Passing the Torch As Angelo Sr. is preparing for semi-retirement and passing the torch to the 4th generation, Angelo Jr. and Jessica, he is reminiscing on his family history. Dynamic Language Services, Haddonfield, NJ My co-workers at my last place of employment suggested more than a few times that I should open my own language school. About a few months after I had left my old job in March 2009, Dynamic Language Services was born. Dynamic Language, Haddonfield, has been teaching kids, teens and adults foreign languages for the past 14 years. Our language coaches are native fluent speakers which brings a level of authenticity to enhance your learning experience. Dynamic Language teaches Mandarin, Japanese, English, French, Arabic, Thai, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, German, Hebrew and Korean. We start teaching children at the age of 3 years old, usually in small group programs, that allow parents to introduce their children to some of the best language training in New Jersey for as little as $16.63 per hour. Teens usually come to our language center for help with Spanish, Chinese or Latin. Adults that enroll at Dynamic Language usually are looking to enhance their vacation experience by learning greetings, saying thank-you as well as knowing how to order from the menu. We also offer a cultural component to accompany the lesson that will explain the dos and don’ts when engaging with people from another culture.
Our language coaches thrive at Dynamic because of the autonomy that is given to them. They have the initiative to use the resources provided to them, and craft a language lesson that will be tailored to the individual or group that they will be teaching. All teachers have their own room which is conducive to learning. Dynamic Language increases their students’ language skills by focusing on conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation and listening comprehension. Our conversational, intuitive teaching method has been used successfully with thousands of students over the years. A good portion of our students are comfortable with remote learning (Skype or Zoom) as they find it convenient to take lessons from their home or office. Many of our students have been with us for several years as they perfect their lan-

When January rolls around the holiday season will be over but the fun continues at Game Friendzy in Cherry Hill with gaming parties and the grand opening of its extensive game and puzzle lending library. South Jersey’s premier tabletop gaming destination is located at 7 Carnegie Plaza, and offers spacious rooms, free parking, and complimentary snacks and beverages. There’ll be fun (and yummy food!) for everybody in January at Game Friendzy. Mah jongg and canasta players are invited to a Winter Des-
sert Party on Sunday, January 14, 1-4 pm. The cost is $15/person for three hours of playing and a dessert buffet. Bridge players can enjoy potluck gatherings on three different game days as well as a hot chocolate bar with all the fixings during a special Hot Chocolate Swiss Teams event. We are a family owned and operated Garden Center that has been in existence for over 115 years and is in its 4th generation. The business started around 1885 as a general store named Morton & Haines. They sold groceries and farmers’ supplies, including farm equipment. It housed the “Parry Post Office” until the free rural delivery system was inaugurated. At that time the post office was moved to its current site – “The Palmyra Post Office”. As farms in the area were sold, they added a Buick Dealership known as Haines Buick. On our ancestral site, which is rich in histo ry, with the tradition of a turnpike, tollhouse, a historic store and post office, the family firm continues. Sanctuary Foundation for Veterans Sanctuary Foundation for Veterans (SF4V) has been providing supportive services and housing assistance to members of Burlington County for almost a decade and has significantly grown over this time. SF4V provides services to Veterans and their families, homeless persons, and victims of domestic violence throughout southern New Jersey. SF4V also provides advocacy, benefits assistance, housing assistance, linkage to care and much more. In 2022, during the pandemic, SF4V received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health to Mitigate and Prevent the spread of Covid-19 throughout Burlington County which led to the creation of the VAXX Squad. The VAXX Squad is a group of outreach staff hired for a New Jersey Department of Health grant that was awarded to SF4V for 2022-2023. Our team col-
laborates with organizations throughout Burlington County to curb “vaccine hesitancy” of the Covid-19 vaccines. This program has made impacts on the lives of over 8,000 Burlington County residents by giving them education packets on Covid-19 and by getting them vaccinated and tested to lessen their chances of getting and spreading Covid-19. Over 2,000 Covid-19 test kits have been distributed throughout Burlington County. Vaxx Squad has partnered/collaborated with more than 30 Businesses/Organizations to service the Burlington County residents together. This has been the highlight of this project and re-funded because it has opened so many Resources that would not have been made. We are extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity to better our communities.

