Decano Cronin In the first race beyond his collegiate d ays at Fort Hays State, Decano Cronin hit a European Championships “A� Standard in the 800 meters at the Music City Distance Carnival on June 2. He ran a time of 1 minutes, 46.67 seconds, going 0.7 seconds better than his quickest effort at Fort Hays State over the last two years. The European Championships entry standard is 1:47.60 in the 800 meters. The “A� Standard in Ireland is 1:47.10 and the “B� standard is the standard for the European Championships.
Afftin Conway A junior for the Osborne High School JLUOV½ WUDFN DQG ÆHOG team, Conway was twice golden at the state track DQG ÆHOG FKDPSLRQVKLSV in May at Wichita’s Cessna Stadium. Conway captured a crown in the 300-meWHU KXUGOHV ÆQLVKLQJ LQ 44.86 seconds. She also claimed the 1A championship in the 100-meter dah, ÆQLVKLQJ LQ VHFRQGV &RQZD\ ZDV one of two Osborne athletes to grab two gold medals, along with sophomore Darrien Holloway, who won both hurdling events in Class 1A for the Osbrne boys.
Wyatt Divis Through 10 games for the Hays Larks, Divis KDG D KRW EDW LQ KLV ÆUVW summer in Hays. The sophomore from Lincoln via University of Texas-Arlington had 26 atbats, connecting on 11 hits in that span, with two of them going for extra bases. As of June 13, Divis had nine RBI and 10 runs scored.
