No Bull Mattress & More No Bull Mattress & More has the prices you have been looking for. They have something for everyone. Saving every customer 55 to 80 percent every minute of every day in a no haggle, no hassle, no pressure environment. No Bull Mattress & More truly is the little guy the big guys hope you don’t find. That is their motto, and there may not be a more fitting one for any business anywhere. Located in a little warehouse next to Dunkin’ Donuts at 2060 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, take one step inside the front door and you will instantly realize it is unlike any mattress store you have ever been in. Carole Cutry is the owner and operator with family employees. With virtually no paid advertising, and operating out of a warehouse rather than a big expensive showroom, she simply does not have the overhead that all the others have and can therefore hit lower

price points. Not only has she taken all of the overhead out of buying a mattress, she also eliminated the deceptive advertising, phony sales and high pressure sales tactics that are unfortunately all too common nowadays. “My goal is for my customers to have fun buying a mattress,” Cutry says. “And if they’re able to come here and find lower prices than any other place, and not have to haggle for those prices, that is a fun buying experience. I want every person that walks out of here to have a smile on their face. We want to be a breath of fresh air in the marketplace.” No Bull Mattress & More can be found at 2060 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, and can be reached at (856) 751-1371 or www.nobullmattress.com Call or stop in. Open Mon – Fri 105pm, Sat 11-430pm, and Sun 124pm.

Burlington County Eye Physicians The Eye Professionals The human eye is just like a camera. We have a lens inside of our eye that focuses back and forth, just like a camera has a lens.. When the lens inside of our eye becomes cloudy, it is known as a cataract. Many things can cause the lens inside of our eye to become cloudy and become a cataract, including trauma, certain medications, excessive sunlight exposure and diabetes, but most cataracts form as a result of the normal aging process. Once a cataract has formed, it usually does not require treatment until it interferes with a patient’s vision or quality of life. The only treatment for a cataract is surgical removal of the cataract. At Burlington County Eye Physicians, we employ the most advanced techniques available to treat a cataract. Cataract removal typically takes less than 20 minutes, in our Medicare approved out-patient surgical center. In the vast majority of cases, the cataract can be removed without the use of needles, stitches or a patch. Patients are able to see out of their eye immediately after the cataract is removed. Once the cataract is removed,

a new artificial lens is implanted into the eye. Patients today have the option of selecting a lens implant that will correct near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism. Newer high-technology lens implants are available through our practice that can deliver patients with clear distance and near vision without the need for glasses. To find out if you have cataracts, please contact us for a consultation at https://bceye. com or by calling 609-877-2800 for an appointment with Gregory H. Scimeca, M.D.

Bradley Funeral Home PREPLAN, PREPARED. Why preplan a funeral? You never know where the journey of life will take you. Why preplan? A good comparison is – have you ever been on a long road trip or traveled out of the country? You know how important it is to plan ahead. You choose a way to get where you are going, book a place to stay, and pack. You gather information on where you will visit, the language spoken, and details you may encounter. Planning ahead for a funeral is very much the same. What kind of funeral do you want? Do you have a preference between burial or cremation? What is needed? A service? An urn? Military Honors? Antiques and Clocks

“If your clock isn’t chiming t or running, it’s time to have it tuned up”, says David Fish- er, co-owner of Antiques and y Clocks Repair and Service. David and wife Lisa Fisher, are going on 36 years of owning and operating a clock repair business with sizable t growth. e In the early stages of their business, they repaired mostly antique clocks. “Now our business has grown to ino clude 20th century clocks”, l says Lisa Fisher, who is the 5 marketing arm of the business. Their growth has been - phenomenal in the last few years. The reason they are - seeing this in their business, is that people seem to be valuing their heritage and family clocks more. For many people clocks are heirlooms, some left to them by their family members. They have wanted to keep something of theirs with

them to pass down to their descendants. Clocks, whether antique or modern, can fit with any decor. With younger people decorating in modern fashion, they still want a grandfather clock which gives

their home a certain stability. “Maintenance on the machinery that powers the clock is essential as well. It heads off more expensive repairs”, says David Fisher, Master Clock Repairer.

The Fisher’s love what they do and are proud to be named as “Best of the Best”, 6 years in a row by the readers of House and Home Magazine. The Fisher’s have also been responsible for servicing some

historic clocks, including a clock that once belonged to Benjamin Franklin. If you would like to contact the Fisher’s for a clock repair, you can reach them at 856786-3444 or 856-912-6798.

