operated Garden Center that has been in existence for over 115 years and is in its 4th generation. The business started around 1885 as a general store named Morton & Haines. They sold groceries and farmers’ supplies, including farm equipment. It housed the “Parry Post Office” until the free rural delivery system was inaugurated. At that time the post office was moved to its current site – “The Palmyra Post Office”. As farms in the area were sold, they added a Buick Dealership known as Haines Buick.

On our ancestral site, which is rich in history, with the tradition of a turnpike, tollhouse, a historic store and post office, the family firm continues. Great-grandchild, Todd Perkins, and wife