The New Jersey School of Music The New Jersey School of Music was established in 1958 by the Salicandro family. Originally the school was called the Medford School of Music and only offered piano and violin lessons. In 1974 the school changed its name and expanded to offer more lessons options. In 2001 the Salicandro family sold the business to the Sutin family. Today the NJ School of Music offers music lessons on most musical instruments as well as vocal lessons and music therapy with board certified music therapists. Dr. Marcell Martinez, from Merchantville, is the new owner of Rosvold Pharmacy in Cinnaminson. After a long successful tenure, Tom Stehr, decided to retire and keep the pharmacy family-owned as it has always been. She obtained her BS in Biochemistry from Philadelphia University (now Jefferson) and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Thomas Jefferson University. She was trained in sterile compounding at CHOP and looks forward to expanding compounding services at the pharmacy. Dr. Martinez was awarded the Outstanding Student of the Year by the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Association and Jefferson College of Life Sciences Alumni Association’s Inaugural Early Career Alumni Award. Some of her research experience included the biomagnification of environmental contaminants in the Delaware River Estuary. Previous chemistry and compounding experience included Colgate-Palmolive, Givaudan Flavors, and
Firmenich Fragrances. Dr. Martinez has over 10 yrs of community pharmacy experience while working for Walgreens in various locations in South Jersey and with centralized services providing clinical care. Rosvold Pharmacy has been going through some minor updates during the change of ownership process. Major insurance plans have been transferred over, specially those run by Express Scripts. If you received a letter in the mail regarding the change, you can disregard that notice. New credit card machines were installed with more secure features to prevent data hacking. The Voorhees Ballet Theatre is a non-profit organization offering an educational, professional experience for the serious-minded student interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts. The Ensemble Members and Apprentices have performed all over the Delaware Valley at various banquets and community events, plus many nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area. Each year since the first Nutcracker in 1987, Tchaikovsky’s score of The Nutcracker can be heard from September December throughout the walls of Lowe Dance Studio (the home studio of Voorhees
Ballet Theatre). To end the VBT season since the year 2000, an exciting Spring Performance has dazzled audiences with productions such as Coppelia, Snow White, Cinderella, Hansel & Gretel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, to name a few. Performances for VBT’s The Nutcracker will be held at the Voorhees Middle School Theatre on Friday, December 8 @ 7:00 pm; Saturday, December 9 @ 5:00 pm; and Sunday, December 10 @ 2:00 pm. This year, we are adding a sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, December 9 @ 11:00 am. Wagonhouse Winery In early 2004, Dan and Heather Brown decided to start a vineyard and winery. They leased some land from Dan’s family who had been farming in Mickleton for over a century, planted some grapes and hoped for the best! Fourteen years, 18 – 25 wines and three little boys later, they are still moving forward with all the energy and creativity they started with! They started the Three Boys Brand in 2009, to separate their traditional estate wines from their line of unique boutique blends. By 2010, Dan and Heather were ready to purchase a farm of their own. Not only did they want to stay near Mickelton where their vines were maturing beautifully, but they also wanted a small farm where they could live onsite, have room for their boys to run and open a tasting room. Leaving the 2010 Woodstown Fall Festival, they found their new home at 1401 Route 45. By Mother’s Day 2011, they had planted vines and opened their tasting room. However, as the saying goes, “a rolling stone gathers
no moss,” the Browns started a new venture in 2014, Crop @1401. They put up two high tunnels and planted a variety of fruits and vegetables for their boys to farm and sell. As a result of the pandemic, they turned one of those high tunnels into a year-round entertainment space. While seated in the 4500 square foot heated greenhouse, now named La Serra @1401 (greenhouse in Italian), guests can enjoy the ever growing and changing varietals that they have planted, as well as the wine and food ~ made with the same! The name “Wagonhouse Winery” was decided upon to celebrate the old wagonhouse on the Brown family farm. The idea was to build a tasting room someday modeled after that very building. Ironically enough, the building that is now their tasting room was once the site of the original wagonhouse for the farm located at 1401 Route 45, and they have the pictures to prove it!