signing custom kitchens. A.R. House serves as a platform for LaRosa to showcase his craftsmanship and artistic talents. Displaying his portfolio of previous projects, clients can see the attention to detail, precision, and quality of his work. LaRosa’s passion for carpentry and artistic expression is evident throughout the showroom- a collection of vignettes on display which showcase his craft and concentration on the design of residential kitchens. It is essential to LaRosa to add this element into his clients’ projects. He believes that by immersing them in a physical space filled with design inspiration, material, and ultimately a finished project, they can better understand his design possibilities and envision the final outcome. The showroom is careful-

ly curated to showcase a wide range of design styles, from traditional to contemporary, allowing clients to explore various aesthetics. Each section of the showroom displays different finishes and fixtures, giving clients the opportunity to see and compare options. LaRosa takes the time to listen and observe, asking questions to understand their lifestyle, preferences, and aspirations for their space. This personalized approach enables him to create a tailored design that reflects the unique personality of each client. Additionally, the showroom is more than just a space for display; it is a collaborative hub where clients can engage in interactive design sessions. Alongside LaRosa, they can sketch ideas, mix and match materials, and experiment with

different layouts. This handson approach fosters creativity and allows clients to actively participate in the design process, ensuring a sense of ownership and satisfaction with the final result. At American Rebuild, Darin LaRosa aims to go beyond the conventional client-contractor relationship. He strives to create an environment that encourages open dialogue, sparks creativity, and transforms dreams into reality. By offering a truly intimate experience, Darin hopes to exceed his clients’ expectations while building lasting relationships based on trust, innovation, and unparalleled craftsmanship. JB Bakery, where everything is always Just Baked, and people are always smiling JB Bakery began as a bagel and bread shop in 1952. Over time, ownership passed from family to family, and the product line increased. Fifteen years ago, Burlington native Stephen Simon purchased JB and made it what it is today: a local landmark and dessert lover’s paradise that is regularly voted one of Burlington County’s best bakeries. Originally, JB stood for “John’s Burlington Bakery”, the bakery’s founders, Mr. Simon sees it as “Always Just Baked” because it operates 24 hours a day to produce fresh-baked products. At JB, professional bakers and pastry chefs employ traditional methods to perfect the art of dessert making. They use scratch mixes and high-quality ingredients free of preservatives and imitation fla-

vors, with the human element involved from creation to consumption. The bakery offers hard-to-find specialties from all over the world, holiday delicacies, seasonal specials, fresh bread and rolls, a coffee bar, and exceptional service. The chefs design custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, Sweet 16’s, Bar and Bat Mitzvah, holidays, reunions, and many other occasions; by establishing relationships with customers and listening to their ideas, JB’s all-star staff turns cake dreams into reality. Through the years, JB has become a Burlington County landmark. It is annually featured in the local news, and people visit from out-of-state to tour the facility and taste the sweets. Guests cherish walking in and experiencing the rich

aroma that is unique to real, old-fashioned bakeries. A few years ago, JB gained fame for introducing its ever-popular “Whale Cookie,” a sugary delight inspired by the brave beluga that swam the Delaware River. The bakery was especially honored to host Food Network Chef Robert Irvine for an episode of Dinner Impossible, entitled “Nightshift: Impossible”, during which Irvine used JB’s old-world techniques and machinery to pull a culinary all-nighter. Above all, JB is a family bakery and a part of the local community. Generations have come to regard it as “their” bakery, and it is common for people who grew up with JB birthday cakes to feature JB at their weddings as well. It is the official bakery

Rosvold Pharmacy in Cinnaminson

Medication use in seniors is something that pharmacists take very seriously. As we get older, our bodies are not able to handle medications the same way they used to compared to our younger years. As our bodies mature, changes to our kidney and liver function affect the way that our bodies accumulate or break down medications. Changes in muscle mass and hydration levels may also affect how medications will work. What used to work well before, may not work as well, and what did not work well before, might be too strong in seniors. To name a few, levothyroxine for thyroid function may not be absorbed as well as we age so it is very important to stay up to date with all appointments. Pain medications, such as morphine and codeine products, might be too strong and may lead to excessive sedation and falls. Another type of medication that is often

overlooked is over-the-counter Benadryl products. Benadryl is an antihistamine used for allergies and itching. This type of medication is readily available but puts seniors at risk for excessive sedation, dehydration, blurry vision, and falls. There are also times when one medication might be ok in the elderly, but when mixed with another medication, increases the risk of severe compli-

cations. Benzodiazepine, such as alprazolam and lorazepam, when combined with pain medications such as tramadol and oxycodone, creates a deadly combination in seniors. It is very important to discuss all medication taken with your medical provider or pharmacist to ensure they are safe. Always carry a list of medications when leaving the home and consider signing up for an

alert system. In case of falls or other emergencies, being able to get assistance quickly may be the difference between a fast recovery at home, or permanent transition to an assisted living facility. For more information on how to stay safe at home, talk to one of the pharmacists at Rosvold Pharmacy 2702 North US 130 Cinnaminson, NJ 856-829-4877

