Tate Busse Already a signee with the Wichita State University basketball team, Busse isn’t quite done leaving his mark on St. Francis High School. The senior owns some of the top times in the state this season in the 800-meter run and the 400-meter dash. Heading into regional week, Busse turned in the area’s top time in the 800, a 1 minutes, 58.04 second mark early in the season, four seconds faster than anyone in the area this spring. He also owned the area’s second-fastest 400 time of 51.54 seconds.
Tanner Copeland Through 10 rounds this spring, the Plainville High School golfer averaged a 78, helping the Plainville Cardinals to the state tournament after D ÆUVW SODFH ÆQLVK LQ WKH Oberlin 2A regional. Copeland’s season began with a win in the Osborne Invitational, then a second-place showing behind Parker Krob in the Cardinals’ home meet. Copeland then won a playoff against TMP’s Cameron Rozean at Smoky Hill Country Club. Later, he won the Mel Schremmer Invitational and was third in the MCL meet.
Madison Wolf Wolf owned the best javelin throw in the nation heading into the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 24-26 in Charlotte, N.C. The senior’s top toss went 167 feet, 3 inches. The Bennington naWLYH SODFHG ÆUVW LQ WKH 0,$$ Outdoor Championships with a throw of 158-2. She was selected to the USTFCCCA All-Region team. Wolf was in search of her fourth All-America honor heading into the national outdoor meet.
Darrien Holloway Just a sophomore, the Osborne High School hurdler owned the fastest times in the area heading into regional action two weeks ago. Holloway ran his best time in the 110-meter hurdles at WKH .DLVHU 5HOD\V ÆQLVKing in 15.08 seconds, then ran his best time in the 300 hurdles at the Northern Plains League meet before WKH UHJLRQDO ÆQLVKLQJ ÆUVW in 40.95 seconds, among the top 25 times in WKH VWDWH UHJDUGOHVV RI FODVVLÆFDWLRQ
