Party to Celebrate the 2024 Mah Jongg Card!

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here – the 2024 National Mah Jongg League card has arrived!

And Game Friendzy in Cherry Hill is hosting a “deep dive” into the new card at celebratory dessert parties on Friday, April 19, 10 am-1 pm, and Saturday, April 20, 1-4 pm.

Centrally located at 7 Carnegie Plaza, near the intersection of Springdale and Church roads, Game Friendzy is an accessible facility with plenty of free parking.

Early reports indicate that the 2024 is a fun card to play and we’re excited!

At both parties we will examine, dissect, and discuss the card together, review playing strategies, and then break into tables to play using the new card.

Come alone or with a table of friends to whichever party best fits your schedule, weekday or weekend, morning or after-

noon!

Bring your 2024 card if you have one. We will also have 2024 cards to purchase or to borrow for the party.

We will play two-, three-, and four-person mah jongg, depending on attendance. Come with a table of friends or come alone -- all are welcome!

To add to the festivities, we’ll also play Siamese mah jongg, because double-handed mah jongg is double the fun! Participants can play with the regular 2024 card or one of our eight 2024 Siamese mah jongg cards.

The $15/person/party fee includes the discussion, three hours of playing, and a delectable dessert buffet, along with complimentary coffee and tea.

Reservations are appreciated for planning purposes but walk-ins are also welcome!

After high school, LaRosa pursued an education in architecture at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia where he earned his placement within the architectural studies program. Here he was able to deepen his knowledge of architecture while he grew more passionate about creativity and design. This program provided him with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the business he calls his own today.

Learn how to keep Burlington County green during Earth Fair 2024

The celebration of sustainability, recycling and stewardship returns to Smithville Park on April 21

Taking care of our natural environment can be a lot of fun, especially at this year’s Earth Fair at Historic Smithville Park.

The annual festival of sustainability, recycling and stewardship will be held on Sunday, April 21, to coincide with the 54th global Earth Day celebration. It will feature a wide variety of environment-friendly programs, displays, activities, food and entertainment. The event will run from 11 AM to 4 PM.

“Sustainability is something we want to become part of everyone’s daily lives and Earth Fair is a fantastic place to learn,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “It’s a celebration of the environment and the

things we can do to help protect our natural world and it’s happening at one of the region’s most attractive parks.”

This year’s festival will spotlight recycling and how to keep your home and garden green and sustainable. Among the featured presenters will be New Jersey naturalist Patt Sutton, who will share stories and information about her acclaimed Cape May Wildlife Garden.

Attendees can also shop at the festival’s Artisan Marketplace featuring upcycled and recycled goods and creations, visit a pop-up nature center or pedal your way to a delicious beverage courtesy of Wheelie Good Smoothies. There will also be plenty of entertainment and activities for all ages, including

a children’s puppet parade, storytellers, the Burlington County Library System’s Mobile Library, a 4-H Clubs animals, food trucks and a beer garden.

We are a family owned and operated Garden Center that has been in existence for over 115 years and is in its 4th generation. The business started around 1885 as a general store named Morton & Haines. They sold groceries and farmers’ supplies, including farm equipment. It housed the “Parry Post Office” until the free rural delivery system was inaugurated.

At that time the post office was moved to its current site – “The Palmyra Post Office”. As farms in the area were sold, they added a Buick Dealership known as Haines Buick.

Sherwood Landscape, Lighting & Design’s founder, Mark Marias, started the original company in 1989, offering lawn maintenance, spring cleanups, trimming, fall cleanups, mulching, and some planting. As clientele grew and the industry started to shift, more of our South Jersey customers

started to ask about landscape design services and paver installations. Mark took classes to learn drafting and landscape design to be able to design high quality landscapes. The design and build division became more demanding, and Mark really started to find a passion creating paver patios, walls, steps, retaining walls, driveways, pools, outdoor kitchens, water features, fire features, and landscape lighting. As the direction of the company started to turn more towards landscape construction, Mark sold the maintenance side of the business to exclusively focus on landscape design and build. Mark’s oldest son Austin worked for Sherwood Landscape, Lighting & Design during time off from college. Austin graduated from Rutgers Camden Business School with a Degree in Finance. After graduation he worked as a financial analyst for Lockheed Martin managing finances for their missile defense system projects, and Holman Automotive as an analyst in their Strategic Ventures department. Throughout that time Austin still worked for the business after work,

and on weekends and holidays. In 2019, Austin decided to quit a full-time position and start working for Sherwood Landscape, Lighting & Design fulltime. Austin took his passion for the business and experience to help grow the business, streamline operations, and manage financials.Mark’s second son, Devon, started working for the business while in high school.

Devon went on to Rowan College of Burlington County and studied Business Management. As Sherwood Landscape, Lighting & Design started to grow, Devon decided to join full-time to manage operations and help maintain our high quality of work.