MedEast’s holistic approach aims to treat patients with better quality care faster than other providers. MedEast believes that better outcomes result from patients receiving their products quickly. We utilize the latest technologies, including biometric scanning, 3D printing, modular devices, and prosthetic socket fabrication directly on patients’ residual limbs. In our Cherry Hill location, in addition to our usual services we also have a specialty post-mastectomy boutique, Ribbons with Hope. Love Nest Bob and Dolores Byrne found their sweet spot at The Evergreens In the heart of historic Moorestown, New Jersey, The Evergreens, a premier Acts Retirement-Life Community, is full of scenic spots for residents to celebrate the people they love. Bob and Dolores Byrne find much to enjoy at The Evergreens, from the beautiful campus to the wonderful friendships with their new neighbors. They plan to spend Valentine’s Day having dinner with some of their closest friends in the community and celebrating their sixty-one years of marriage. After living in Mount Laurel since 1985, they decided it was time to downsize and enjoy something new. The Evergreens felt like a natural choice. “We can go to our church and see our old friends. We’ve met so many wonderful new friends as well. And we are free to enjoy this beautiful facility and all the activities, knowing our needs are met without any effort on our part.” With maintenance free-living and Acts Life Care®, the Byrnes are able to take advantage of fantastic campus ame-

At The Evergreens, they know their home will be taken care of whether they are spending the weekend at their vacation home in the Poconos or visiting some far-flung international location. That lifestyle works well with their friendly, agreeable approach to life and marriage. “Over the years, we’ve learned to work together and try not to sweat the small stuff,” says Dolores. “Marriage is a give and take. Both need to be willing to give 100%.” It’s a strategy that’s worked. The Byrnes can’t remember a single argument. They knew they could always come to an agreement through patience and respect. Sixty-one years later, they still love spending time together and are enjoying the very best of retirement at The Evergreens. Celebrate National Cribbage Day! You’re invited to Game Friendzy in Cherry Hill to learn how to play an old English pub card game that uses a funny board, plastic pegs, a standard 52-card deck, and whimsical terms such as “his nobs,” “stink hole,” “muggins,” and “skunk.” Game Friendzy celebrates National Cribbage Day by offering cribbage lessons during the month of February. Get in on the cribbage craze and learn how to play this classic and enduring game! Come alone, with friends, or family members. Cribbage is perfect for all ages – children age 8 and up, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors. No prior cribbage experience is necessary. Cribbage lesson dates and times are Saturday, February 17, 10 am-12 pm; Wednesday, February 21, 6:30-8:30 pm, and Friday, February 23, 10 am-12 pm. The fee for the lesson is $10/person. Reservations are appreciated and can be made online or by calling 856-795PLAY, but walk-ins are welcome! Game Friendzy, located at 7 Carnegie Plaza, offers free

parking and complimentary light snacks, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and will supply the cribbage games. Like most card games, playing cribbage is good for brain health as it involves math, strategy, socializing, and problem solving. Cribbage doesn’t take long to learn, doesn’t take long to play, and it’s portable, making it a near perfect game! Created in the 17th century by English poet Sir John Suckling (by all accounts a colossal card cheat!), cribbage is one of the world’s oldest and most popular card games. An evolution of the English

(732) 504-8400

game Noddy, cribbage is typically played by two people using a deck of cards and a board dotted with “streets” of holes to keep score with little pegs. The goal is to be the first player to score 121 points (which is why hole 120, one short of the game hole, is called the “stink hole”). Cribbage, dubbed Britain’s national card game, was immortalized in the Charles Dickens’ tale, The Old Curiosity Shop, and has a storied history with submariners dating back to a lucky cribbage board played on a World War II vessel.

Healthcare Considerations in Your Twilight Years By Sherri L. Warfel, Esquire Between 1946 and 1964, America experienced a population explosion referred to as the Baby Boom with members of this generation now aged 59 to 77. More than 76 million people were born during this time. As this generation ages and its numbers wane, the Millennials who are now aged 27 to 42 born between 1981 and 1996 have surpassed the Baby Boom generation in size. While Baby Boomers bring with their aging the need for more medical care in the U.S. so too will the large generation of Millennials to follow. As a result, it is more important now than it has ever been in America’s history to be

sure we are all well taken care of in our twilight years. One of the ways our justice system allows for regulation of the industry is through the consult of attorneys specializing in nursing malpractice claims by individuals or families who have met with harm at the hands of a facility. Keep in mind that the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has reported that facilities with low nursing levels tend to have the highest rates of poor patient care. Time and again studies show that low nursing levels are associated with an increase in facility acquired infections, pressure wounds, and falls with injury. One would think that nurs-

ing homes would attempt to alleviate this health care hazard by attracting more nurses through better pay and benefits, but that is not always the case. As an attorney who handles neglect cases, I know that many claims are filed due to inadequate and incompetent nursing staff. In my experience, these decisions are at times based upon the profit margin for the facility which does not prioritize patient

care. Issues can also occur simply due to poorly run facilities. To help you choose a nursing home for your loved one, the NJ Department of Health has established a nursing staff to patient ratio quarterly report for facilities that can be accessed online through the following link: https://www.nj.gov/ health/healthcarequality/ health-care-professionals/ nurse-to-patient-staffing/
